Y2Kyoto: I'll Miss The Polar Bears

Brandon Sun; (link fixed)

Manitoba conservation officials have stumbled across a pleasant surprise — a large number of polar bear dens along the Hudson Bay coast near the Ontario boundary.

The dens lie in an area southeast of Wapusk National Park and east of the Nelson River. It's a region along the southern end of the polar bear's range and not as well-known as Wapusk, Churchill and other areas to the north.

The word "south" must be a typo.

Oh, the doomsday theorists will have some explanation. I always chuckle at how life on earth has been able to evolve and survive and yet all of a sudden no one or no thing can make it without our well meaning intervention.

Link not work.

I guess the ONTARIO NORTHLAND Railway is called the POLAR BEAR EXPRESS...just as a matter of hyperbole........

I was just going to put this in Reader Tips with the suggestion that it be in the "Settled Science" area but the "Y2Kyoto" area works as well.

I found the article by clicking the "news" box on the partial Brandon Sun that loaded. Then scroll down; the story is on the left.

Warning; it includes the obligatory global warning scare bit.

"South" might be a typo, Mike, but 'stumble' is without doubt, fact.

The miracles of Climate Scientology.

There is a new site about polar bears called Polar Bear Science by Dr. Susan J. Crockford of the University of Victoria. It is interesting in that Ian Stirling said one thing in his reports regarding thick ice in the Eastern Beaufort Sea causing higher mortality rates, but did not mention this, in his book published last year.

http://polarbearscience.com/

It was impossible for the bears to be there according to the experts, global warming means their bear dens HAVE to move north to be in their new globally warmed habitat.

It is almost like the polar bears are sensing global cooling or not global no change; and not global warming.

I like the last couple of lines - an admission that the true numbers are greater than their estimates by about 50%.

"The aerial survey estimated the western Hudson Bay bear population at around 1,000.

That's about the same number of bears found in a more detailed study done in 2004. That study, which physically tagged the bears, predicted the number would decline to about 650 by 2011."

simple explanation,,, polar bears cant read and have a poor sense of direction

I am sure some climate alarmist experts will lose their jobs over this. After all they we're 180 degrees out. Also, crying wolf has it's consequences, especially when it is a $Trillion dollar world wide, global wolf.

The so called university experts have been decrying the loss of polar bears ever since they found that people have great empathy for the cuddly cubs. This empathy leads to green donations to expand their world wide redistribution schemes.
The Eskimos (I denounce myself) have been saying that the polar bears are indeed thriving.
How dare the Eskimos disagree with the experts and their computer projections.

A 100% wonderful essay, a must read for a wonderful insight Into Global Warmongering.

And this from the same type of sheeple who lost 250 THOUSAND caribou, and started screaming cAGW???
I would say the figure is closer to 100% higher then what the scam artist,fraud,rent-seeking,grant scheme eco-cultists say.

Yup.

Which just means that the Brandon Sun copied the Manitoba Dept. of Snatch Yer Resources press release in its entirety.

If you really WILL miss the polar bears, you had better get your rifle sighted in a lot better. Them friggin' bears are fairly large, and not that difficult of a target. Or isn't that what you meant by "miss the polar bears"?

They are ruining the narrative.

They’re not supposed to count unknown bears, only those that everybody knows about.

Sheesh.

I'm not really a scientist, but don't they melt when they come that far down south?

18 months ago I happened to be flying along the Hudson Bay coast between the Ontario-Manitoba border and Peawanuck while polar bear sows were leaving their dens with cubs in tow for the Bay.

I lost count of the number bear tracks I saw heading north. A few were without cubs, but the remainder were all with cubs, many you could see tracks of twins. During that time, I flew directly over and 6 different sows, all with cubs. All the sows looked to be in great shape.

Anyone that thinks there is a shortage of polar bears is reading too much.

Doowleb "The Eskimos (I denounce myself) "

Shameful, calling Inuits "raw meat eaters" just because they ate their meat raw to retain the vitamin C so they could survive on 100% meat diet. You can't use the truth. Actually nobody is sure of the origin or meaning of the term Eskimo but white people are clearly racist when they use it. I've only met a few Eskimos in my life and that's how they described themselves, although a few years ago.

I was just going to quip that "Global Warming made them do it", but the above is much, much better.
