I remember those days. That was the worst era for cars.
They forgot the 1980 Dodge Charger.

hard to rail against Walmart and Canadian Tire made in China crap after being reminded of those cars, I'm sure the designers and engineers and linemen of the time are comfortably in retirement...

Thank who/what-ever they don't build cars like they used to....besides being dogs they were still biodegradable........

According to the left, all that is needed is a global orgy and the full implementation of moral relativism to bring peace. Geez, get with it already. no judgement of right or wrong allowed. such idea are archaic. Just ask all the infertile women from STI's who were just doing what is expected of them - hooking up.

What do you call people who use condoms? Parents. If they can't prevent pregnancy, they can't prevent disease, yet it makes parents thinking it so true-right?

Condoms are way less safe than wearing a safety belt; hence the high unwanted and timely pregnancy rate.

Just screw freely and forget everything else happening.

From 1970 Hemi Super Bird to 4 banger turbo in a K Car.
Now that's a real Nakba!

they couldn't let Lada stel the show:-)))

this isn't the SEX thread!!!!!

The whole "malaise era" thing - that's been creeping into standard usage for a few years now. Interesting that Carter's most defeatist speech has come to define the whole of the period from Nixon's resignation to the first year or two of Reagan's presidency. I wonder if anything from Obama The Great Orator's presidency will be used to define the last four years?

Yeesh! A MONZA!

Hold me, Martha...

I've just found a new oxymoron: muscle car + malaise-era.

My sophisticated boss at the time asked how I could ever buy a new 1971 Camaro Z28 (330hp, 4spd, 410 rr) over a BMW 2002 TII that I also looked at the time.

Told him because they wouldn't be building cars like the Z again for long, long time, if ever.

And now we have the late Roman empire excesses complex where SUVs have 500hp motors.
Bizarre.

mojo @ 10:15 - Yes, a Monza. In 1975 you could get it with a 350 and a four speed. Headers and a 4bbl really helped; due to the coupling brace between the tranny and the rear axle, the car launched hard and twisted frames were common.
