Succint and true.A must read for ANYBODY,but especially the voters and the politicos. \i am so PO'd with parasites who view us producers a a effin money tree.

A fine rant Captain

I wonder if a similar discussion took place between a certain PM and a premier of a province that is continually making demands on the ROC?

First, congrats on the new eye-pleasing layout of your page. I'll be stopping by more often.. (please consider that a promise, not a threat! :})

Howsomeever, your statement:

If you collect a government check you are NOT supporting yourself and therefore living off the slave labor of others and are a BONAFIED PARASITE.

deserves a response. I shan't go into the etymology of 'bonafied', except to say that was how some university chaps I once knew described some women. But seriously:

Every police officer and fireman I know receives a "government cheque". Does that make them "parasites"? Ditto the guy who runs the street cleaner, or (at least here in the Great White North), the snow plow.

To go farther afield, what about the guy who does the driving tests at the DMV? Sure, I wish they were as strict as the Germans, but considering what we do see on the road, isn't keeping the people who actually fail their road test grounded of some value?

And while I'm one of the first to round on the public education system, are you seriously suggesting every single teacher is a "parasite"? I had a lot of terrible teachers, but I had some great ones as well, and they certainly affected my life positively.

Government, in and of itself, is not parasitic; it's symbiotic. People need government - ask yourself why every human culture has one - and governments clearly can't exist without people. But, I hasten to add, that doesn't mean the tools of government can't be used by a certain class of thieves as a means to create an unacknowledged slave class.

Entertaining rant, though. I've bookmarked your page.

Hey, let's commit crimes and burn down stuff so the police and fireman 'produce' more.

Great article. I like your "eye friendly" page too.

fiddle @1:34 - um...

I once watched a nature special where a young giraffe died due to a massive tick infestation. I wasn't able to find that video but I was able to find a giraffe calf on a farm that dies due to ticks, and a Canadian moose that died due to ticks just before it could be shot.

Captain:

Your post should be mandatory reading to everyone, especially the young ones.

With that said, there is an important issue here, seldom discussed, but very real all the same.

With the progress of technology, a producer can produce a lot more 'stuff' than the same producer did, say, 50 or 100 years ago. This is no more obvious than in farming. A century ago an American farmer could feed about 7-8 people. Now the same farmer can feed 100 or more. The same is true with many other industries. Many blame 'offshoring' for the loss of jobs but automation and computers have done just the same. The manufacturing sector in US produces over 3 trillion dollars worth of goods a year, with less than half the workforce it had 30 years ago.

Since fewer producers are needed, more and more end up being 'surplus' population, or parasites as you say. How do you deal with that? There are no easy answers.

Fun fact: when the Soviet Union collapsed, the life expectancy of men dropped from 65 to 58 years as "free" health care disappeared, and never completely recovered. When Western welfare states run out of other people's money, the same thing will happen as free markets are restored in health care. Put plainly, the elderly will die like flies.

It's already happening in Greece, with the elderly taking their own lives, praying that God will forgive the debts the Germans will not. In Greece, where Romanianization is completely uncalled for, it's a outrage, their blood on the hands of German bankers and Greek kleptocrats.

In Canada? It will be a matter for rejoicing.

When people are obliged to pay the full cost of their own medical care, who will the long-suffering children of liberal boomers (if they had any children!) be more likely to use their meagre resources to keep from death's door? Their own children whom they have sworn not to neglect as their parents neglected them? Or their accursed parents who spent their birthright, refused to pay for their education, and now are not only completely unrepentant but have the gall to demand eternal life in this world (at taxpayer expense) when all they have earned is eternal punishment in the next?

The answer is obvious. The end of the welfare state will remove the only thing standing between the boomers and hellfire.

They know it. That is why they, in their capacity as politiciansm are propping up insolvent banks and welfare states with every trick they can think of. Anything resembling real reform will happen, quite literally, over the dead bodies of the accursed boomers.

Amen.

(Repent, you say? If they were genuinely sorry and would even consider repentance---and they won't, having told themselves, like all fools, that there is no God---only a Roman Catholic could seriously believe falling sobbing into the arms of a pedophile in a clerical collar would mend matters. Most couldn't return double what they stole from their children, as God's law commands as amends for theft, if they tried.

The time to repent was a long time ago, when being sorry and mending their ways might have done some good. If you think grovelling to a pedophile priest or even their own children, who know better, will help the liberal boomers now, you do not believe in God or his law. You believe in magic.)

Can't get that concept through their thick, *&#@^%$g heads.

As per the question I put to a Min. of Ag dickhead a few years back after the heroes raided (and eventually shut down)a small butcher shop: "Have you people figured out where your paycheques are going to come from once you've finally closed down the last business in this *&#@^%$g province?

I think that the 'government cheque' that is referred to in this article is a cheque that is not given for services rendered.

When and if I retire,I will gladly accept the gov't cheque without guilt,I have contributed for close to 35 years now,and have a few more to go.

Your a union member!!!

Nuffield said !!!! Lol!

I want health care privatized, with a small free public option for those in need .

I want cpp cashed out and divided up amongst all legal tax paying citizens .

Same with old aged security , as well no property taxes for those who are 60 or older period end of story . Starting after all the boomers are dead of course. Lol.

And keep government out of the private lives of citizens!!!!

Because every time it medles this is what happens!!!

And keep government out of the private lives of citizens!!!!

Yeah, same goes for all the local recreation arenas. They want to have recreation, pay for it themselves.

Paul,so what?

There is a lot more to recreation arenas that what you think ..most people have an appetite for that (not all) but most do I think it should be a private thing with user fees and membership as apposesed to tax payer funded .

Interesting analysis that I agree with for the most part but the definition of a parasite needs a bit more work.

Having a collection of producers of things alone is a recipe for disaster as parasites could easily take the things they want and thus one needs a protection force for the producers. This task is accomplished by the military and police who are actively ensuring that producers are able to do their thing without interference. Since these individuals are paid by the producers but produce nothing tangible, they would be considered parasites in a simplistic binary analysis. I propose to add a symbiote class to the Captains nosology.

Enforcers of idiotic regulations are clearly parasites as are people on welfare. Sometimes parasites have their uses as I found out when interning in Vancouver. One of the great things about interning at St. Pauls was that there was no shortage of pathology among the street drunks and junkies and no-one really missed them if an intern made a diagnostic or treatment mistake. Thus, they served a useful educational purpose as disposable pathologic specimens who trained physicians to be better clinicians when it came to diagnosing and treating non-parasites. In some ways it was more of a symbiotic relationship as we found the limits of human physiology that this parasite class had pushed and patched them up so they could head back out on the street and continue their self-inflicted assault on their physiology coming back into hospital to train another generation of interns.

We all start out as parasites until we're evolved enough to become producers or symbiotes. Where the problem lies is in parasites being able to vote and restricting the right to vote to only producers and symbiotes would be the most effective means of ending the downward spiral of countries in which parasites can vote themselves more and more. We now deny the right to vote to the young parasites under the age of 18 and one can easily argue that the right to vote should be denied to older parasites. It may take a total disintegration of society to allow such ideas to emerge during the rebuilding phase.

Cold, but true. It is the way it is.

Actually Loki,it's not cold.

Damn parasites should go back to Paris where they belong...
