No Chamberlain, this man.

"Those who single out the Jewish people as a target of racial and religious bigotry will inevitably be a threat to all of us," Harper said. "I say these things not to counsel any particular action...and certainly not to advocate war."

The PM's view that being a good world citizen isn't the same thing as "trying to court every dictator with a vote at the United Nations or just going along with every international consensus, no matter how self-evidently wrong-headed" is one shared by sane and reasonable people everywhere, not just in Canada, even if it's not shared by the chattering classes.

He's the first politician in my lifetime that I've ever been an actual fan of. I sometimes wonder where Canada would be - what our policies would be on things like cap-and-trade, and foreign policy -- if Stephen Harper hadn't decide to enter into public service as a young man, and stay the course, and take the heat.

He continues to impress. We're blessed to have him as our prime minister.

And yes, he's no Neville Chamberlain.

Har har ... heads are exploding faster than microwave popcorn over at the CBC comments for this story.

Max, from those comments, I think they would prefer Neville Chamberlain.

It makes me sick to think that the Harper bashers on the CBC comments actually live in Canada.

I have a picture in my mind--one which I can't banish--of a bunch of mutants, perhaps the kinds of beings that live under rocks or in the festering tents of the Occupy troops, who use their I-phones incessantly to infect every message board on the Globe and Mail, the CBC, and increasingly, the National Post with anti-Harper rants.

The comments on the blog are from some pretty freaky minds. Do these guys get out of their basements much?

What is even more surprising is that there are hundreds of others who are liking their comments. Must all be from the same university class, at McGill.

They must be from the same university and commenting from their basements. They are the only ones who have the time and stomach to comment at the CBC.

Osumashi, or Hugo Chavez.

If you mass replaced "Harper" with "Obama" and "Stateman of the Year" with "Nobel Peach Prize", many of the comments made sense.

I am proud of our PM, and the fact that he makes the leftards breaking into a foaming sputtering rage is just icing on the cake.

And n=many in here bash harper and say he is a lefty.

he moves slowly , but at an unstopable rate.

Best PM since Borden.

As the avowed purpose of antisemites is mass murder (genocide) is a trial necessary before their execution? Discuss.

It's always a good day when lefties have to hear about PMSH being portayed in a positive light on the world stage. One fellow I worked with when the CPC got their majority was lamenting "god, 4 years of misery". HA....I'm only miserable because of the surgical wait list I'm on.

Wow I went to the comments after the CBC story. They all sound like they are high school students.

They live in the only functioning Western Democracy not because of it's inner greatness but because Stephen Harper somehow has managed to keep it from destroying it's self and they think it sucks.

Here is a happy thought, just think if instead of shutting down Parliament for three months he just handed over control to Tugaban Jake, I am a friend of the oil sands Dion and That French guy. What a wonderful place this would be.

Side note. They really think Justin is their new savior. So much for the left uniting.

Ken, for some, would that were so.

Harper is right to snub the UN but if he had true wontons, he would withdraw today.

Harper is the first PM ever to make me feel pride in this Nation for the most part. The only other time was when we went to bat for the Iranian hostage taking for its prisoners.

Liberals don't know who Chamberlain is, but if they do know something about him they simply think he was an old British Prime Minister who wanted peace, they know nothing about the 'deal with the devil'. And these are people with University 'education'.
