About Kate
Why this blog?
Until this moment
I have been forced
to listen while media
and politicians alike
have told me
"what Canadians think".
In all that time they
never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio - "You don't speak for me."

Neil Young, another Canadian contribution to the space program.
Bwahahahahaha....the leftard, tree killing MSM is going down the tubes, and now the leftard networks are racing to see if they can beat them to killing themselves off on the net.
Faster,please.
(don't they have editors/proofreaders?)
Not much hope when they can screw something that easy up.
Mistaking one of the most famous Americans in history to an entertainer - nice.
But journalists aren't shallow vacuous airheads, oh nnnoooooooo.
How do you confuse a spaceman with a space cadet?
Niel Armstrong vs. journalist.
On one hand somebody who's actuall DONE SOMETHING!! vs. sneering, snotty, self important asshole who leeches cheap fame by pointing at others and saying "Look what they did!".
If you're the journalist you're probably secretely pretty envious and resentful
Well someone is bound to say it; Neil Young does sound like he's close to death.
Wasn't he the first singer in space?
Wasn't he the first singer in space?
Twice
Neil Young has not physically left the planets atmosphere but in I'm sure that in the '60s and '70s he explored the cosmos with the aid of certain drugs.
How ignorant does one have to be to work at MSNBC?
I heard from a reliable source on the internet, that the Moon landings were actually faked in a secret film studio in secretive Hollywood!
I'd have liked to have sent Neil Young to the moon,Neil's singing indicated his vocal chords were located deep in his sinuses, and I could never stand that whiny, nasal voice,"tin soldiers and Nixon coming..."
The moron who wrote that wasn't alive when Armstrong walked on the moon, and most likely wasn't alive when Neil Young last had a hit record.
Look who is talking, someone who always get confused and messed up with the links.
no big deal with a copy paste error.
I thought it was Louis Armstrong who was the first man who walked on the Sun...
Stan,I'm still mourning Louis all these years after his death.
When I was young I used to think the 60's and 70's rock bands played "hot" music, until I heard Louis Armstrong and King Oliver!
Hey, whatever. 'Wave of the future … his name's Armstrong, isn't it?
Quebecoius NDP sepatiste (freeloading welfare leech)
Yes, moron it's quite predictable that you would defend the media no matter what. Freeloading left dicks like you defend the media because the ey are your major allies.
BTW? How can I help you in your attempts to get Quebec to separate? The faster you shitstains are a separate country the faster we can treat you how you SHOULD BE treated.
Mind you Qubecers haven't the balls to separate anyway. They've proven that.
How is typing "Young" instead of "Armstrong" a cut & paste error?
Walked on the moon and 26 days later played the guitar at Woodstock,
Eat yer heart out Chuck Norris!
I don't know how you can blame either the copywriter or the proofreader (assuming there was one). Probably a good bet neither was old enough to have heard or seen about it in real time. And since they don't teach history in schools anymore, how could they possibly have known? /sarc off.
FrenchDipster wasn't alive the last time Michael Jackson had a hit record, speaking of moon walking.
HaHaHaHaHaHa.. Want to see how they blame this one on Romney.
Give me NBC's budget and I promise to pick up my game.
Just how can a major news organization screw this up? Just how.....? Cronkhite must be puking in his grave.
Kate.. I would pick up my "game" and go home.
These News organizations loose credibility more each day. All they know is Marx along with Multiculturalism. They fear unpolitical language more than accuracy. Race a head of truth.
The minds who print this thin gruel are into covering up Islam more than the massacres it inspires.
Stuck on post modern myths.
That reminds me...I need to hit the tip jar. As far as NBC goes this is pathetic and the age of the dummy that posted that headline is irrelevant.
Case in point. I just asked my "adopted" 22 year old, Canadian, high school drop out son if he heard that Neill Armstrong had died. His response...What the astronaut?
If we ever run out of construction work I'm gonna recommend him for a copy editor job at a major news network.
Just days after the USDA take away his Tour de France titles that Armstrong guy is dead?? WTF?
I remember that July day very well. We were in Vesuvius Bay, Saltspring Island visiting family friends. The only television in the neighbourhood belonged to a lovely pair of old sisters who lived in a cottage. We all piled into their tiny living room and watched Armstrong on their small black and white TV. A special memory I will never forget.
A humble, laconic, and heroic man. Armstrong loomed huge amongst us ten year olds on that iconic day. When we got back to school at the end of that summer we all talked about nothing else.
Ave atque vale Neil Armstrong. Wherever you are, you were a hero to millions. God bless and RIP.
So if I get this straight, according to the MSM Neil "Satchmo" Armstrong, having been stripped naked writing a book without a title while watching the tour de France, has died young in St. Louis after impaling himself on a lance given to him by Moon Unit Zappa fueled by a particularly bad bout of 'roid rage. Fake but true!
So, do I get a job as a journalist?
Seriously though Neil, RIP. I still remember those grainy black and white tv images and your words which inspired me and countless millions of others.
Any word from NBC about responses from Neil's fellow Appolo Creed flightmates...Buzz Lightyear and Phil Collins?
The numbskull that wrote this probably doesn't have the foggiest idea who Neil Armstrong was or what he accomplished.
Outrageous and inexcuseable. And they wonder why their relevance is in the toilet.
syncro @ 8:01 - excellent, just excellent.
Stolen from the comments at jammie wf
"One small mistake for them, one giant laugh for blogkind."
The world will remember Mr. Neil Armstrong, nbc not so much.
Was in Thompson Manitoba, all the extended family and neighbours were there, The TV volume up - just a small b&w, the wee ones were allowed to be on our stomach's on the floor closest to the tv.
Much shhhhhh-ing all around.
Just amazing to see.
RIP Neil Armstrong, one of the greatest in our times.
The thing about the MSM? It's full of schmucks.
Watching it happen
Everyone's Gone To The Moon
Thanks target practice. I want us to remember the man and if you are old enough, where you were on that day. The MSN are ill informed losers but we all know that. Let's make this a thread that remembers a great explorer. I would love to hear your stories.
Woodstock really messes up the brain.
Unfortunately, those same brains are running our countries, let alone NBC.
Okay we know the MSM are complete morons...
From today's readings appropriately enough:
Psalm 85:13 Righteousness will go before him, and make his FOOTSTEPS a way.
RIP Niel Armstrong

Thank you for your kind words wnnc, it is an iconic day of that era, anyone from age 7-9 and up should remember, even if they didn't see the actual 'live' broadcast it was re-played often enough.
Great links foobert, thanks.
They need help:
Christopher Cross sailed the ocean blue in 1492
Paul Revere & the Raiders number one hit "The British are coming!"
Davy Bowie king of the wild frontier
OTOH, Hans just misspelled Neil. See, it's pretty easy. Let's leave it to leftards to laugh at the mistakes of others and call them stupid for making simple errors. RIP Mr. Armstrong.
I wonder what Jay Leno will say about this on Monday night.
The name Armstrong meant nothing to the public educated pinhead who was not aware a Moon landing had occurred in the distant past because it was deemed to be offensive to minorities who needed that NASA Lunar program money for welfare crack and black market handguns - he was probably taught rock stars like Young didn't get where they were by themselves. Easy to get names and concepts mixed up in lefty history.
Thomas L is paying attention...
Who would ever confuse Neil Armstrong with Niels Bohr?
Yep, you caught me out as I didn't spell check Neil before I posted.
Cheers

While we are on the theme of accuracy; here is some more:
http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/U/US_OBIT_NEIL_ARMSTRONG_ABOUT_THAT_QUOTE?SITE=AP&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT&CTIME=2012-08-26-04-01-54
FAMOUS LOST WORD IN ARMSTRONG'S 'MANKIND' QUOTE
"That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind."
But Armstrong said immediately after the 1969 landing that he had been misquoted. He said he actually said, "That's one small step for `a' man." It's just that people just didn't hear it.
The astronaut acknowledged during a 30th anniversary gathering in 1999 that he didn't hear himself say it either when he listened to the transmission from the July 20, 1969, moon landing.
"The `a' was intended," Armstrong said. "I thought I said it. I can't hear it when I listen on the radio reception here on Earth, so I'll be happy if you just put it in parentheses."
Although no one in the world heard the "`a," some research backs Armstrong.
In 2006, a computer analysis found evidence that Armstrong said what he said he said.
Cheers

Hans. I didn't mean to "catch you". I've made many of the same mistakes that most humans have so I try to have sympathy with them. It was funny that they mistook Young for Armstrong and while I laughed at the mistake, I didn't feel like mocking the error.
