It's amply documented that children in homes with an adult/adults who are not related to them by blood are much more likely to be abused.

The hope that multiple "parents" will cost the state less is a total fanstasy; the delusions of the progressive Leftards are stunning. Wishful thinking doesn't make something happen, just because they want it to. They need a magic wand to create their Utopia but there is none to be found.

Grow up, morons. Support our kids growing up with their biological mom and dad and stop manufacturing hopeful but pie-in-the-sky family models that create only confusion and grief -- and, frequently, abuse -- in the kids at the centre of them.

You non-Californians don't get it. We are the cautionary tale, the bad example. If we do it here in California, understand that it is a bad idea and don't repeat our mistakes. The wisdom is there if you know how to see it...

Afterthought: who says "father" should be "A". Isn't that discriminatory. Can't they come up with a round table nomenklature?

Years ago when I was twelve,
My parents got married to a widow who was pretty as could be.
This widow had a grown-up daughter who had hair of red.
I fell in love with her, and soon we two were wed.
This made my dad my son-in-law and changed my very life.
My daughter was my mother, for she was my father's wife.
To complicate the matters worse, although it brought me joy,
I soon became the son in law of another 19 year old boy.
My new baby brother then became a brother-in-law to dad and so became my Uncle,

Father's wife then had a son,

then I am her grandchild.

Trust me, we are a lot easier to live with than lesbians. A straight girl from California would probably think she hit the jackpot if she was living with 2 gay guys and raising a child with them.

I think the idea here would be to live in separate houses and share some sort of joint custody, much like divorced parents.

I really don't understand the point of this. It's all things that basically happen now, except instead of 2 parents and 2 step parents, now they can all be officially parents? How often does this situation actually arise?

After this law passes, California will declare Texas to be her father. Then she'll sue for parental financial support.
