We will see if the line regarding his MR's generosity and private charity not being spoken of by MR will be picked up. He HAS done significant works but clearly having some principles, i.e "Don;t pray out loud", hurst him when facing those who lack a shame gene.

As for the effectiveness of the speech we will see. I am sure it fired up GOP women. Will it make the Julia's of the world think twice....doubt it. But in terms of softening MR's image, sure. Always helps to have a validator, if his wife couldnt do it he would be in trouble.

End of the day, this was about making the Dem attacks and their media minions look a little foolish when they opine that he is some robotic extreme conservative. Unfortuantley for Obama when his wife ventures into policy she confirms the fears that he is left wing. Thats why she talks gardening, weight loss and exercise in public.

I wouldn't compare Mitt Romney demeanour to Stephen Harper, because reducing everything there is in a political play to one person could be significant only on much smaller scale (tribe, municipality, etc.) . CPC success wouldn't be possible without Reform Party break trough. In many other instances conservatives suffer from hiding in mediocrity of moderation or even mimicking the left. The choice of Romney is a primary example. Oh, I know - if only everyone would believe if the win, but then the assessment of reality is lost.

NO! the Teleprompter/s are the small transparent (transparent from camera Side)Flat screens (~18"X 24") on simple stands in front of the dais/podium. They look directly into the teleprompter, TEXT on thier side of the prompter, the effect is that they appear to be looking into the Camera lens

In my day 80/90s the Teleprompter was a big box that mounted on front & part of the Camera lens. It was a Monitor/mirror assembly.

BTW She is a class act!

Xiat, political parties always find it easier to do nothing than to do something. What moves them along is fear that they will lose the next vote. Legitimate ones anyway, Liberals seem to be moved by fear that the next brown bag full of money will be late.

Calling up your MP (and any other CPC factotum you can get a hold of in person) and letting them know what you want... that's effective.

The Conservative vision for Canada this century is the empowered individual. The individual acting harmoniously with everyone else in society. Getting tasks done, getting ahead, prospering as individuals, as families, and the nation prospering as a whole.

Anything that's getting in the way of that, like the CBC clearly does, we should all be screaming like hell about it. "Get this crap out of my way!" is what they need to be hearing pretty much every day.

Bathe them in the fire of your discontent, and they'll move to get away from it. Otherwise they'll sit there like clods in the furrow.

upon re-reading, I should note that the Conservative vision is not necessarily synonymous with the -CPC- vision, hence the bathing them in discontent part when required.

She is no Hillary, and no Michelle, in the sense that she has humility.

I don't think I have seen that quality from anyone; high or low, in the Obama administration.

She seems a genuinely happy, and warm person, which both Michelle and Hillary definitely keep well hidden, to whatever degree they possess those qualities.
