I'm biased, but I swear Clinton just trashed everything that's been said at the Dem convention so far in the first 20 minutes of his speech. Man this guy is clever....I saw him talking right over the crowds heads. Even when he cleverly injected an applause line, the crowds cheering was subdued.... doubtless because they were unsure if they were being had.

They are being had. I think Clinton deliberately pretended to be enthusiastic, just like Clint Eastwood pretended to be befuddled.

Press loved him, Blitzer called it the greatest speech he's heard Clinton give.....ever! There is no doubt he left the press with some great clips to fit their bias. Just as long as they don't play the whole thing....

So maybe I'm wrong, but frankly, I think he just slit Obama's throat. Slyly told the Obama team to.... expletive deleted.

Is anybody catching Bill Clinton's speech right now? It's a doozie. No doubt, the Dems are whooped up right now and might even get a bump from the DNC. OTOH if the GOP can't counter this, they don't deserve victory. Here's my summary of the dem meme game talking points:

- we're not accountable for anything whatsoever. Think about it, we're smart and they're not.

- Obama inherited the worst economy, like ever, even worse than Clinton got (btw imo he was/is a spiffy speaker but was a real dud as president).

- Like, Obama's really tried to get us out of this mess that ONLY THE REPUBLICANS CREATED. And he's doing pretty good, right? Oh it could be better but those freaking Republicans obstructing the Dem controlled Congress all those years. Just because they had a majority it's still not their fault; get it - it's never their fault. It's the Tea Party's fault OK, they're just so evil.

- Just because Obama's obscene borrowing and dependence on foreign credit has threatened the US credit rating, the private sector (even GM)is doing fine, now we must help the public sector and unions - and it's all the Republicans' fault.

DID I MENTION IT'S ALL THE REPUBLICANS' FAULT?

- Americans are better off now than when Obama took over; yeah he said that.

- things are booming right now, haven't you noticed. Well you would have if you worked in the auto and green sector, thanks to subsidies, I mean growth. There are like way more workers at GM right now. The share value is plummeting? So what, I don't see the connection.

- Oh and right, Obama's energy policy is genius. Like, we're self-sufficient, right, so who needs that stinking Canadian oil and pipelines. Venezuela is a far more stable source, right?

- Most of all he believes everything he just said; and by the way he did not have sex with that woman. So get it straight, I really mean it and you better listen, cause well, you know, it's not our fault.

Like I said if the GOP can't unravel and discredit this gobbledygooop, they deserve to lose.

I missed most of Clinton's speech,but did catch him talking about commitment.Hilary must have appreciated that.

Bill Clinton claimed that Obama didn't steal 720 Billion from Medicare.. It was stolen from the Insurance Companies (to Cheers by the Communists) I guess that is why my premium for Medicare advantage increased by 40 % .

One important thing I caught during Clinton's speech tonight. Romney needs to capitalize on this.

Bill Clinton on September 5, 2012:
“One of the main reasons we ought to re-elect President Obama is that he is still committed to constructive cooperation.”

Barrack Obama on August 21, 2012:
“Where Republicans refuse to cooperate on things that I know are good for the American people, I will continue to look for ways to do it administratively and work around Congress”

Either Bill Clinton isn’t paying attention to what Barrack Obama is saying, or he’s telling us we shouldn’t vote for Obama.

Bob's so pathetic that I think he deserves a new moniker -- "the ghost of Christmas past" (you know, Christmas gifts; a blast from the past; the Liberal Party a post-mortem apparition of its former self? Anyway...).

Comparing and contrasting the Canadian media's coverage of the two conventions, it's interesting how last week's reports from various speakers at the RNC criticizing Obama and the Dems always had rebuttals from Dems incorporated into them...

"But the Democrats quickly responded", said many Media Party reporters and news anchors, apparently not wanting the criticisms to go unchallenged. And if a clip of some Dem wasn't incorporated into the video clips themselves, then it was mouthed from the reporter covering the story.

But not so this week... certainly from the reports I've been watching on TV this morning. It's as if the Republicans haven't responded to anything that has been said so far, that they're just twiddling their thumbs in silence. Or so the Media Party would have us believe.
