What I've seen over the past few days at the DNC has been disturbing: a whipping up of the fervor of the crowd, like a lynch mob, not so much for their candidates but against their opponents. Partisanship's not unusual in a political convention, except that this crowd appears to be totally in thrall to the idea of Obama as POTUS, even though his record totally stinks and it's obvious individuals and families in the U.S. are much worse off than they were four years ago, with no reason to expect the prospects getting any better, despite all the talk of things having to get better -- that's the "hope" part of Zero's agenda, completely empty, but the crowd went wild.

Last night's speech was full of platitudes and short on a plan. It was all "I'm the good guy, you can count on me, and life's been really tough for me, so feel sorry for me, and vote for me."

Gag.

David Brooks must have heard from the NYT last night that he was being too negative about Oblahblah -- he certainly had a hang-dog look all week as he desperately tried to find something positive to say -- because his verdict was that the DNC was more successful than the RNC. If he and the NYT are correct, we're in so much trouble ...

I'm surprised that no one I've read -- and I've been at a lot of sites -- has mentioned the fear on Obama's face last night.

He was right down to the bone, looking grim, fearful, and forced -- and found it next to impossible to join in the crowd's laughter. As ET has so frequently and accurately pointed out, his life, his presidency, is a fiction and watching it attacked as fiercely as it has been over the past few weeks seems to have completely unnerved him.

I'm looking forward to the debates, where Mitt Romney will be well-prepared based on his past experiences of growing businesses and jobs as he faces the Chameleon on His Unicorn weaving rainbows out of ... nothing.

If I knew that the Republicans were going to win in November, I'd feel sorry for Oblahblah as he glugs down to the bottom of the pond -- but I'm not sure enough American people have the proper eye glasses to discern the Chameleon on His Unicorn from, what they think is, one of the best POTUSes the U.S. has ever had.
