Meh. Nothing new. After 15 years, you notice the pattern....the Arctic ice ALWAYS melts in the summer, but no mention of Antarctic ice increasing in their winter. And vice versa.
Wait 4 months. They'll be screaming about the Antartica ice cap melting, and glaciers dying as icebergs crash into the Ross Sea.
But that's what you get when you cross an eco-religious cult and politics.(Plus BIG bucks for the fraud artists)
Oh well. Just check WUWT in 2 days.According to the nuts, the Arctic will be ALMOST ice free. WTF is almost? 9 million sq/kms, or 3 million?

Is Barack Obama America’s Most Dishonest Politician?
"A lot of politicians are dishonest, but Barack Obama may be in a league by himself. He appeared on the David Letterman show [two nights ago], and Letterman asked him about the national debt (somewhat surprisingly). Obama’s answer was a masterpiece of prevarication. ..."

Now, for an antidote to Obama's appearance on Letterman:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fDQiOnttN9Q
(Too bad I couldn't find Jane Monheit singing Send in the Clowns ... oh well, some other time ...)
"There was no major league franchise in Washington from 1971 until 2005, when the Montreal Expos moved to the U.S. capital and became the Nationals."
"The last time a team in Washington made the postseason was in 1933, when the Senators won the American League pennant and then lost the World Series in five games to the New York Giants."
...-
"Nationals Move to Brink of 1st Washington Postseason Since 1933"
"The Washington Nationals split a doubleheader with the Los Angeles Dodgers, moving one win from giving the nation’s capital a postseason baseball team for the first time in 79 years.
The Nationals (90-58), who have the best record in Major League Baseball, need one win in their 14 remaining games this season to reach the playoffs as the National League East division champion or as one of the league’s two wild cards."
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-09-20/nationals-move-to-brink-of-1st-washington-postseason-since-1933.html
batb, yes, that was quite the memory loss by Obama. He said, when asked by Letterman, how much the national debt was, and was it about or more than 10 trillion, Obama's reply was: 'I don't remember what is is precisely'. Incredible. Never mind the precision, he won't even admit that it's more than 16 trillion, with most of that over the 10 trillion due to and only to: Him.
Instead, Obama tried to blame the total, I repeat, total, debt, on Bush. He declared that a surplus, ie, no debt, existed during the Clinton years. Oh? There's a difference between a surplus in the budget and a national debt.
And VDH has, again, a great column today about the MENA. This time, in the National Review. He says, in part
'What can we do?
Start developing vast new oil and gas finds on public lands here at home. Get our financial house in order. Quietly cut back aid to hostile Middle East governments. Put travel off-limits. Restrict visas and call home ambassadors — at least until Arab governments control their own street mobs.
Develop a consistent policy on the so-called Arab Spring that applies the same criticism of illiberal dictators to the theocrats who depose them. Keep quiet and keep our military strong. Don’t apologize for a few Americans who have a right to be crude. Instead, condemn those pre-modern zealots who would murder anyone of whom they don’t approve.'
The Washington Examiner has, today, an important series on Obama, exposing him as a 'manufactured fraud', exposing everything that is false.
These include his claims of an impoverished childhood, which are untrue; his claims that he was a 'constitutional law professor' which are untrue; and so on. Outlines his underhand, crooked Chicago style political activities, his absent senatorial career and so on.
There seems to be a pattern in his life, which is that he, as a Manufactured Hero, flashes on to the scene, is welcomed and hailed for his supposed contributions and then in a few years, this scenario dissolves. It dissolves because Obama is not a real but a virtual entity. He's all image and words. There's nothing there in reality.
So, as a teacher he did nothing but the minimal, mentored no students, wrote no articles, contributed nothing to the faculty. Same with his time as editor of the Harvard Law Review. Same with his time as community organizer. Same with his time as a member of Senate. And guess what..

"Ontario’s Power Trip: Happy FIT day"
"Wind and solar now cost $4-billion a year"
"Pop the champagne, Ontario. September is the third anniversary of one of the most expensive and least useful experiments in top-down central planning in the province’s history. Three years ago, the Ontario Power Authority (OPA) released the original pricing model for the Feed-In Tariff (FIT) and MicroFIT programs after the passing of Bill 150, the Green Energy and Economy Act, in the spring of 2009. Under FIT, the Ontario government set sky-high prices for wind and solar power: wind generation at 13.5¢ per kilowatt hour and solar generation as high as 80.2¢ per kWh."

National Public Radio (NPR) published an article on its website last month claiming, “Ten years ago, a piece of ice the size of Rhode Island disintegrated and melted in the waters off Antarctica. Two other massive ice shelves along the Antarctic Peninsula had suffered similar fates a few years before. The events became poster children for the effects of global warming. … There’s no question that unusually warm air triggered the final demise of these huge chunks of ice.”
NPR failed to mention anywhere in its article that Antarctic sea ice has been growing since satellites first began measuring the ice 33 years ago and the sea ice has been above the 33-year average throughout 2012."

I have adjusted the Real Clear Politics
(http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/president/us/general_election_romney_vs_obama-1171.html)
polling average to 1.61% (advantage Obama), and that's generous, to be blunt.
I have factored out the 4.4% Democratic sampling advantage from the Pew Research poll (buried at page 31 of an 81 page report, which I find offensive -- and entirely arbitrary, considering that they deducted exactly 75 respondents for no particularly reason, which is way too convenient a number -- I have assumed that they are all Democrats). I have also set the NBC/Wall Street Journal poll to a tie (five point Obama lead, as reported), considering that the Democratic sampling advantage is 7 percent (again, buried at page 13 of a 14 page report). I haven't looked at the Monmouth/SurveyUSA/Braun poll.
This lead, such as it is, is entirely surmountable (four syllables), considering that it is also based on a bad Rasmussen result, likely driven by the usual manufactured media shit storm of the week.
So, I'd call it for Romney/Ryan in maybe 32 to 35 states (not as comfortable as Reagan/Bush in 1980, but cetainly less scary than Bush/Cheney either time). Easy-peasy.
Incidentally, somebody's got to be wrong: Rassmussen can't have a +4 Republican advantage, with everybody else having a Democratic advantage of between +4.4 and a gazillion. There was a time in American politics that the Democratic advantage was 50 to 25, but the Republicans still managed to elect Presidents (but not Congresses, which they can now do).
I also think that Mitt Romney is absolutely the right guy for the times. His personality is somewhere between Mike Harris and Brian Mulroney. America will need alot of healing, and lots of tough measure. He still talks too much, but my friend Steve will disabuse him of that tendancy pretty quick.
They can protest this...
Here is a great article about Mitt Romney and the US Right that could equally be applied here.
http://www.theamericanconservative.com/why-we-criticize-mitt/
It’s not the election that matters, it’s the conscience of conservatism: whether Romney or Obama wins, the country is in serious trouble. But how conservatives react to its trouble makes a tremendous difference: will they organize in opposition to Obama’s wars and power-grabs, or will they overlook (indeed support) measures of exactly the same kind if they are enacted by Mitt Romney? Conservatives have to undertake the painful separation of philosophy from partisanship,

apparently he wasnt helping her with her planned career as a federal golddigger.
Well, that was fast.
The PQ promised during the campaign that the separatist madrassahs that pass for universities in French Quebec would continue to be financed with tribute from the English (that is, equalization dollars from Ottawa, and the tax dollars of long-suffering Protestant and Jewish Lower Canadians), not tuition hikes.
(Obviously. If your son has enough wits about him that he belongs in university at all, presumably he could acquire a decent command of English in a fairly short time. If you have to pay good money to send him there, you won't send him to a French university if you have any choice.)
It seems that Pauline Marois announced, after the first meeting of the new pequiste cabinet, that the plans to rise Quebec tuition fees were cancelled effective immediately.
I suspect our friend QNDPS is laughing herself sick as I type this, and planning her drunken revels tonight with her gallants in the carres rouges. You've had your reward and so have they, girl. maz2 11:15a.m. --
How's that for a segue to the subject of apparatchicks? Laura Formusa would have made the perfect Stalinist: clueless, never said two words in the hearing room, collected a big salary (with pension and benefits to match) and did everything else a functionary would to sustain the government-run monopoly. The sad part is that Ontario has the perfect electrical system and governing legislation (thanks to my friend Mike) to make a stab at alternative private-sector generation -- but the industry, Ontario Energy Board and Liberal government have put paid to that heresy, in the usual dinosaur fashion.
I suppose she could become an Anglican priest (like Eleanor Clitheroe and another women I recently noticed in the Ivey School magazine -- can't recall her name), but Laura might be of a mind that such a calling isn't quite good enough for her, which is ironic.
The purges will continue until the five-year plans are achieved!
