About Kate
Why this blog?
Until this moment
I have been forced
to listen while media
and politicians alike
have told me
"what Canadians think".
In all that time they
never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio - "You don't speak for me."

Do they actually think it's a good idea to allow "supporters" people that have no vested interest or desire to see the liberal party succeed to vote for their leader?
That right there is a recipe for disaster.
But a disaster might be just what they earned themselves.
Can't wait for the emails and phone calls asking for $upport.

Heh. Kick out Queerbec.Love those "other" options.
This great I am now a supporter and I have the liberal party going to ask the sitting government to privatize the CBC, re- Brand Thomas mulcair as spider eyes mulcair .. As well as request the current sitting government to abolish the Indian act.
Sweet!!!!!!
Can't wait until my Liberal caucus member stands up in Question Period and asks my question:
"When is the Harper government going to admit that the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation is an outdated relic of the past, and that it is time to move on by de-funding and/or privatizing the entire operation?"
Take me, Justin...
they might not like my survey responses. and they are admitting the Liberal party is dead when they let anyone vote for a leader. no membership required.
I agree with Denis. Liberal party is dead! And, buried!
How out of touch are they that they need surveys like this to guide them?
Replied "Stopping the NDP" for questions where input was allowed. Hate to say it, but rebuilding the LPC may be in Canadians' best interest compared to the spectre of an NDP gov't. Sooner or later, the population WILL tire of the Conservative gov't. I prefer that the alternative be Liberal rather than NDP.
We want a liberal party . . . Force Mulcair to fight on two fronts.
Trudeau would be the ideal leader . . . He would have to own Quebec his base and that means bleeding the dippers.
Perfect!
That was fun.
which of these issues do you feel the Conservatives have failed to properly address?
Socialism, there is still too much of it.
Question period: How can we serve our constituents without the ridiculous infighting that Parliament has become known for?
No results posted after completion. This is another survey that will never see the light of day. I've been part of a couple of telephone ones, if they don't get the answers they want, it gets buried.
I asked for Shiny Pony Trudeau to be the leader OF THE LIBS!!!!
Imagine if enough "supporters" managed to take over a riding association and arranged to have the next leader appear in front of a hostile crowd asking very uncomfortable questions?
Not that I would suggest such a thing.....

Question #6;
"Do you think the federal government should discourage the development of the oil sector?"
Or, in plainer English;
" How strongly do you support assisted suicide?"
To the extent the questions indicate what Liberals are worried about, the survey is telling. But what they aren’t worried about is also telling.
They aren’t worried about:
• The lack of economic growth that is needed to pay for all their progressive programs.
• Low productivity. Huge improvement is needed to keep us competitive in a global economy. Productivity gains can only come from investment. If government consumes more wealth how will we get needed investment?
• The rising cost of Health Care given the demographic of baby boomers.
• The consequences of voting no to allowing Alberta’s strong natural resources to grow. What will replace that profit stream? Maple Syrup?
In short it would seem their number one issue is the economy. But there is no clue in their questioning that they have a clue of what they would do. Leave that to Justin?
Question #4: The following issues relate to services and support that may have an impact on the financial decisions that you and your family make on a daily basis – which of these issues do you feel the Conservatives have failed to properly address?
*Public sector union entitlements
Good way for the Liberals to get your name, phone number and email address so they can bug your ass for money and support.
I can hardly wait until they ask in the Commons for me, "Why has the government not defunded the CBC? Supplemental: Couldn't 1.5-BILLION dollars per year be better spent elsewhere?"
My home phone number is one digit off from a local pizza joint, and I normally get 2-3 calls a week for pizza. (Another story there for another time). Guess what phone number I gave the Liberals!?
My request was a little far fetched - i suggested that provincial premier Mcguinty be urged to resign for the sake of the Liberal brand-name. Still, I'm a young aboriginal woman so I assume my views will be taken seriously.
My suggested question in the HoC was "can you hear us all the way back here from illrevelancy?"
I hit send without filling in any personal information, it works! That was so much fun I think I'll do it again.
That was fun. Great questions listed above.
BC Monkey, exactly. However some days I despair that the socialist educational system has corrupted our society enough so that Mucair's communist ideology actually has traction with a significant percentage of our people.
Question: When will the North Korean style health care system be replaced with a European style of no wait times.
Weird survey where only the first 1/2 of each question was visible on my browser. Had to answer no opinion on a lot of questions and then got a chance to rant where the option was "other".
I suggested that the most important thing the Lieberal party could do was to immediately pay back the monies stolen in Adscam and C68 implementation.
I can't wait for my question to be asked in Question Period:
"When will this government fully investigate the Sponsorship Scandal, charge those responsible and demand repayment?"
Somehow I don't think it'll reach the light of day.
A very Liberal survey ... just the slightest door open to offer our own opinions on which direction the gov't should take.
Always fun to poke the stupid Lieberals in the eye...
Can't wait for them to ask my question: "When will the government stop wasting billions of dollars of tax payers money on reducing green house gas emissions when the premise is entirely based on the U.N's fraudulent interpretation of science"
I wonder if any respondents indicated that the ndp should merge with the lpc?
;)

Caucus should focus on keeping Omar khadr out of Canada. Libs should ask the Govt. when they are going to defund the CBC. Damn rights I will be a supporter - cannot wait to get a vote!
Mine sent accidently after I entered my first name. Oh well, no callbacks to me.
I did actually put down a serious question: How much could be saved by replacing the current CF-18 with the Super Hornet?
"Considering that Cretien drove the Liberal Party into the ground and it is in the sorry state that it finds itself today, do the other parties, the Conservatives and NDP, promise not to laugh at our nomination of Justin Trudeau when we elect him as our Party Leader - because we, the Liberals are not electing him because he is smart, or because he brings value, or that he can unite Canada or because he has the charisma of his father, or because his Liberal policy is our common strength - because he actually is devoid of those things - we are electing him as our Party Leader because when we liberals reach deep into our party ranks, his 'smile' and 'hair' are the best thing we got left.
Mark
All they got left is to put lip stick on the pig.
However I have no doubt that because it's justin the CBC will be running defence for him.
First one that dares criticise the young prince gets it.
I dare Kinsella to test this theory.
Lukaszuk will have a nice day I think
16) What question would you like Liberal Caucus members to ask in Question Period on your behalf?
Who do we make the cheque payable to for the sponsorship money we stole?
That was quite satisfying.
My survey will be filed in the circular filing cabinet after someone reads the first 6 answers.
I told them to ask when the government was going to force the liberano's to pay what they owe.
...and to demand that the liberal gun control laws stuffed up our backsides in the 70's be removed ASAP.
I clicked 'other' for health care hoping to mention increased private sector participation. No such luck.
I asked them to ask the cons gov't when they were going to defund the CBC!
With the Bloq gone, the Pony could hold the balance of power in a few years. If the NDP holds Quebec and Justin takes a bakers' dozen of urban ridings next election, we're looking at a left wing coalition government with Quebec socialists as the senior partners.
The last coalition attempt was unpalatable mainly because the ROC didn't recognize separatists as valid parliamentary participants. The prospect of a Bloq coalition plus Ignatieff's anti-charisma eviscerated the Libs last year. With Iggy and the Bloq gone, I'm hoping the Pony prances right off a cliff between now and next election.
13) Are you aware that the NDP supports a policy of allowing Quebec to separate with a simple majority of 50 percent plus 1 vote on any referendum question, no matter how unclear or misleading?
Push poll, anyone?
I don't know much about computers; can the pollsters tell if the participant is coming from SDA? I cut and pasted and participated using a different browser, just in case; suggestions may have more clout if they don't think they are from this (wonderful) community.
I'm am delighted with the prospect of Bob Rae standing up in the house, with my question in hand and saying "Mr Speaker, The people of Canada demand to know how a Thermos can keep hot stuff hot and cold stuff cold!"
Can the rest of canada vote on # 13?
I answered the survey fairly and honestly; maybe we will see the Liars feint to the right....again.
