Not Waiting For The Asteroid

The end began with the election of George Bush.

The MSM quit pretending to be balanced and went batshit crazy full on libtard.

Which meant every time I picked up a paper (free in various restaurants) I almost throw up.

Damn. Now I have to start my fireplace with something else. Perhaps those NDP flyers may have a use after all.

In the past ten months I've read only one newspaper. Now I get my news online and at Sun News Network.
Formerly I had two newspaper subscriptions but their bias had become so blatant I let the subscriptions run out. Ditto for certain magazines.
I will never again be a subscriber until they learn that being cheerleaders for the left is hardly a good policy.
I gloat at their failure. In my view CTV and Global are almost as bad as CBC and I never watch them.

another result of supporting Obamassiah . . . his policies are killing them.

Maybe four more years of BamBam's economic genius will put a stake through their hearts.

Related...A CNBC poll goes horribly horribly wrong.

Do you agree with Romney's statement? (about the 47%)

Yes - 76%
No - 22%

Newspaper Ad Revenues Collapse to 1950 Levels...

I feel another Obama bailout coming.   Quick, lets have an Executive Order.   'It's for the Children!'
.

Apparently, the folks who pick up the free copies they give away to inflate their circulation stats don't want it for the advertising - it's just cheaper than TP.

I don't even look at the free papers anymore, except when I want to start a fire. There is a newspaper left at the bottom of my driveway every Thursday. I leave it there until it gets stolen. If nobody takes it, I throw it in the Blue Box.

It's like a pack of psychos read spiderman comics and Orwells 1984 and used them as models to network their way to success.

Perhaps newsprint circulation will rise again after the great economic collapse when folks can no longer afford TP.

The MSM supply of politically correct news coverage greatly exceeds the demand for it.

I love newspapers. You can slide them under doors so -easy- when you're painting, its a beautiful thing.

Same reason I really now wonder why I bothered to buy a new TV when they went digital.....only I use it to watch DVDs....less now that Blockbuster failed and Rogers quit.

The newspapermen who made short work of social credit while glorifying communism are finally being driven from the stage themselves. From their mansions in the house of the Father, Major Douglas and Reverend Aberhart must surely be enjoying the sight of this.

The Calgary Herald was awarded a Pulitzer for helping destroy social credit in Alberta. Let's see how long that Pulitzer prevents the Herald from going "online only."

Where I live, meanwhile, the local mainstream paper has decided to start observing Sunday as a day of rest, a sign of trouble if ever there was one for a paper that proudly prints drivel written by Muslims who presume to lecture Christians on religious toleration. Someone must have finally realized that few sensible people still bothered with the Sunday edition for more than the Sudoku puzzle---the only part of the paper that wasn't a pack of lies.

The Sunday edition of the local Sun, of course, is alive and well.

Still take the Ottawa Citizen, mostly for the comics, crossword & obits. Also makes great kitty litter poop bags for the greenbin and at $29/mo, cheaper than buying bags(I have 2 cats). I've already heard yesterdays news on radio & TV so the am paper is just a rehash.

Well that explains it. (the little dead mind)

They enrage half their audience, including most of the middle class with bias, lies and a condescending attitude. They do not report the facts, instead they distort the real news with their pre-digested "analysis" pablum.

And from the stories I have first seen first hand, half the time they either get the facts wrong, or miss the 60% of the important facts about the story, like who, what, why, where and when.

Just think how much money Black saved for Hollinger by selling those newspapers before they became worthless. The man was a genius.

A little testy are you Phil? Sleeping alone now, since somebody stole your goat.

The slide started Right after Eisenhower’s presidential farewell address when he warned of a concentration of unelected political power in America and it the press being used as a tool of corrupt statecraft. This became evident with the MSM bias against calls for independent objective investigation of the JFK/RFK/MLK assassinations and peaked with the MSM burying calls for objective investigation of Waco/Mena/OKC/9-11. The MSM unquestioningly propagandizes the superficial state narrative (state cover up or disinformation) and denounces any objective, principled dissent from the official talking points. This non-inquisitive sycophancy and state/political class bias carried into the phoney left-right partisan paradigm which they play out in the public narrative like cheerleaders picking sides in a rigged football game - they completely abandoned the American objective political narrative of liberty vs. tyranny, principle vs corruption for the branded left-right amoral partisan narrative of statist collectivist Europe.

The American public has wised up to the malfeasant state controled media narratives by the massive contrary fact and opinion flowing from alternative media - and now there is no putting the Genie back in the bottle. The corrupt state and its political system no longer have a monopoly on information flow. People are leaving the state-controlled media like rats off a sinking ship.

The Dino media and their political masters are scared and they are hitting back with draconian legislative attacks on the freedom of the new media (internet) - they must be watched like coiled snakes and routinely kicked to the curb when they assault our internet freedoms. One of the greatest weapons to free speech, free internet, freedom of dissent and for whistle blowers fingering their corrupt bosses, is the ability to maintain internet anonymity - this freedom is under intense attack by the corrupt state and its camp followers.

pill's neuron is lonely.

I still enjoy reading the papers. Except that now I just glance at the headlines. Did I say that I usually only read the on-line editions? And yes, they're all liberal. If I want balance, I need to start somewhere, and the MSM is always the place to start. Of course I find the truth elsewhere.

(the papers ought to be on suicide-watch)

Newspapers: black and white and 'red' (Marxist/Fascist) all over. Why would those trash piles be 'read'?

The riddle is as old and stale as the present state of the printed word that masquerades as a messenger of information and news in so called Newspapers. Bird cages and fire starter are the last use for these high priced piles of recycled pulp. They are no longer useful for window cleaning because the high oil content in the recycled filthy pulp makes windows dirty not clean.

No value, no sales. Meet reality, press gang!

Called the Calgary Herald a year ago to cancel my daily subscription - agent promptly offered to permanently cut my rate by 50%. I accepted the offer - need paper for the BBQ chimney starter.

And it's not just newspapers that are in decline - TV is obviously hurting as well, judging by the number of adverts touting "But wait! There's more!" And "Order in next 15 minutes - we can't do this all day."

Fear not the demise of the control freak state's number one booster, the MSM. I see a day coming where the state will enact a "truth in media" act where they will save their lapdog media by shutting down alternative media sources (dissenting voices) that were causing trouble -

or -

- they drop all pretense and just subsudize the tanking MSM with public funds to keep their public megaphone alive - the "too big/important to fail" excuse will be trotted out to justify saving their jurassic propagandist media. So, like CBC we may not watch it but we will be forced to paay for it anyway.

The coffee shop across the street has free newspapers for the taking. When my budgie's cage needs changing I walk across the street have a nice cup of coffee and come home with some free bird cage liner.

Harder, faster.

Hey they can make this years sales meeting in Cuba, where the politics and cars match those sales figures and they all work for Fidel.

That's bound to happen. Government propaganda organ doesn't appear to be a good business model in a free market economy. Fascism is a much more practical economic model if you want to spread lies and misery.

I became suspicious at an early age when the Demos under JFK stole the election from Richard Nixon. I mean seriously! If cats and dogs were voting Demo in 2008 why wouldn't they be in 1960(?). Stuffing ballot boxes is their specialty.
