It's Probably Nothing

A massive 13% collapse in durable goods, the biggest since January 2009; a $20 billion miss to annualized Q2 GDP estimates, and well below the lowest estimate, 60+ weeks of constant upward BLS revisions to initial claims "data" and not to mention assorted atrocious economic (note: not to be confused with market - the two are now completely unlinked) data from around the globe. And what does the White House say: the data shows that the "US is making progress."

When we all find out a couple of months from now that the US is already back in a recsession, which the MSM refused to report on before the election, this time will also be known as the 'Final Death of Journalism'

What is noticeable in this election is the sheer amount of dishonesty coming from the left and the media. These people have no shame. In the US the mainstream media is really just a bigger more dangerous version of the CBC.

Romney/Ryan is a far better pick than Obama/Biden, and yet the media will stoop to any depth to carry the latter through to the finish line. Even if it means lying.

At this point the election is in the hands of the ordinary American, to do the right thing, and make the right decision. If they make the wrong choice they will pay a huge price.

I cannot help but feel a bit sorry for the USA these days. This is such a hugely important election and yet many still seem unsure what to do.

America "progresses" towards the perfect equality of the grave yard. Socialists applaud.

Once the election is over, the motivation to cover up the extent of the problem to the general electorate will end. Prepare for a bleak economic winter.

Ahhhhh Modern journalists. . . . Too inept to do anything but get up off their knees and do what BamBam tells them to do.

Never mind the economic catastrophe bearing down on us, did you hear how Romney once traveled with his dog on his car roof?

Rabbit
Lost the Shitsu vote for sure.

This election demonstrates that all the talk of the blogosphere/alt media undermining the traditional, auxiliarly DNC media is 90% hype. The legacy media is still in control.

The legacy media is still in control.

I predict November 6th will be the last day you show up here.
There are millions of unemployed Americans who would crawl over broken glass to vote against Obama.

I think it remains the case that the legacy media's power has dwindled significantly. It still has some life left in it, however. The bigger problem lies with Romney himself, and the fact that he has always been a liberal Republican. All through the primaries, I got the impression that he really failed to ignite his base, and that he received the nomination only because the other candidates had more failings. Failing to motivate your base inevitably makes it tough to motivate voters in general. The legacy media has found, in Romney, a somewhat easy target, in part because Romney's contradictory philosophical beliefs make it so.

How can the guy, for instance, credibly criticize Obamacare when he himself ushered in something very similar when he was governor?

The election is not over yet, by a long shot, given the MSM's generally lousy polling record. If Romney does lose, however, many Republicans will be asking themselves why on earth they ever nominated the guy in the first place.

Given the state of the American economy, a serious challenger to Obama ought to be a shoo-in.

"US is making progress."

They are making progress!!! Pretty soon there will be no jobs. No nothin'.And then that d***ed fool will be a roaring success. He'll have s***ed up everything he ever laid his hands on.

Roll on November until they can get rid of this useless git!!!

Sure, they keep singing the song. Except they sing to an empty theater, audience wandered off ages ago. Nobody is watching the show.

Try again.

44guy,

I live in Alberta so I haven't seen any of that.
What I see are lots of 'Now Hiring' signs all over the place.

I'm with you OZ!!

the oil patch is screaming for any skilled trades man who can carry thier own wieght . If you can do that ...the average joe could make 100k+ in the oil patch ....something to be said for a good long hard day's work!!

Just watching Neil Cavuto show on Fox and he had on some dufus Democrat, Obama apologist who had the nerve to say "America isn't broke it's the richest country in the world". Wow Blind as a bat...and dumb as a post.

Never underestimate the enemedia.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle”
Sun Tzu, The Art of War

Right up to PMSH winning a majority the the media was reporting that it was going to be a minority government, either Liberal or Conservative, too close to call.Don't know where 44guy lives but the company I work for are in the middle of a large hiring blitz, they are having a hard time holding on to new hires as the renumeration package isn't enough to stop the newbies from looking for greener pastures.People leaving for better jobs doesn't sound like much of a recession to me.

That insipid nasal twanged arse-wipe, Michael Colton , was reposting on CBC World news again this morning that Romney had already lost the elction and was in denial. That disck couldn't reort "the news" if is slapped his pimply face! He is a biased message platform and and a friggin leftist sock puppet. The article was so one sided it was a joke, but the CBC passes it off like its real journalism or something.

Boots, beans and bullets, stock up. Its gonna get ugly.

So Alberta is hiring like crazy yet 44guy can't get a job.According to 44guy signs of a recession are everywhere where he lives but he can get a steady diet of cotracts, alrighty then.

"Over a year ago, President Obama proposed the American Jobs Act – a plan that independent economists have said would create up to 2 million jobs."

The problem is that there over 20 million Americans who are unemployed, underemployed or have gone onto the disability rolls when their unemployment payments ran out. Solving 10% of the problem is not going to turn the economy around.

Iran wants to nuke Israel and will soon have the capability to do so, world food prices are going to spike this winter due to this years drought, 20% of the world's energy flows through the Straits of Hormuz which Iran threatens to blockade or mine, the US keeps printing money and lending it to itself risking hyperinflation, the Eurozone member countries are on the brink of fiscal ruin with light rioting and the Chinese economy is lurching to a halt. Have I forgotten anything?

Oh right, forgot about the 'Arab Spring'.

We live in interesting times and they're going to get more interesting very quickly.
