About Kate
Why this blog?
Until this moment
I have been forced
to listen while media
and politicians alike
have told me
"what Canadians think".
In all that time they
never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio - "You don't speak for me."

He seems to offer a plausable theory on the Obama phenomena, but if you study BO's background and family ties you understand he is a product of the American intelligence community, their funding mechanisms and American oligarchy. Bo's family and handlers have a lot of pull in the radical Straussian end of the Dem machine - the epicenter of that radical/connected Dem faction is Chicago and to a lesser degree Detroit and Pittsburg - rust belt Regime.
BO could never have risen through political ranks, effectively silence the medea so completely of his past and steal a presidency nomination from the Klintons if he were not deeply connected with the "fixer" element of the Dem machine.
Whether American-Lite or socialists or communists or leftists or intellectuals or cults or climate alarmists - they all have one thing in common:
It is not the future they are worried about as that is fixed (in their minds), it is the past they are worried about.
It must be a boitch trying to rewrite history and cover up all their screw ups, especially today when all the evidence is sitting on blogs, friendly or not, all over the wild world.
The rot that stems from and festers in the halls of academia is well understood in these parts.
Public education dumb by design.
This is exactly what Hayek was warning us about in his book "The Road to Serfdom".
"BO could never have risen through political ranks, effectively silence the medea so completely of his past and steal a presidency nomination from the Klintons if he were not deeply connected with the "fixer" element of the Dem machine. "
People need to understand he is a contrivance of the DNC. "Barack Obama" is "Truman Burbank". A facade, a puppet. Occam is correct -there is nothing to Obama that ever would have allowed him to become President on his own. From his ancestry to his colour, half and half, to his obvious incapacity to define and speak for himself (The TOTUS Chronicles), he is entirely an artifice of the DNC. He gets trotted out on talk shows, says nothing, carries no presidential air or solemnity consistent with people burdened with the real angst of governance, speaks only in platitudes, sound bites and vacuous rhetoric, while the Debbies run interference and craft policy for the real president of the United States, TOTUS. One word: shill.
DG: "Yeah. I think the sad thing is that it is inconceivable. You know, with respect to the FDR quote, when he says we’re looking at the world under Nazi domination and Asia under the domination of the brutal Japanese Empire, we’re seeing paganism versus our own Christian, Judeo-Christian values, that would still be true today as far as this nation. This nation is still a Judeo-Christian nation. That’s what we are. That’s what we were designed to be. This is a biblical republic.
But I don’t know of any president — no president would have the necessary guts to say that today, although it remains true. I don’t think it is true of Europe anymore. I mean, Europe used to be part of this Judeo-Christian world and no longer is."
And the Judeo-Christian ethic is what aggra-noys the Obama-Nation(tm). It is one of the reasons that they derisively label the bible belt of the US as 'flyover country'.

I like the distinction he makes regarding "intellectuals" as being members of the "intelligentsia", rather than the more commonly accepted idea of intellectuals as scholars. This parallels my experience of modern university as a place where you learn to regurgitate accepted catechism, rather than learn to reason and experiment to expand the Truth. Capitalized here because the very idea that there is Objective Truth drives your modern intellectual completely nuts.
One of my favorites is arguing the existence of an objective reality with some "its all relative" PoMo dipstick. My favorite part is when I step on their toe and say "See?"
I like it when they go nuts. Fun to watch. ~:D
The America-lite phenomenon was well entrenched long before Obama showed up. In fact he is a product of it, and represents the left's greatest hope.
But, its power was that it changed America, and elsewhere, gradually, and chipped away from the fringes at the American political culture. Compassion became obligation, wealth became oppression, and the fallacy of a progressive US became the norm, rather than the extreme.
Like Obama's reputation, it's largely a fiction. Americans haven't suddenly shifted hard left. The left finally has a president who will carry their water, who will help them falsify the notion that hard work and thrift are important, that government is the only answer to the sweeping oppression of the US business class. VP Biden showed the true colours of this movement with his hysterical rant that the bankers, of all people, were going to put blacks back in chains, as if they were on some plantation instead of a bank branch.
To win this election, the Obamacrats must paint success as greedy and selfish, and only they and big government can stop that. Facts won't matter - the fallacy of tax cuts for the rich is an old canard - so what. They will pound away at this notion. The GOP must do two things; they must ignite patriotism, by replacing hope and change, or anti-patriotism, with confidence and yes, faith; then, they must force a philosophical showdown with the Dems, that Americans must choose the imperfect prosperity of self-reliance over the certain loss of freedom with big government and its security blanket.
Conrad Black put it this way today in his hopeful assessment of the Ryan VP choice:
"Now the president will have to make the statist argument and plead his case before the country. The Republicans will have to fend off an avalanche of fear-mongering, but the country knows that their vastly wealthy nation has been chronically mismanaged by both parties and all levels and branches of government. The trivial, demeaning claptrap and back-biting that was all that has been politically on offer in that country since the piping days of Ronald Reagan will give way to debate on serious subjects, no matter how tinged with pyrotechnics about impending misery and bankruptcy (even if the incumbent vice-president, Joe Biden, an amiable malapropistic airhead, kicked off by telling an African-American audience last week that Romney and Ryan would put them “back in chains”)."
http://fullcomment.nationalpost.com/2012/08/25/conrad-black-on-paul-ryan-how-one-man-transformed-a-presidential-campaign/
Romney and Ryan must show Americans that a re-elected Obama will no longer be constrained by contesting another term, that the ideologues of his party, to whom he seems beholden, will now operate in an accelerating hard left policy environment, further demonizing the true (I believe) centre right political culture of America. They seek to remake the country in their "progressive" image and a second Obama term will bring them closer than ever to their goal.
The progressive progression isn't at the level of a conspiracy but it's nevertheless effective. I don't think the American people are ready to go there, but I'm not sure, though am growing more encouraged, the Romney ticket can convince the American people of the choice they must make.
There is hope though. Romney must look north and see how Stephen Harper stopped a similar, though less shrill but more established movement in Canada.
Shamrock said: "Like Obama's reputation, it's largely a fiction. Americans haven't suddenly shifted hard left."
Yes, and that appears to be the defining truth of this election. When confronted by the actuality of Leftist policy, Americans recoil in horror from it.
The election coming up will answer a lot of question on what has happened to America. If She re-elects the U than we know it no longer believes what its founders tried to create.
Fifteen years of that commie PeeAir Turdo with his disdain for the military and patriotism temporarilly changed how Canadians thought.Of course he came from that White Flag factory called Quebec that has never had any use for the military or patriotism, and with few exceptions probably never will.Thank God for Stephen Harper and a government that cares about Canada.
