About Kate
Why this blog?
Until this moment
I have been forced
to listen while media
and politicians alike
have told me
"what Canadians think".
In all that time they
never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio - "You don't speak for me."

And some of you mock me for saying Barry's done like dinner. Crispy chicken, oh yeah.
This was funny, but it revealed the messianic like adoration there is for Obama.
Reminds me of the messianic adoration for Lenin, Stalin and Hitler. They did not end well. The Politburo, led by Stalin, ignored a stroke incapacitated Lenin's wishes, Hitler committed suicide basically alone, and Stalin's stroke became terminal while his associates debated what to do and just let him die. Excellent ends for them all.
Saddam Hussein ended up on a rope in his own jail. I like that ending better.
The Democrats have replaced God with a man who has feet of clay.
Did you see the new cover of Time? Always those wonderful pictures of Obama. Also check out Maclean's which has a puff piece about Obama.
Once one of them starts laughing, the rest will pile on.
Feeding frenzy.
Staring to look good.
Funny stuff. My favorite topic though is still when Jon Stewart covers Fast and Furious.

More Jon Stewart Fast and Furious fun: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MvLU7ob7mwA
Phantom, when have I ever mocked you? I doubted you, and that's rather different. Specifically you and I have different ideas about the intelligence of the American voter, that's all. That said, I will agree that this is the first time I've ever seen Obama mocked by the MSM.
I thought this the best comment on the link. Its true kids do see reality better than propagandized adults some times.

50 dollar lesson:
I recently asked my friends' little girl what she wanted to bewhen she grows up. She said she wanted to be President some day. Both ofher parents, liberal Democrats, were standing there, so I asked her, If you were President what would be the first thing you would do?She replied, I'd give food and houses to all the homeless people. Her parents beamed with pride.Wow...what a worthy goal. I told her, But you don't have towait until you're President to do that. You can come over to my house and mow the lawn, pull weeds, and sweep my yard, and I'll pay you $50. Then I'll take you over to the grocery store where the homeless guy hangs out, and you can give him the $50 to use toward food and a new house. She thought that over for a few seconds, then she looked me straight in the eye and asked, Why doesn't the homeless guy come over and do the work, and you can just pay him the $50?I said, Welcome to the Republican Party. Her parents still aren't speaking to me.
cgh, never doubt The Phantom. The Phantom sees all, knows all.
Mocking however, that's ok. ~:)
Revnant Dream, you are a very bad person. Fie upon you sir, for corrupting an innocent young socialist like that. The poor child will never be able to listen to The One again without snickering.
Revnant, great story. And the best bit is, "Her parents still aren't speaking to me." Of course not. She's brighter than they are, and now all of them know it. And she'll never be able to listen to her parents ranting on about some leftie cause without snickering either.
Phantom, I still think there's lots of Hope and Changers out there still trying to live the dream. I'm betting it's very close in November, but it depends upon how much more bad news Obama has to absorb over the next six weeks.
God Bless Clint Eastwood.
Nicola T.: Also check out Maclean's which has a puff piece about Obama.
What other kind of piece could they write about him? The guy's a shape changer and can be defined only by how others perceive him, thus the hours of adulatory testimonies, ad nauseum, telling the American people who the Great O is. (Zero's more in need of definition than Mitt Romney, who actually has a record of business acumen and personal generosity.)
As I pointed out in an earlier thread, this is the real meaning of Hope and Change: “I, the Healer of the planet, hope for the best and, when the worst happens, I change things real fast!”
My only concern is, as ET has pointed out many times, too many people these days live in Fantasy Land and when a chemelian comes along asking for their vote, they're all too happy to comply, because it makes them feel good.
Kyrie eleison.
I don't particularly agree with Jon Stewart's politics, but so what...the guy is a comedic genius. Dan S: those were very funny videos...
"when a chemelian comes along...." is that some sort of drug enhanced elian experience?
I'm not a talented writer and my memory isn't what it used to be, but I am going to try and explain how I see this anyway
Many years ago I read in Time magazine an article that was saying that the anti-tobacco ads that cigarette companies had been forced to pay for ( or had to contribute to or something) were so absurd in how they mocked cigarette smokers that in the end the ad was actually making fun of itself or of the topic.
the ads were so absurd that in the end it was not smoking that looked stupid, it was the ad
thus these ads had absolutely no " deterrent" effect ( can't think of the correct word here ) on smokers or young people who thought smoking is cool and were about to try their first cigarette
and of course that this was all intentional, as cigarette companies had hired experts and knew exactly what they were doing
well that is what I see in the video
the jokes are taken to such a level of absurdity that in the end people think (consciously or not); Democrats are not that bad, Obama is not that bad, this is so absurd and so silly!!!
that is how I see it
and just like smokers kept theirs, in the end they will keep their bad habit of voting democrat
What? Only now comedians can do their jobs? Really?
Canadian Friend anyone who watched John Stewart on a regular basis would never dream of voting anyone but Obama anyway. Same deal with SNL etc etc etc. These are the people that actually laugh out loud at this kind of stuff. Myself I can say "yeah that's funny" I guess but I'd never laugh at it.
Canadian Friend has it down.
Repuke convention gets senile Clint while the Dems get Eva Longoria, Scarlett Johannson and Natalie Portman!! Rednecks get Paul "lyin'" Ryan, lefties get Clinton destroying the entire Repub platform! Any wonder that Obama is going to win? Oh just wait, y'all still think magic undies mittens is going to win!!! Oh you simple, simple people!!
cgh said: "Phantom, I still think there's lots of Hope and Changers out there still trying to live the dream."
Certainly that's what the Dems and their 'bots in the media -want- us to think, and I do agree that there are some.
But the actual number of hard-core supporters? Its really small. Furthermore most of them don't believe the hype.
Yes bill, we know, communism is better, much better.
Heh, bill's comment shows the shallowness of lefty intellectual pool in this election. The weakest presidentcy in the past century, and what do they get for endorsements? Captains of industry? Leaders of science? Titans of finance?
Nope. They drag out the bimbo brigade: Eva, Scarlett, Natalie and Bill. (After all, they don't call him Slick Willie for nuthin'.}
Do we get from the Democrats serious economic and foreign policy choices?
Nope. They drag out the drug-addled tunings of the Woodstock alumni. I mean, come on, James Taylor???? Cher????
The way you guys are going, given the downsizing of the venue this time, in four years you lot will be able to hold the Democrat national convention in a coffee house.
Or an old age home.
Canadian Friend is onto something there.
This isn't real mockery.
It's mock-mockery, hyper-irony. Irony squared, or cubed.
It's not mocking Obamessiah, only some of his a little-over-the-top idol-worshippers who after all got a bit too enthusiastic and cursed Obamessiah with impossible expectations.
The jist of the bullshit (funny as it was) is that, heh, unlike the tight-ass Repubs we are bigger, broader, more open.
We can laugh at ourselves, unlike those earnest God-fearing patriotic family-value guys with their ridiculous America-is-the-greatest-country-in-the-history-of-Jesus rhetoric.
The Obamessiah can take a joke. SEE!
