Pardoxically, the best way to get "guns off the streets" is to have EVERYONE on the streets packing heat.

Chicago has the dubious distinction of having the most detailed stats on homicides of any US city and those stats were part of the reason that Dr. Lott went from a "ban guns" stance to supporting widespread concealed carry.

Haven't looked at the stats in a few years, but about 15 years ago played around with this database and, curiously enough, 80+% of the homicides seemed to involve young black males shooting usually other black males but also other people. Also, the vast majority of Chicago homicides occurred in a few tiny (in comparison to the total metropolitan area) sections of the city.

Just another side effect from the US tolerating black single mothers being paid to have have multiple children by different itinerant fathers. Of course, one can never go after the real problem as that is so politically incorrect and so one goes after a symbol.

But then look at the bright side; think of the experience gained by ER residents in dealing with trauma as they spend a year or so in a Chicago ER.

But seriously, from what I have seen so far the murder rate is primarily between gang bangers in the black community and should be encouraged if at all possible. Just let Eric Holder handle this under the fast and furious portfolio. He's the Alan Rock of the USA and master of solutions.

Give gang-bangers marksmanship training and free ammo, and an automatic pardon if any person they kill is a criminal. However if they kill an innocent bystander they get their trigger finger amputated.
