About Kate
Why this blog?
Until this moment
I have been forced
to listen while media
and politicians alike
have told me
"what Canadians think".
In all that time they
never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio - "You don't speak for me."

I love this quote in reference to The One:
" Holman Jenkins of the Wall Street Journal about Barack Obama: "his greatest talent “has been his knack for granting his admirers permission to think highly of themselves for thinking highly of him.”
I believe the moon may no longer rise if the Americans don't vote for Obama in November.
What a knob.
This calls for a caption contest. My entry:
"ET phone home."
Stock photo, no less, from Tumblr
They used it 4 months ago.
"You know who'd make a great astronaut? Me!"
Meh, this particular post speaks to our partisanship rather than any particular flaw of Obama. If the exact same pic had GWB or Reagan in it, we'd all love it.
Is that a star and a crescent moon in the photo?
Apparently Neil Armstrong was a muslum. As the star and crescent moon are an internationally recognized symbol of islamb!
A great move from the commander-in-Shiek!
Meh, GWB or Reagan would have the good taste and discretion to pay tribute to the first man ever in history to walk on the moon without mentioning themselves. The dog-eating little weirdo in question, it is now a matter of record, would not.
MEH,
If you can find a situation where GWB, GHWB, WJC or RWR even JC did something similar then we can have the discussion. But right now, the only one who has, and I believe would is BHO.
And if you point to the Mission Accomplished photo...thats fine, meditate on the derision and bile that mistake inspired and when the reaction across all media reaches the same level then we can also have a discussion.
This is a pattern I am sure even you realize that.
Caption to the photo...."What's the big deal Armstrong didnt do that on his own"
Meh-
The point is that the Obama team thought this was great way to honor Neil Armstrong's life and achievements. I agree it's not a bad picture and probably wouldn't have even made a post on SDA if it was just that - a picture. But Obama (or his staff) couldn't just post something like, "The President honors the part Neil Armstrong played in advancing man's knowledge and exploration of space. He was a true pioneer and will be missed." No - Obama had to insert himself into the narrative and attempt to make a great man’s death all about Obama. This IS Obama’s flaw. He is incapable of acknowledging another’s achievement unless he can somehow bring it all back to his favorite subject – himself.
Obama's like a wannabe Forrest Gump.
"Astronaut Neil Young, I mean Armstrong, may have landed on the moon when I was just a boy. But I, President Obama, have stood looking at the moon, and wondered what would Neil Young, er, Armstrong, thought about me looking at the moon while I was standing here on Earth as a boy."
How's your heavy lift space rocket coming along Obama? Now that you've turned NASA into a Muslim outreach program.
"He didn't walk there."
"You know, I was thinking of replacing Lincoln or Washington on Mount Rushmore, but now as I look at it I think the moon is really more appropriate to my unprecedentedness. It's what Neil Young would have wanted."
Didn't he nuke the moon once?
If this is supposed to be a tribute to Neil Armstrong, shouldn't Narcissist-in-Chief be looking at the moon?
"One giant ego for a truly petty man, one small step backward for mankind."
@Kathryn
Yes he should be but if you look closely it's actually Reggie Love stepping out of that motorcade in the background that's got Obama stary eyed.
@Meh
Nah, don't think so....they were not alien to the American culture but rather embraced it....well RR anyways.

"If I had a son, he'd look just like Neil Armstrong"
Why does he always have his hands in his pocket ? If would have had time in the Military they would have broke him of that habit.
Neil Armstrong passed away on Saturday August 25th. The moon entered into First Quarter on August 24th at 14:54 hrs. That picture is not of a First Quarter moon; therefore it was not taken this weekend.

Stare at it for a minute. He's actually facing the camera. He can't be bothered with the minutia of space.
Instead of Steve Carell cast as Michael Scott in The Office, it really would be hilarious/annoying, but fitting, if it had been Obumhole! It's aways about Him!
Must. Politicize. Everything.
Seriously, this guys couldn't take a dump without you guys desperately arguing that he did it wrong.
Relax or you'll give yourselves heart attacks and have to rely on universal healthcare.

And if a similar circumstance presented itself for a Canadian politician, past or present, it would be Jack Layton in the starring role. Twins separated at birth, I think.
"Is that a star and a crescent moon in the photo?"
How do you type while simultaneously diddling your lips and searching for commie muslims under your bed? Really, it's a miracle.
Yes John, Obama politicizes everything. We're sick of it, too.
gosh , is he using those ears as antennae?
"Must. Politicize. Everything."
And absolutely nobody in the little village was surprised that a Leftist deliberately misstated the case.
The End
Oh, John, bless your heart...
Obambas trinute to Neil Armstrong:
"It's time to close down NASA with the Shuttle Program and send all the extra money to the Indian & Chinese space programs."
It's interesting, but Obama has always denied American exceptionalism. Therefore, he's really ignoring Armstrong's and the USA's exceptional achievement of 'one giant leap for mankind'..which leap was carried out by the USA.
Instead, as a pathological narcissist, he's connecting Himself and you, the viewer, to HIS exceptionalism. This isn't individual accomplishment which Obama denigrates to the ordinary (we are all smart, we all work hard). No way.
Obama's exceptionalism is more basic, more essential. He's connecting himself to something metaphysical, larger-than-any one small step for a single man. He, Obama, is connected to the Force of the Universe. He, Obama The Great, represents a basic essential life force that far outstrips any individual's mundane activities.
We all know that Obama has inserted Himself into the online biographies of past presidents, implying that His Will and Divine Essence permeated their more human ordinary achievements, even those of one hundred years ago. He has now done the same with historic events, for the same White House historical outlines are referencing Obama The Great as connected, via Will and Natural Essence, to these previous beneficial events.
Obama. The Will and Force of the Universe. Hail.
We shouldn't be so hard on Obama. After all he's as smart as Lincoln.
He's clearly turning his back on the stars in the photo.
Just like he did his all liberal cult worshippers that thought they’d get a free ride because he was black.
How’s that evil Bush Patriot Act going for ya these days? Oh, resigned and enhanced you say plus the addition of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).
“I will never use an Executive Order when I’m president, they’re unconstitutional” - BHO
Bwahahahahaha
"How 'bout that, the moon and stars don't shine out my ...".
I checked this image out in photoshop, where I adjusted the levels. I could see the shirt collar sticking up over his suit jacket. Obama is looking away from the camera but he is looking towards the horizon and not upwards toward the moon.
From the Obama/Biden campaign Web-site:
"The other guys have corporate lobbyists and special interests on their side; we've got you."
So DONATE, you cheapskate.
"Why would I need to look at the moon? It was me who hung it".
BO
The Whitehouse actually did have an official statement on the passing of Neil Armstrong. It was brief and dignified.
This POS was put together later by the obama team later on.
So ... once againg the Obama administration attempts to weave the fairy tale of the ONE into the fabric of American History.
These people are pathetic and despicable.
One small form for man, one giant snafu for mankind.

If that were true he must have the weirdest elbows know to man. He is facing the camera.
On second look you are right. I had the angle wrong.
On second look you are right. I had the angle wrong.
@2:19 is right about the star and crescent moon tho, the only heavenly bodies that are clearly visible.
just sayin'
Was the picture taken before or after praying at the moon?
The public needs to know.
When small men begin to cast giant shadows....it means that the sun is about to set.
