About Kate
Why this blog?
Until this moment
I have been forced
to listen while media
and politicians alike
have told me
"what Canadians think".
In all that time they
never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio - "You don't speak for me."

Come November Matthews is going to have a stroke.
lets hope so
How would we tell?
Why do liberals care so much about polls? Is this what they tell themselves, to make themselves feel superior? The new poll from Washington Post shows Mitt in the lead with a +9 democrat sample. We all know that is going to happen, including liberals, so why try to fool themselves? As Obama craters, Matthews will go crazier and crazier, it should be fun to watch especially on election night.
I mean, what? Would he start acting weird or something? Slurring his speech?
"Going" to have a stroke? Given his general incoherence, I think that ship may have already sailed. And then promptly ran aground.
Love this Twitter comment:
Wow. Chris Matthews just pulled ahead of Paul Krugman on Intrade re: Most Epic Public Meltdown if Romney Wins.
I would love to see Matthews speak to Allan West like this. He’d have his jacket pulled over his head and upper cut into next week.

Maybe he'll develop an unhinged, quasi-erotic fixation on the President of the United States, and start detecting a sinister pattern of coded racism in seemingly innocuous, everyday conversation.
Yeah, that'll tip everyone off.
Mathews should be an embarrassment to the profession, but fortunately the MSM have no sense of integrity or ethics so they just sit there like muted dummies while Mathews shouts at a Republican.
They undoubtedly think Mathews is a "hero".
IMO the Dems and their media minions are making a serious error with their mudslinging and racism charges. First, they are failing to address issues from a strategic level - their argument for the need for larger government as a safety net, and tactically too - not discussing actual policies to that end.
Secondly, they are appealing only to their base, whose votes they already have. Their extremist language - continually offended and branding any difference of opinion as evil - will turn off moderate undecided voters.
Biden's ridiculous they're gonna put y'all in chains speech is an example of this ill-advised approach. Last election the Dems got something like 90% of the black vote, and Biden's silly quip appeals to only the most hard-core identity voters. Preaching to the choir will not increase their base; nor will trying to scare voters.
This approach will cost them the election, IMO, assuming Romney takes advantage of it and the media wakes up to the fact that the American voter is not some hard core leftie, seeing racism everywhere and believing big government will actually make them better off.
It's seems more and more likely the Dems are afraid to sell an overtly big-government platform. This approach failed in the 06 Cdn election, with a more left-leaning electorate and allowed PMSH to stake the middle political ground the Martin Libs vacated. Having said that, I hope they keep it up!
He scares me!
Some homeless guy will be missing his face if O loses!
Matthews isn't getting that tingly feeling anymore, and that has him a tad irate.
Priebus missed a great chance to calmly say "Don't think think that Biden's comment about putting 'y'all back in chains' is really playing the race card?"
Sadly, lots of C/Rs aren't great on their feet, Newt and Christie excepted
Matthews lies. Of course. Romney didn't say "I don't have a problem with my birth certificate". He said, "No one's ever asked to see my birth certificate. They know that this is the place that we were born and raised." It's a bit of a fib, because it's a certainty that someone at some time has asked to see his birth certificate. The difference is that second sentence: they do indeed know where he was born and raised. His past has not been sealed off from public scrutiny.
Prissy Tingletoes knows damn fine that so much of The One's past has been deliberately obscured and hidden, it physically hurts him to have a Republican make a funny jab about it.
I look forward to seeing his tears in November.
Come November a rat will run up Chrissy's leg.
Oh wait! I mean another rat!
Just sneak up behind him, grab the top of his underwear and yank straight up.
Come November Matthews is going to have a stroke.

I pray he doesn't Gord. I want him live and healthy so he can see his Messiah go down in flames.
Now, if Obama loses I look for him to do something really stupid and vindictive.
,
Mika thanks Reince Priebus at the end as well as Tom Brokaw but then adds "and you to Chris .... I think?" When Mika sais something like that you have to know it was bad....cut to commercial break.

One of these days the Republican party is going to FINALLY grow a brain and stop sending their guys into these five-on-one panel slap fights. One on one or we don't show should be the rule.
As for Chrissy, he looks like one or more of his vital organs is on strike. Pasty yellowish face, pouchy skin, jowls, wasted neck muscles, general air of beshrivelment and belligerent incoherence... I'm betting impaired liver function. That guy looks like a he's living on equal measures of booze and hate these days, with maybe a side dish of recreational whatever.
He's going to come apart like a fried chicken in November. I won't be surprised if he unravels on-air and winds up at the Betty Ford.
Black Mamba said: "I mean, what? Would he start acting weird or something? Slurring his speech?"
Usually the dragging leg, limp arm and facial paralysis all on one side of the body are what one looks for in a stroke. However there are little TIAs that just frig things up all over the brain in small amounts over time that could end up looking a lot like Mathews.
Notwithstanding the possibility of diffuse brain damage, I'm putting my money on a rickety liver. He acts just like every skeevy, mouthy old drunk I've ever bounced off the front step of an establishment.
Republicans are IDIOTS for sharing airtime with this bum.
The correct response to Mathews would have been ... "Nobody asked for your opinion Mathews."
Which is quite factual. Mathews and many of the media morons have come to behave as if the programs they host are a platform for their own pleasure.
Mathews ... self pleasuring in full view of the world ...
I realize I've been saying this for years, but I really am serious:
Chris Matthews has some kind of brain tumor.
One day his bosses will feel guilty for continuing to insist that he go on the air instead of making his continued employment contingent on him seeing a specialist.
I swear this is me being charitable. There is something horribly wrong with him.
Yowzers...The leftards heads are going to literally explode...any bets on whether Choo-Choo Joe or Tingles splodes first?
Chris Matthews is one of the reasons MSNBC continues to crawl along in last place in the ratings. Their audience consists of people that only understand small words and now that Anderson cooper has come out of the closet, even the gay crowd will move over to CNN. That was MSNBC's second biggest love fest and could explain why the tingle has left Matthews leg. The shallow end of the gene pool, the brainwashed greenies and the OWS kiddies are all that will be left for a viewing audience if Obama gets turfed out. If Obama could string even one sentence together without a teleprompter he might even have had a spot on that poor excuse for a news channel for his next vocation. Following that other intellectual giant, Sharpton perhaps. Ooohhh....so many tingles in that business.
Would like to say to The Phantom, whom I consider one of the sharpest here.
The republicans should go to these things, however they should not be timid to answer and present ideas that are superior to those of the others.
As Erik Larsen at August 27, 2012 2:33 PM mentioned as an example, Gingrich and Christie.
All of the republicans need to be brash and forward, not being all worried up as to what, whoever is going to say.
You have to have a better argument. It does not look good and shows lack of courage to avoid mud puddles.
You see, Reince Priebus, instead saying something to the effect that Mathews is talking nonsense and is full of shit, directly, just grinned.
Not going to work. Not a good argument. Nothing.
You don’t need to be intellectual giant with these people, their arguments are mostly pretty base and stupid, all you have to do is reveal it in front of an audience. If it makes them loose face, so much the better. As you may have noted from what Mathews said, he was full of shit as it were and a few words from Reince Priebus would have him in a fit of madness. You really don’t have to do too much, just nudge along.
I should add that in the, what seems as a distant past, Mathews was good when Clinton was president. Mathews said that he liked Clinton, however he was severely critical of him for his sexcapades and number of other things.
Expect to see Chris Matthews skipping down Pennsylvania avenue Naked as he was born, belting out s"Singing In The Rain" with a 5th of whiskey in his hand, if obama loses.
I once figured that Keith Olbermann's career would terminate in a riveting on-air meltdown. I was picturing hostage scenarios and 24/7 live broadcasting at gunpoint until the SWAT teams broke in.
In the event Olby went out not with a bang but with a little behind-the-scenes snit. So I guess Matthews is the one to keep an eye on now.
I feel only slightly guilty.
"Expect to see Chris Matthews skipping down Pennsylvania avenue Naked as he was born, belting out "Singing In The Rain" with a 5th of whiskey in his hand, if obama loses."
A drunken, naked and public celebration of obama losing?
I don't see that as necessarily a BAD thing......
I was born in Raymond. (and have the original birth certificate to prove it)
Does that make me a raymist?
And this is how you talk to Mathews:
Newt Gingrich asks Chris Matthews, ‘What kind of racist thinking do you have?’
http://dailycaller.com/2012/08/27/newt-gingrich-asks-chris-matthews-what-kind-of-racist-thinking-do-you-have/
“Gingrich turned the tables on Matthews, asking: “Why do you assume ‘food stamp’ refers to black? What kind of racist thinking do you have? Why are you being a racist, because you assume he’s referring to black?”
And much more.
Exactly right.
TP:
"One of these days the Republican party is going to FINALLY grow a brain and stop sending their guys into these five-on-one panel slap fights."
Five to one sounds quite fair to me.
Gord Tulk - do you honestly think that the marvelous O would let "Tingles" close enough to get a stroke? The No Such Agency would be on the lookout for perverts like Matthews to prevent them from even touching, let alone stroking, The One.
For the longest time I just assumed Mathews was just exploiting a loud mouth, bullying style as a debating technique....until the tingles thing....then it became obvious he was just bad-$hit crazy.....
Yeah I concur with Phantom his dereangement has drove him to drink....further muddling his image.
The notion he may have a valid drivers licence is disturbing. How many more are out there?
Lev said: "The republicans should go to these things, however they should not be timid to answer and present ideas that are superior to those of the others."
Lev, thanks for the vote of confidence. :)
Republicans getting roasted in five-on-one "panel discussions" is a mainstay of the Lefty press. As in this case, the participants take turns playing Good Cop, Bad Cop with the lone Conservative visitor. Even if they all behave properly, the Conservative gets to talk once while the socialists talk the rest of the time.
You will have noticed by now that the Conservative government doesn't let their officals, MPs and strategists go on news panel shows very much. In fact, the CPC doesn't talk to reporters at all. That's because the CPC found they were getting g@ng-b@nged by these clowns every time, and it was costing them seats at election time.
The solution to a hostile media is to treat them as hostile. Never do things their way, always do your interviews live with one interviewer, if possible in a very formal setting where you control the camera. Otherwise they'll hack you like they did with this poor sap.
Doesn't matter how good your platform is if you're cxonfronted with some demented idiot shouting lies in your face.
Kathy Shaidle said "Chris Matthews has some kind of brain tumor."
Maybe, but my money is on alcohol induced dementia. That's guy's last living neuron is bathed in scotch at breakfast lunch and dinner.
