Why this blog?
Until this moment
I have been forced
to listen while media
and politicians alike
have told me
"what Canadians think".
In all that time they
never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio - "You don't speak for me."

Yes, the clear evidence of voter suppression is very, very damning for the GOP.
It appears to me its getting harder to get photo ID for fluffy the poodle and granny who's been dead for 16 years.. its probably racism or something..
Illegals can't get photo id.
Thanks Marc; Hopefully all the people that need to see this in America, are seeing it. Canada had its round of lying liberals, it lasted 40+ years, once the yoke of communist/liberalism comes off, unbridled opportunities and growth happen. Witness the agriculture sector here in Canada, kill the Wheat Board and, shazam, higher prices for producers, get rid of your communist now America, cause if you don't it festers, festers into a Peeair/Jean/Paul cabal of ,take from producers to give to,,, not to the poor, "Oh No" give to ourselves, right all you eastern thieving lieberals WK. America is at a precipice, it can do what the crooked media wants and re-elect a dud/Marxist, or it can get growth and free markets humming again, creating wealth not govt. dependancy, hopefully it chooses the path of freedom and prosperity.
Er this appears to be related to the quality of voter registration rolls rather than anything that presenting ID at the poll booth would fix.
Those damm, racist,GOP bastards! My grandparents and father-in-law(rest their souls) are sure PO'd that they can't vote.So when do the muzzie riots start? Methinks it's about time that the redneck GOPers started taking some demoncrats on hunting trips. Just saying.
Vote early vote... once?
What the hay? You mean my franchise only allows one vote?
That's not very progressive.
Looks like there's more than one empty chair in Florida.
The Democrat motto is "Don't forget to vote, and vote often".
Las, don't you think it would be hard for a dead guy or a family pet to get picture ID?
I guess Floridians are living longer, what with fewer dead people voting.
Phantom: that's beside my point. It's not hard for a dead guy to be on a register list. The registrations are littered with corpses. That's what needs to be cleaned up.
There's no evidence of mass voting fraud in the states.
We have the same problem here in Canada. In all elections. You should have to show Citizenship Card or Birth Certificate for all Federal, Provincial and Municipal elections....
Very interesting data. How could such a difference in registrations occur?
If the registration list is filled with false names and addresses, AND there is no voter ID, this means that, let's say, 100 activists could use those fake names and addresses and could each vote, oh, let's say, 20 times.
They'd vote on early voting days (and the Democrats insist on these being open to more than the military) and on the actual election day. Hmm. That's 2,000 votes for those 100 people. Makes a difference.
You should have to show Citizenship Card or Birth Certificate for all Federal, Provincial and Municipal elections....
No piss off. That's National ID by the backdoor and I don't want it thank you. That's why I'm a bit wary of the whole Voter ID issue. The propoenents of REAL ID want to use it to foist a National ID on Americans.
Dipping a finger into a dye solution bottle at the polling station in order to deter voting more than once on voting day would (like the Afghanies do) would also be helpful.
Simple, yet effective!
This reminds me of the story of when Dief visited Joey Smallwood in Newfoundland. They were driving in a car and Dief asked Joey how he could keep getting elected. Joey pointed to a cemetery they were passing. Dief nodded and the question was answered.
Las, To the contrary, I understood that there was substantial voter fraud involving Acorn and from what I have just watched, there's substantial voter fraud with illegals voting. And that is what is known.
RFB- I fully agree with the suggestion for a Voter ID card, which would prove citizenship.
I've been at election tables on voting day, where some people would come in without a registration card and without being on the registered list. Fine. But all they would have to do to get a ballot is to show two pieces of identification, that showed RESIDENCY in the polling area. A driver's licence, a hydro bill.
No proof that they were a citizen and legally entitled to vote. I've seen several people in their 30s and 40s come in unable to speak English and couldn't understand what was being asked of them to prove residency. This would mean that they wouldn't have passed a citizenship test! [Elderly are not required to pass the language test].
ET, the chance that those people weren't citizens are infantesimal. Voter ID Card = security state.
Pat: that was all a lot of innuendo and air.
Iggy himself claimed to have voted for Kerry and I don't doubt he did.
Why should the level of proof required to vote be less than the level of proof needed to get on an aircraft?
Hummmmmm. It seems libertarians are stupid would like to see a voting system like Iraq. You know.Where Saddam won by 100%.Get many splinters from fence sitting there, Losers Are Simple?
The national ID theme is a red herring. Who doesnt already have the required Id for voting? Generally those that aren't allowed to
LAS, apart from your declaration that voter fraud is 'infinitesimal', is there any proof that you have? Surely you don't expect that just Your Word is enough evidence.
Again, I've seen people come to the polls, unregistered, unable to understand the requests asked of them for identification, and, with someone translating for them and assisting them, they get to vote. Hmmm.
There's no evidence of mass voting fraud in the states.

and there is no evidence we can take that comment seriously
There was massive evidence of fraudulent ballots, and other jiggery-pokery (uncounted ballots) in Florida in 2000, all in Democrat controlled counties stuffed with hispanics.
LAS you call this no evidence?

Recent Fraud
State Year Details
AR 1998 A contractor with ACORN-affiliated Project Vote was arrested for falsifying about 400 voter registration cards.
CO 2005 Two ex-ACORN employees were convicted in Denver of perjury for submitting false voter registrations.
2004 An ACORN employee admitted to forging signatures and registering three of her friends to vote 40 times.
CT 2008 The New York Post reported that ACORN submitted a voter registration card for a 7-year-old Bridgeport girl. Another 8,000 cards from the same city will be scrutinized for possible fraud.
FL 2009 In September, 11 ACORN workers were accused of forging voter registration applications in Miami-Dade County during the last election. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the state attorney’s office scoured hundreds of suspicious applications provided by ACORN and found 197 of 260 contained personal ID information that did not match any living person.
2008 Election officials in Brevard County have given prosecutors more than 23 suspect registrations from ACORN. The state's Division of Elections is also investigating complaints in Orange and Broward Counties.
2004 A Florida Department of Law Enforcement spokesman said ACORN was “singled out” among suspected voter registration groups for a 2004 wage initiative because it was “the common thread” in the agency’s fraud investigations.
IN 2008 Election officials in Indiana have thrown out more than 4,000 ACORN-submitted voter registrations after finding they had identical handwriting and included the names of many deceased Indianans, and even the name of a fast food restaurant.
MI 2008 Clerks in Detroit found a "sizeable number of duplicate and fraudulent [voter] applications" from the Michigan branch of ACORN. Those applications have been turned over to the U.S. Attorney's office for investigation.
2004 The Detroit Free Press reported
that “overzealous or unscrupulous campaign workers in several Michigan counties are under investigation for voter-registration fraud, suspected of attempting to register nonexistent people or forging applications for already-registered voters.” ACORN-affiliate Project Vote was one of two groups suspected of turning in the documents.
MO 2008 Nearly 400 ACORN-submitted registrations in Kansas City have been rejected due to duplication or fake information.
2007 Four ACORN employees were indicted in Kansas City for charges including identity theft and filing false registrations
during the 2006 election.
2006 Eight ACORN employees in St. Louis were indicted on federal election fraud charges. Each of the eight faces up to five years in prison for forging signatures and submitting false information.
2003 Of 5,379 voter registration cards ACORN submitted in St. Louis, only 2,013 of those appeared to be valid. At least 1,000 are believed to be attempts to register voters illegally.
MN 2004 During a traffic stop, police found more than 300 voter registration cards in the trunk of a former ACORN employee, who had violated a legal requirements that registration cards be submitted to the Secretary of State within 10 days of being filled out and signed.
NC 2008 County elections officials have sent suspicious voter registration applications to the state Board of Elections. Many of the applications had similar or identical names, but with different addresses or dates of birth.
2004 North Carolina officials investigated ACORN for submitting fake voter registration cards.
NM 2008 Prosecutors are investigating more than 1,100 ACORN-submitted voter registration cards after a county clerk found them to be fraudulent. Many of the cards included duplicate names and slightly altered personal information.
2005 Four ACORN employees submitted as many as 3,000 potentially fraudulent signatures on the group’s Albuquerque ballot initiative. A local sheriff added: “It’s safe to say the forgery was widespread.”
2004 An ACORN employee registered a 13-year-old boy to vote. Citing this and other examples, New Mexico State Representative Joe Thompson stated that ACORN was “manufacturing voters” throughout New Mexico.
NV 2009 Nevada authorities indicted ACORN on 26 counts of voter registration fraud and 13 counts of illegally compensating canvassers. ACORN provided a bonus compensation program called “Blackjack” or “21+” for any canvasser who registered more than 20 voters per shift, which is illegal under Nevada law.

this is only part of the list.
voter fraud really is a problem in the USA and it is committed mostly by democrat supporters

Need proof of dead people voting? There are 11,365 registered Democrats. There is no other logical reason for the existence of so many registered Democrats after the debacle known as Obama.
LAS, apart from your declaration that voter fraud is 'infinitesimal', is there any proof that you have?
Asking others to prove a negative. An ET classic.
At least CF offers something. However, a few hundred votes here and there aren't going to tip the scales.
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10000872396390443864204577621732936167586.html
Here is an interesting WSJ article. In it, it notes that absentee ballot fraud is 50 times more common than identity ballot fraud-and voter ID would do nothing about it.
I am not against having to provide some photo ID to vote as long as it isn't necessarily government issued ID. That is the path to a security state. National ID was used to administer the Rwandan genocide.
LAS - your comment that 'voter fraud is infinitesimal' is NOT a negative! Are you trying to tell me that the term 'infinitesimal' is a negative???
What I'm asking is for you to provide evidence to support your opinions! You made the assertion. Prove it.
Now you've made yet another fallacious statement. You now declare that a 'government issued ID' is 'the path to a security state' and you suggest that this enables a genocide'. Prove it.
Prove that a passport, a health card, a driver's licence, which are all government issued identification and all have photo identification, are necessarily definitive of a 'security state' (please define this term) AND that this leads to genocide. Prove it.
LAS ET's request is that you prove a positive not prove a negative. Your 'Voting fraud is infinitesimal' is a positive assertion. You should have no problem proving it if indeed it is true.
LAS, your Canadian issued birthcertificate is just that a birth certificate, it proves citizenship only. Not where you live or anyother personal info. And everyone already has one in Canada if they were born here. They just have to apply for it. The same with immigrants who become legal citizens, they are given a Canadian Citizenship card otherwise they can not become a citizen. What is so difficult to bring either one of these two pieces of ID to the voting station, along with a drivers license or other picture ID etc....
"plans currently underway to purchase a $35 million beachfront estate on the island of Oahu for the Obama family to move into in January 2013 when they leave the White"
Read more http://hillbuzz.org/who-is-funding-the-purchase-of-the-35-million-beachfront-hawaiian-estate-for-barack-and-michelle-obama-to-move-into-come-january-2013-2013
If LAS considers a national ID card for voting to be a 'security state' she sure haasn't been to an american airport in the last decade.
Isn't is funny that she downplays and denies convicted voter fraud when Liberals and Democrats win but on the strength of a single public opinion poll sponsored by a left wing thinktank(oxymoron?) Steven Harper's government must be illegitimate because robocall fraud is clearly proven by the poll. Grasp at straws much LAS?
I think it is a racial miracle , hwat obama has accomplished. There once was a time in The United States that black people couldn't even vote. Now, under obama, they can vote as many times as they want. Two times. Three times. To the point where they don't even have to be fruitful and multiply to have increased political clout. Why there isn't a black person left in Wisconsin - they have lost more black voters because of voter ID then there have been black voters in the state.
LAS said at 7:07pm : "There's no evidence of mass voting fraud in the states."
Ya, except the frickin' chart up at the top of this page, for starters. The problem with your argument dude is that you don't have one. You have what we commonly call nuttin'.
You have a short memory too, if you don't remember the mess in Florida from 2000. Think back and recall the number of corrupt DemocRat partisans uncovered in the county-level government apparatus. Misbehavior by low-level officials is how voter rolls get corrupted in the first place.
The true extent of fraud is implied by the extreme lengths to which the DemocRats are going in the effort to suppress voter ID laws. They wouldn't bother if their re-election wasn't going to be affected. When a voter ID law comes into effect and one party's membership suddenly drops by double digit percentage, that's a situation worth looking into, wouldn't you say?
Nice straw man with the "national ID card" issue, by the way. Voter ID doesn't have to be a nationally issued Gestapo-style nightmare.
Ontario voter ID is:
Ontario Driver's Licence
Ontario Health Card
Canadian Passport
Certificate of Indian Status
Credit Card
Hospital Card
Examples of documents that show both proof of identity and proof of residence are:
Ontario Driver's Licence
Ontario Motor Vehicle Permit
Cancelled Personalized Cheque
Property Tax Assessment
Credit Card Statement
Bank Account Statement
Phone Bill
Notice the inclusion of "credit card" and "credit card statement" on the list. I understand pretty much any utility bill or other official communication from a company or any layer of government suffices to prove residence.
Its not bullet proof, but it isn't meant to be. All that is meant here is to prevent hundreds of partisan cheaters showing up at multiple polling stations.
That's what is needed in the USA, and it is what the DemocRats are -frantic- to prevent. If they don't get those 12 million illegal votes plus the whole of every mausoleum and PetSmart in the country, they're going to suffer the largest election loss in US history. Even with all those illegal votes the outcome is very much in question.
I smell burning straw, LAS.
By the way, you already live in a police state. How do you like it so far?
Voer ID is useless if the voting machines can be programmed;this has been proven to be feasible as the machines were proven to be programmed in the Repub primaries to flip votes from 'other' candidates to the 'chosen' candidate. Further, the votes are to be counted in Spain by an outfit owned by Georgie porgie soreass; so I have read.
Stalin said; 'The election outcome is determined not by the voters but by he who counts the votes.
http://www.westernjournalism.com/spanish-company-will-count-american-votes-overseas-in-november/
There was also the case in north-western Saskatchewan a few years ago when in a provincial election the were more votes cast for a candidate that there were registered voters in the constituency. Odd that.
However, a few hundred votes here and there aren't going to tip the scales.
Wrong again. As this article shows, The 11% Solution, only a few counties are needed to tip a state's balance. In another article, whose reference eludes me, one strategist says the election comes down to two dozen counties in Florida, North Carolina, Ohio, and Virginia.
Absent any Watergate-level revelations, both parties know that the Dems are going to take California, New York, and Illinois. Similarly, the Republicans will take all the Great Plains states from the Dakotas down to Texas. And in the so-called battleground states, there are districts that are solidly GOP, while others are solidly Democrat. It's in the 'swing' counties that the activity counts, and that's where - as we saw in 2000 - a few hundred votes can, and did, decide the office.
The thing is, Republicans register and vote, just like they have jobs and families. It's what they do. Democrats? Not so much. So the Dems need voter fraud or a really unpopular GOP candidate to squeak by. They may have the latter in Romney, but you can bet they'll be trotting out the former, just to make sure.
LAS
how much do they pay you to do what you do here?
