  1. Terrific idea! Get the kids off the streets, out of school, and into their own house!
Though, sadly, it wouldn’t work here in B.C.,with our sky-high housing prices. Maybe we could provide the kids with yurts or igloos or something in place of educating them.
We could call the program,”beggars with houses”,sounds good, and feels good!

  2. We’s from the govmt and hear to hep. Seriously, there are lots of ways at addressing problems than government throwing money at it.
btw, like the web site without the black background. A lot easier to read and will visit more often.

  3. Great Idea while we;re at it –
    Free Tuition
    Free Food
    Free Clothing
    Free Arts
    Free Drugs
    Free Health
    Free Living
    Free from worry
    No work
    No Taxes
    No Bad things ever
    …And then I woke up

  4. giving a kid $221,000 when they turn 18, where have I heard that one before? (hint – something very similar is done in Alberta, really close to a town called Ponoka) Isn’t working there either. But yeah, we really need to seriously re-evaluate the whole brick & mortar school house situation – because it ISN’T working. We send our kids to school and some “well meaning”???? fool promptly tries to replace our values with theirs. Screw math & science. Conservatives are attacking science? hmmm interesting and I’m rambling…

  5. Or let’s just step back 50 years and eliminate every variation that has been implemented into the education system. They would actually graduate with the ability to read , write and be math proficient. Their heads would not be filled with two spirited garbage and the social engineers now in control of the education system would have to go back to being greeters at Walmart or spend their time looking at kiddie porn on the net while waiting for that job offer from McDonalds. Co-parenting is another word that would disappear to the relief of most parents.

  6. They would do what the Indians do here. The well offs reserves who give a whack of cash when you turn 18. Buy a hot Truck or car.
Than with in three months smash it up, or kill themselves in an auto accident.

  7. I believe that 90% of the government could easily be privatized and we would all be richer for it. We home schooled our children for less than $2,000 each per year. Learning is a natural process. How much did it cost to teach you how to walk or talk? Is what you learned in school more difficult than that?

  8. It’s an idea that should be used on our Indian Reservations.
Here’s a quarter of a million (or half a million)bucks. You get it on the condition that you forfeit your Indian status forever and ever.
