  1. Huh?
“Gary Harrington, the Oregon man convicted of collecting rainwater and snow runoff on his rural property surrendered Wednesday morning to begin serving his 30-day, jail sentence in Medford, Ore. ‘I’m sacrificing my liberty so we can stand up as a country and stand for our liberty,’ Harrington told a small crowd of people gathered outside of the Jackson County (Ore.) Jail….”

  2. So, FIFA acheives it’s (own) goal of having the US women win the Olympics in soccer. But, they did this once again by having the referee cheat the game.
There was a flagrant handball by the US in their penalty box, and no one noticed?

FIFA have made soccer a cronies game!
So, the world Cup, or any FIFA organized game, can be purchased. CORRUPTION IS FIFA.

  3. In case you haven’t noticed, I feel strongly about this. FIFA are playing favorites to win new markets, but they are losing traditional markets.
Canada was NOT ALLOWED to beat the USA and the USA was not allowed to lose, because FIFA needed the USA Women’s team to win to further soccer in the USA.
I need this message to be pushed out to the whole planet. FIFA fixes games so FIFA wins. This is not sport. This is FIFA lining their own pockets.

  4. “Florida prosecutors today accidentally distributed a post-mortem photo of Trayvon Martin as well as copies of George Zimmerman’s college records, material that Florida law considers confidential and exempt from disclosure.”
“Zimmerman’s Seminole State College of Florida records–61 pages in total–include his original application to the community college and his class transcripts.”
Good that the affirmative action President didn’t go to high school / Uni in Florida…

  5. Thank you so, so much for allowing me into your country:

A teenager who joined two rival gangs as they ransacked businesses in London last year had sought asylum in the UK and was housed in a £3 million flat in Kensington, it was reported. Nasir Muhsen, 18, was one of several youths who went on a rampage through the capital during last summer’s riots. As well as attacking the exclusive restaurant The Ledbury, the court heard how Muhsen and his co-defendants raided an off-licence shop “like a pack of hounds”.
His part in the disturbances last year was played out in the same year he and his family were given a £6,000-a-month ($9,300 CAD) basement flat in a Victorian mansion block near Earls Court from the council. After being put up in the luxurious apartment having taken asylum in the UK from Iraq, the family reportedly trashed their home and were evicted at Christmas for not paying their subsidised rent.

  6. Mitt!’s spokeswoman let the genie out of the bottle today re : O’Robmoney care – Conservative
spokespeople are furious and the Demos are ‘making hay’. Good thing that the best candidate since George Washington did not quit – the Conservatives will vote for a real Conservative, in Tampa, if they want to win the White House. I pray that they do: Vote for Dr. Ron Paul.
No ‘individual’ mandates when Dr. Paul takes over – he will abolish EPA, NDAA, TSA, Dept of Education, Obama/Romney Care, CISPA…delegate all that bureaucracy to the states whose job it is to deal with those issues; same sex marriage too! Health food will be ‘up to you’ along with all other personal choice issues. He will cancel piles of executive orders and red tape hindering American citizens. America will return to the Constitution and once again be “The Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave”.

  7. Ahh, prison for youth. Must be terrifying to get 3 good meals a day (plus snacks) and all the entertainment/recreation they can handle. Heart wrenching.

  8. ‘The Sweater’: A pretty unremarkable production by an equally unremarkable presenter who got his hoped-for 15 minutes of fame tonite!
    Now, a TML production….different story.. w/b great stuff! :~D

  9. I just heard part of a segment with Bill O’Reilly and Laura Ingram discussing the Chick-Fil-A gay marriage controversy and Bill mentioned that the gay marriage organizations are calling for a boycott of Amway as it supports traditional marriage.
Where will this end? When everyone opposed to the gay agenda is forced to shut up?

  10. All sports contests are rigged. Wake up and smell the popcorn. Sports are merely a distraction to keep people from asking embarrassing questions their governments would rather not answer.

  11. @ Ken (Kulak) at August 9, 2012 11:48 PM
The boycott of Chick-fil-A was a complete disaster for the queer lobby. Thousands turned out to support Chick and the gays were almost invisible for their widely advertised kiss in. Chick had their highest volume sales in their history. This could be the best time to buy stock in Amway.

  12. north_of_60- My, with that attitude, must suck to be you!
What might make you just a little bit happy(er)?

  13. We have a so called “professional” soccer team in Vancouver-the Whitecaps. For being in a professional league they do the most un-professional things. Some games not all the players show up as they are “on loan” to the national team. Or one of the players missed a game cause he had to go to Vegas to get married. Or they play exhibition gaems in the middle of the season. And they dive endlessly and fondle each other after scoring.
    Whats not to like.

  14. double oops. When will I learn to proof-read before I hit ‘post’
FIFA has the ethics of a French figure-skating Judge.

You will never know what it’s like to be me, so stop making yourself look foolish by guessing about the lives of other forum members.
I have a totally happy life without any involvement in the sports bullshiit which keeps stupid people amused and distracted.
think bread and circuses, early A.D. time period in Rome.
    so true, so sad…

Listening to Obama explain where wealth comes from is like listening to a 4-year old explain where babies come from. Adorable!

  17. Toronto Star, Thursday, Aug. 9. Court orders new arbitrator in Canada Post dispute.
    http://www.thestar.com/news/canada/politics/article/1238792–federal-court-orders-new-arbitrator-for-canada-post-labour-dispute
“Although the union initially had allowed his name to stand on a list of Quebec arbitrators, it said it was unaware of his background until [Guy] Dufort forwarded his C.V. showing he’d been a prosecutor for Canada Post during the pay equity dispute from 1998 to 2003 and ‘had been involved with the Conservative Party of Canada until 2010.'”
Does this mean the union leaders put as much effort into investigating the arbitrator as they traditionally put into delivering the mail properly?

  19. I remember that short from my childhood. Reminds me of why I love hockey so much to this day. Long live Rick Martin and the French Connection.

An Open Letter to CBS News Radio Commentator Dave Ross
“In your segment “What happened to global warming being a hoax?” – aired during today’s 1pm hour on Washington, DC’s, WTOP radio – you played a clip of U.C.-Berkeley scientist Richard Muller saying that “all of this warming over the last 250, 260 years has been caused by green house gases emitted by humans.”
Being no physical scientist myself, I accept Mr. Muller’s claim. But contrary to most people’s reaction to this news, my reaction is “What a deal!”
In exchange for slightly warmer global temperatures, humanity gets off-the-charts benefits never before enjoyed by ordinary men and women – benefits that began to flow only 250, 260 years ago. In industrialized countries, these benefits include a near-tripling of life-expectancy; a growth in average real per-capita income to a level at least 30 times higher than it was a mere three centuries ago; an end to famine and plagues; abolition of the multi-millennial-old institution of slavery; widespread literacy; and an unprecedented expansion in women’s rights and opportunities – all these wonders, and more, from bourgeois commerce and industry powered in part by fossil fuels. Has humanity ever gotten so much at such a puny price?….”

  21. Hey north, there are far more of us that know that sports is just a part of the entertainment BUSINESS than the rest of them care to admit.

  22. So it turns out lamestream libtards were present during the conference call with cancer man and the Obama super pac / campaign team. In other words they are aware of the coordination between the super pac and the campaign. I know it surprises no one here that they would cover for Obama on this.

The original headline attached the video relating to the article you linked said something about Olivia Chow goes “solo” on this wilderness trip. Commentors quickly pointed out that “solo” means alone, without an outfitting company and photographers. G&M then changed the headline to first trip “without Jack”.
I have a feeling that this solo journey was being planned as a sequel to the farewell letter so spontaneously created by Mr. Layton. (The intrepid widow challenges herself to a grueling test of survival in the wilderness in order to find a reason to go on without her soul mate.)

  24. It’s Paul Ryan, the announcement is tomorrow at 9 AM at the USS Wisconsin museum. Let’s hope this moves the numbers.
