A House panel is calling on the U.S. Department of Labor to turn over all records involving a half-million dollar contract funded through President Obama’s $831 billion stimulus program that paid for more than 100 commercials on MSNBC touting a “green jobs” initiative.

About Kate
Why this blog?
Until this moment
I have been forced
to listen while media
and politicians alike
have told me
"what Canadians think".
In all that time they
never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio - "You don't speak for me."

I had a green job once. I cut the grass in front of the court house!
That payoff would go a long way to explaining Ed Schultz's behaviour last night.
If you have few to no morals and don't care about your reputation or character then you will say ANYTHING if it helps to keep the moola rollin' in! :-(
Question is how fast they can get the info. There is something here, just may not get it before November.
MSNBC will be extra bitter after November, while that will be amusing, what will really be interesting is how the Narcissist In Chief is going to handle it? He doesn't understand or respect the law, so what will he try to get away with? Who will he pardon? Will he reveal his true character finally?
Robert, yes, the insistence that any, not only criticism, but any rejection of Obama, is racist, is a dominant theme at MSNBC.
They ignore that a key theme of Obama's ideology is the denigration of US exceptionalism, his insistence that the US and Americans are not exceptional; that all peoples consider their own nation exceptional and that to say such about the US is merely yet another empty and strictly personal and biased opinion.
Obama ignores the technological, the scientific, the medical advances of the US which prove its exceptionalism, based on its ideology of promoting individual freedom.
Romney's speech promoted pride in America, something that Obama and his wife both lack, and encouraging people not to feel that 'the US era is over'. His speech was about genuine hope, in themselves, not in a Dear Leader.
My concern is that the corruption that is within Obama, a corruption based on his inability to connect to reality, his deep need for power and control, his inability to differentiate between 'fact and fiction', or truth and falsehood, means that he will do and say anything to retain power. Anything. He has no principles, no ethics, no standards.
If Obama loses, and loses badly in November, I hope that future historians strongly consider the role that the Media Party played in his loss.
It has long been clear through polls that 95%+ of the American MSM support Obama. In a perfect world each of the "straight news" people would make it their utmost priority to not let their personal biases affect their professional work. Since we don't live in a perfect world, the public should at least expect these "journalists" to work hard at keeping their own biases downplayed.
But what is clearly going on here are an endless stream of members of the Media Party jumping the shark ... not just a little, but a lot. Of course the Leftist fanatics love it but one would suspect, or at least hope, that the majority of Americans would see through the nonsense and realize how biased their Media has become. This should then encourage them to look at all future coverage with a very skeptical lens.
Just as a matter of interest, how is this any different than the thousands os Economic Action ads I saw here?
Hmm. Less than $5K per commercial is junk bond status in the advertising industry. Says a lot about MSNBC.
At least they are re-cycling old scandals, but he didn't build that, somebody else did it first!
Have to keep the propaganda arm of the Democrat Party well funded.
Classic Obama:
http://www.ottawacitizen.com/opinion/editorial-cartoons/7163529.bin?size=620x400
Speaking from personal experience, $5k per spot sounds about right. However, there's another half million in advertising production costs. Where are those buried?
Wow, deja vu.
So the Obeyme admin is paying MSNBC for advertising of little to no value, with the payoff being that MSNBC (basically playing the part of an ad agency) carries water for them during the campaign.
Esentially the executive is directing an arm of the government to direct ad dollars to a media outlet for campaign support during the election. Basically scamming the tax payer, by directing tax dollars to a democratic controlled news outlet.
Also heard a rumour that more than a few Chretien liberals moved to the DC area after Obeyme got elected.
Surely a coincidence
The US and Americans are not exceptional.
They are just normal human being.
I enjoy watching the USA going down the toilet.
For the past 50-60 years, they have been uppity and arrogant and they need a good beating.
Don't cheer too hard there dipper if the US goes down Canada will go with it which means no more goodies from the ROC for you.
See the Quebec separatist is just a troll and not worthy of any kind of engagement. Let's just ignore him from now on.
rgraham4444
What's exceptional about the US is that they're the first nation in history that individual rights are inherent gifts from God, rather than goodies dispensed by the ruling elite.
That recognition that people can act on their own free will and, in a great majority of cases, will make creative choices that will make their own lives and the lives around them better.
Where rights are conferred to individuals by a ruling elite as they have been throughout most of history, the only equality that ensues is misery.
The French Revolution, for example. The Soviet experiment. The Third Reich.
All they offered was death to those who disagreed with the ruling elites, those elites who considered themselves more enlightened than those who had different ideas than they did.
The major exception in the entire history of the world is the United States. As Clint Eastwood pointed out on Thursday night, it's the people in the United States that have to power and when the human being they elect to be their leader does not do the job, then it's time to let him go.
Just like if there's a parasite province in the Confederation of Canada, it's time to let them go.
Hmm. A few American inventions: the car, the plane, telegraph, elevator, oil wells, typewriter, camera, television, digital computer, nuclear reactor, electricity, polio vaccine, microsoft, artificial heart.
More Nobel prizes and other awards in science than any nation. More research in science and medicine than any other nation.
Development of the factory system, mass production of goods at cheaper costs.
Saving Europe in WWII.
Assistance all over the world economically.
Now, that's evidence of American exceptionalism.
set you free. Perfect. You are exactly right. It was the first nation in the world that acknowledged that human rights, the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness come from Nature and/or God. NOT from man. I repeat: NOT from man.
And that these rights are bestowed to all equally.
This exceptionalist idea, acknowledged the rights of the individual. Not rights of a class (the upper class); not rights of an ethnic group; not rights of any group but these rights belong to each and every individual.
And acknowledged that the government of such a nation is beneath the people. As Eastwood reminded us, government is the servant of the people. Not its master...as Obama believes.
Thanks for the reminder of the ideology of this exceptional nation of America.
There is always the notion of the Golden Age.
There was an American Golden age for the past century. Before that it was the British, before the french, previously a Dutch golden age too. Before it was the Middle Age with darkness everywhere in Europe. But China was in Golden Age, so was the Arabic world.
Let's just not be nostalgic about the past, the American golden age is over and let's move on.
quebecois, as set you free suggests, if there's a parasitic province in Canada, it's time to move on.
Either Quebec stops being a parasite on the Canadian taxpayer and starts to pay its own way, or it should leave.
The french never had a golden age. They had an age of kings and an age of emperors. Never in the history of the world has one natiion had it's As$ kicked by so many countries!
Russia, Germany, England , the list goes on.
"- Gallic Wars
- Lost. In a war whose ending foreshadows the next 2000 years of French history, France is conquered by of all things, an Italian. [Or at ths time in history, a Roman -ed.]
- Hundred Years War

(very amusing read)
Aren't queerbecers fwench? They haven't had a golden age either. Right now they are in the leech age, to be followed by the sent packing age if real Canadians get to vote.
Back to the actual TOPIC!
I doubt that the ad money or the reason for spending it amounts to much.
Remember! Do NOT charge anyone with ANY crimes until after January 23, 2013. There's no point in doing it before then when the SCOAMF can pardon anyone involved.
Someone can be pardoned without being charged - I think.
The Queerbecer feeds his low self esteem by posting inflammatory crap here, and hoping for a reaction. And he gets it from others who are either suffering from his problem,or are ego-manics,and have to refute/disapprove his logic/reasoning/whatever. Let's ignore both. Neither one serves any true, real purpose to solving problems.
