You have to ask what good all the suffering with bravery accomplished that Socialists have destroyed, by making the English strangers in their own land.

The rot started with the whackademics, evident back in the thirties. The ripe soil where recruiting a Kim Philby was easily done.

To this day whackademia is still the tenured nest from which these anti-freedom pro-totalitarianism ideas originate and propagate.

The moments in history that Robert prepared for us were a brief reversal of the slide that continues today.

On a personal note, I was present in London for both events(naturally, I was very young). I can suggest that it certainly colours ones perception of things.

At the same time V2s were raining terror on London, the Manhattan project was nearing completion. Albert Einstein (who escaped from Nazi occupied territory) persuaded FDR to put a team of scientists working with the US military developing a nuclear weapon based in his theorems - The Manhattan project produced a finished weapon which was exploded 1 month after German surrender in May 1945. A good deal of the impetus to surrender came from German general staff being aware of the US completion of the bomb.

Within weeks of Nazi surrender Werner Von Braun, who was instrumental in the Nazi V2 rocket program surrendered to US intelligence rather than soviets - he feared the cruelty and repression of science inherent in the Stalin regime he also feared being executed by the SS should he fall into enemy hands so he defected from both these brutal socialist regimes to the US. Upon his surrender he stated;

"We knew that we had created a new means of warfare, and the question as to what nation, to what victorious nation we were willing to entrust this brainchild of ours was a MORAL decision more than anything else. We wanted to see the world spared another conflict such as Germany had just been through, and we felt that only by surrendering such a weapon to people who are GUIDED BY THE BIBLE could such an assurance to the world be best secured.”

The "bible-guided" US sequestered him into US weapons projects developing a rocket capable of delivering a nuclear weapon intercontinentally to "biblically" smite their enemies. But before he had completed final stage development, Harry Truman "morally" nuked Nagasaki and Hiroshima with a "Biblical-guided" air strike.

I bet God himself was confused about which side he was on.

I'm beginning to wonder if He is permitting Islam to overcome Christianity now in the same way he let the Babylonians conquer Israel and Judea to rebuke them for straying from His teachings.

I visited the V2 museum at St. Omer, France this past summer. It's something straight out of James Bond. I don't remember the exact details, but the Nazis were building the facility with an aim to eventually launch V2s at some incredible rate, 2-4 per hour or some such thing. Fortunately allied air raids, and eventual capture by the Canadians prevented it ever becoming operational.

The good old days. If the Brits were hit like that today they would just give up after the first bomb. They have become a bunch of complete sissies, where idiots like Beckham are what they now worship.

What is strange is that when empires die they don't fully disintegrate. They linger forever.

The tribulation ain't gonna be fun for those who see the light AFTER the rapture. Interesting that beheading is so popular with the muzzies, since this prophesy predates mad moe by almost 600 years.
There are no prophesies which remain to be fulfilled before the rapture and subsequent tribulation. Are you ready? Sadly, some people near and dear to me aren't - but I'm working on that.

The London Blitz was Hitler - Goering retaliation for some semi-incompetent RAF bombing of Berlin.
It helped save RAF Fighter Command from destruction by attrition in the air and on the ground. The ebb
in fighter losses was a key factor in regaining the strength necessary to achieve victory in the Battle of Britain.
Destruction in London carried out by the Nazis was key to a later telling victory by the RAF, just as Hitler's
egomaniacal policy on capturing debris called Stalingrad tied up his experts and led to a huge Russian victory.
The people of London and elsewhere who struggled and died in the blitz, just like the people who did the same
in Malta, helped to achieve outcomes well beyond anything that they could have imagined.

Exactly. This is not generally known and not written about in most history books about the times. I did not know this until I took some history courses through Athabaska, and it was quite a revelation.

The victors get to write the history.

There was rather more to the Blitz than simple retaliation. The Germans were still new to air warfare (everybody was in those days) and it hadn't yet struck them that pilots always exaggerate their kills. They were basing their intelligence on pilot reports, and on reports of damage to fighter-producing factories that relied on apparent damage rather than actual observation of activity.

As a result, they were convinced that they had destroyed most of the RAF fighter forces and had made it impossible for the British to replace them. They thought the British would be desperate to preserve their remaining force, and therefore decided to launch an attack that the British would have no choice but to resist with everything they had. And that meant all-out attack on London, the idea being to lure out the remaining British fighter force so it could be destroyed, giving Germany control of the air.

In fact, the RAF was stronger than it had been at the beginning of hostilities, and after two nights the attacks on London had to be scaled back because the Germans had lost two-thirds of their bomber force and were afraid of losing it all if they kept on.

Retaliation for the British bombing certainly was a factor, but not the whole story by any means.
