The CBC has mechanisms to protect politicians when it's a legitimate hooker. From the comments;
The state broadcaster has another "We all loved Jack" story up on their website. By my count, that is four articles and a podcast over the last four days, with still about 24 hours left to the official kick-off of Jackapalooza.

Much ado about nothing!!!
Jack was a useless politian. His most notable accomplishment was dying gracefully.
Defund the CBC!!
Calls for a National Holiday are almost inevitable.
She still has dirt under her fingers from planting flowers on his grave last week????? WTHeck lady take a bath, wash or something for crying out loud, your making a spectacle of your self and your family under false pretenses.
HE USED HOOKERS, if pmsh got jacked at a cat house he would have been crucified not canonized by the media.
It should be an occasion for celebration, like in the Wizard of Oz.
"The state broadcaster has another 'We all loved Jack' story up on their website."
wallyj, they obviously polled the wrong people. They didn't ask me, for instance.
Though it brought me no joy that Jack Layton died and I thought, "that's too bad," my second thought was, "I'm glad this w*nker won't be continuing to crank out his socialist lies and rhetoric to the ignorant, misguided masses."
I guess that job now falls to Thomas Mulcair, who isn't as photogenic.
What is next, a marble mausoleum in Nathan Philips Square?
Like all left-wing state-run media, the CBC is conducting a campaign of deification, in this case for No-pants Jack. Except Jack never made it to "dear leader" status. And he isn't in charge of the country. So why is the CBC spending my money on this campaign?
The CBC needs to be de-funded. Now.
The story also goes on to mention his son is getting married on Toronto Island.
The island is almost exclusively populated with CBC employees, I'd love to hear who's hosting this inbred bunch of elite commie wankers.
Yes Ken, glass topped with his body preserved for display. It will be called Layton's Tomb and we will be admonished to visit it at least once in our lifetime.
Here's some pictures of Jack's Tomb.

And the stomach turns...
Why does the CBC advertise every commercial break on Fox News? If I am watching Fox, it is because I have given up on Canadian news sources. If I come back, I might watch Sun News but I will never watch the CBC under any circumstances. Glad to see my tax dollars at work advertising to unreachable viewers and producing NDP propaganda so they don't have to.
Mark- It may be that, due to the Canadian content rules, the service providers are forced to display Canadian content instead of US advertising. Think of the NFL games and the videotron in say, Denver displays as ad for Canadian Tire when you view it in Canada.
Bingo Mark! I often wonder how Mr. Harper would have been treated if he were in Jack's place medically following a win (Jack's 100+ seats was most assuredly a 'win'). Harper and the Conservatives would have been crucified by the CBC and the rest of the media for being dishonest just for starters and they would have demanded a new national election.
The CBC serves no purpose other than a left-wing NDP campaign team.
The CBC is in the business of selling wolves to sheep. Edward Bernays would be proud of the success the CBC has had employing media to manipulate the public.
We see CBC's propaganda war against the public continue with the canonization of Jack Layton - a petty Toronto area municipal politician who made it to the federal level by taking advantage of a leaderless party in decline. His personal history is a checkered morass of situational morality and does not fit the pristine politically sanitized PR image manufactured to market him.
I won’t waste my time watching CBC raise the level of manufactured mythos concerning this newly anointed martyr/deity of the champagne socialist cabal. I already know how it will look, because I've done a good deal of reading on the media role in soviet era Russia. Same crap sent through a time warp and tarted up for obsessing progressive urban dullards.
I don't think I've ever read a more sycophantic sentence than Meagan Fitzpatrick's opening line, save in Pravda.
"dirt in her fingernails after planting flowers around Jack Layton's gravestone last week" - I beg your pardon but are you saying that Ms Chow does not know about the existence of gardening gloves and doesn't clean under her fingernails?
I can't believe that my tax dollars are being spent on blatant hagiography of Jack Layton.
Defund the CBC now.
I credit his family for being more faithful to him than he was to them, but I'm hard pressed to view Ms. Chow's sympathy as anything other politically convenient. After all, this is a lady who enjoys her conveniences, publicly subsidized housing being one that springs to mind.
My Spidey Sense says that Chow and Layton were beards for one another, covering up just what, I can't say.
Like you say, Sean, others seem to have been far more faithful to Jack than the other way around. He was an entitled, privileged "socialist." His socialism didn't cost him anything, as while he gave others'/our money away -- such a hail-fellow-well-met -- his bank account was full and his circumstances, well-cushioned.
Jack's Limousine Socialism is absolutely the worst kind. If you want to live and work for and with the masses, you get my admiration if not my support. Live far from the madding crowd and pretend that you care amounts to pretense, artifice, and hypocrisy.
That was Jack, and the CBC are fools for making a demigod of him. I want my money back.
Conservatives should have more appreciation for Jack. His popularity has caused enough vote splitting to allow the CPC to do a clean sweep of the 905 region in Ontario, resulting in a majority. As a bonus the NDP also wiped out the Bloc. No wonder Harper arranged for a state funeral!
You may be right about Canadian content advertising but if I ever meet that singer from Great Big Sea in real life...
No mention by the CBC that Chow and Layton ramped up the largest expenditures of any MPs in 2010, billing taxpayer for over $1.16 m in living, travel expenses. This despite living within 250 miles and sharing the same apartment. When confronted by the TorStar no less, Chow snapped that it was "legal" Over $3100 per day would buy a lot of $ 16 orange juices
As they say, a scialist can always be bought, but they don't come cheap.
I suspect Keith Richards kid Justin will do so more vote splitting in quebec for the next election too. CBCpravda should be all over that.
as for Layton , CBC deifies a full time liar , who lied to the public about his health to the last day , and even published a false letter to the Canadian public. spends his time in subsidized housing, never enacted a single peice of legislation , got caught in rub and tugs and as bred a new generation of laytons on the public purse.
the CBC serves a purpose, to distract the left into voting for;
greens
liberals
ndp
etc.
Harper's (evil) plan is to sustain this deception as long as possible, cause there ain't anybody else on the right (side) to vote for. just think it "only" costs us $1B/yr to keep the 'red' horde(s) out.
THANKS for posting this!
My comment on CBC.Ca "Jack Layton" feature never got published. (A: I`m Conservative. B: I`m from the west.)
So sent in this one. "Hey--when is the NDP Party of Canada going to approve my comment??"
I searched hither and tither--but it never showed up!
Q: "Where to find Jack Layton memorials in your area this week"? (G-M)
A: 787 Dundas St W.
Da proof:
"The officers said police filled out a suspect investigation card that recorded his name, address, date of birth -- July 18, 1950 -- height and weight."

Get over it CBC.
Jack is still dead.
And nobody cares that his wife has dirty fingernails.
At least Jack promised everything to every one and checked out in time to avoid being decimated in the next election for breaking every election promise he made. Not only is Mulcair not promising a chicken for every pot but vows to eliminate pots , as fossil fuel is required to make them. Jack had a certain charm if you were a granola crunching ,foam at the mouth, unemployed tree hugger or under 25 , Under 35 if still living in the parents basement. Mulcair has all the charm of a polished turd. Jack was pure entertainment and I hope they put out a collectors edition of this spectacular CBC movie. I hear it is a 3 hanky film (one hanky if they drop the massage part) and will have worldwide distribution just like Little Mosque on the Prairie with up to a hundred people tuning in. 90 in Toronto and 5 each in BC and Quebec. Good turnout for CBC. A true orange carpet event and a tribute to our tax dollars at work. Or play if they show the massage part. I wait with bated breath. Eat your heart out Mulcair.
The National has been advertising a segment that features a sculpture Olivia made to honor Jack...wait for it...with her own hands...
Does a man of the people live in low-income housing when he doesn't have to?
In your wildest dreams can you imagine the CBC even noticing the first anniversary of Preston Manning's death?
Prime Minister Harper,
Please get rid of the CBC. Now.
peterj, no, they won't get decimated in the next election. They're pandering just as hard as they can for the separatist vote in Quebec. And odds are they will get it just as they did in 2011.
I am so tired of hearing of Jack Layton. He was relatively unimportant even as a municipal politician. His sole achievement on Toronto City Council, if memory serves me, was to get the Gardiner Extension torn down.
And of course he never served as PM or in Cabinet in any way. So I'm still mystified as to the justification for a state funeral for this bawdy-house habituee.
The CBC dwelling on this for an entire week is just about the most disgusting media propaganda wank-fest I've ever seen. It's way beyond maudlin.
@ cgh
I agree. For a man that never accomplished anything except selling bullship, he did rather well. I do think the NDP will lose a lot of seats in Quebec and some in Ontario as none of Jacks promises will bear fruit and Harper is not the devil they thought he was. Mulcair is far more divisive and lacks personality.
