We Don't Need No Stinking Giant Fans

Well, at least they're admitting it: Wind energy company requests permission to kill endangered species

Beech Ridge Energy has applied to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for an incidental take permit addressing impacts to endangered bats at the company/s wind energy project in Greenbrier and Nicholas counties, West Virginia. The 25-year permit for the Beech Ridge Energy project would cover take of Virginia big-eared and Indiana bats during operation of 67 existing turbines and construction of an additional 33 turbines.

So long as it's not ducks.

baby ducks.
Explains the loss of flying rodentia in my neck of the woods. f'n hippies.

So, it's OK to kill endangered species for wind turbines (renewable, green, unreliable and intermittent energy), but it's not OK to kill moss for hydro dams (renewable, green, reliable and constant energy)?

Orwell was right; some animals are more equal than others.

They're flexable as long as it serves their hidden agenda.

Bats eat tons of mosquitoes, thus reducing the danger of West Nile virus, so every time you build a giant fan you increase the incidence of West Nile. Think of the children.

So, those opposed should get out and demonstrate against the windmills on environmental grounds,"Save the Bats", just like their counterparts do with any of their pet "anti" projects, oil sands, pipelines, etc.

Saul Alinsky set out some very good rules for radicals, they don't ALL have to be from the Left.

Regulations only apply to some people:

“The Obama Administration Teams with Private Equity Firm to Single Out a Individual Refinery for Help. This is just backwards. The Obama administration has been increasing the regulatory burden on all refineries, but instead of working to rationalize the regulations so that all refineries can compete, the administration worked with a private equity firm to help a single refinery.”

As long as the view from the Kennedy compound is not disrupted, kill away.

In other words, all that prattle about endangered species was just an excuse to cheat decent people out of their land so the powerful could pay a pittance to hand it over to any crank with a perpetual motion machine, whose only real skills were in bewitching gullible politicians who passed up courses in physics for courses in French?

If you didn't know that already, you haven't been paying attention.

Species are born and species die, yes. It happens at the Lord's convenience, not ours. Even communism, in the form of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, couldn't destroy God's non-human creatures (though not for want of effort). On the contrary, the animals rule Pripyat with an iron rod.

When the day of the Lord comes, it will go worse for most people alive today than it did for the people of Sodom. I wonder how much mind the animals will even need to pay the day of the Lord, if they notice it at all. The animal kingdom never rebelled against God, and hence have no reason to fear His wrath. The Lord is indeed just, which is why we are more "endangered" than any animal.

The Lord is also merciful. Even if He becomes so angry with Canada that He sees fit to deliver sinful mankind completely into the hands of the communists, be sure that He will grant the elect one trifling boon. Once they no longer need such rubbish as a rod for beating the capitalists, we won't have to listen to another word about endangered species.

Is anyone in Ontario following this? McGoofy and his minions are in the process of sanctioning the building of thousands - yes - thousands of 450-foot-high wind turbines up through Manitoulin and across the north shore of Lake Superior west of the Soo. If he gets his way, you'd best have a look at the shorelines now, because they'll be defiled forever. The construction of the foundations alone for these...things...is enough to destroy the immediate ecosystem in each case. And what makes it even more revolting is that they make no economic sense whatsoever. And the sites chosen for these bird beaters were also chosen by Canada's Group of Seven for their now-famous landscapes. Say goodbye not only to thousands of bats and birds, say goodbye to it all!

But they are mostly white kids born with the guilt of a millenium.

Wouldn't you get really good breezes on Cape Cod and Martha's Vinyard. Too bad poor people don't live there.

Oz sums it up perfectly.

Could we throw a few hundred thousand Canada geese through the blender?

That's interesting - since when do incidental take permits include unlimited killing of endangered species?

And the taking is not incidental to wind energy schemes: their deaths are as essential as subsidies to the whole fraud to move forward.

Send a copy of the application to the new Tumbleridge B.C. wind farm. Them gigantic egg beaters are goin to mulch a few also. Maybe if they stopped wasting good taxpayers money on this crap they could have cured Jack Layton.
