The Decline And Fall Of The American Empire

Wait, you guys practice tracking enemies by using civilian cars?” a reporter asked. One Air Force officer responded that this was only a training mission, and then the group was quickly hustled out of the room.

Drones have proven their effectiveness in various theaters, and have successfully taken out some highly-placed terrorists. Good stuff.

The pilot's opinion notwithstanding, I don't think it's "brave" to fly a UAV and take out enemy fighters from thousands of miles away, in the safety of air conditioned rooms and comfy leather chairs. Great work, and I applaud the remote termination of ranking al qaeda honchos, but "brave"...?

Bravery begins, IMHO, when your targets can shoot back and take you out.

IMO, this is a tempest in a teapot. It's public knowledge that years ago, the Air Force even did B-47, B-52 nuke bombing training flights in the US wherein they "nuked" US cities via electronic simulation at the end of the mission. There are lots of other news items that are big deals that the MSM is either studiously ignoring or deliberately under-reporting or distorting. These drone training flights ain't one of them.

Couldn't they use their own vehicles for training? If I saw a drone following my car, I'd shoot at it.
