If you are not getting rich, it is because there is no level 'playing field'. No doubt a 'free and fair process'...gag, hack, cough...

Insider schtick and drinking each other's bathwater...conflict of interest and self dealing anybody?

Where is the mouth wash the jungle breath from all the gaseous lies is getting over powering?

Worst premier in Canada. It's appropriate though because she comes from the worst media pack in Canada. BTW Alex Tsakumis' blog did not survive his post. It's been nuked by the traffic.

anyone else get the how to make your brain smarter ad that came with this article??

Who do they think they are - Democrats?

The water is rushing into the BC Libel Party boat so fast that no one can find the life jackets. The Dippers are rubbing their hands together as they anticipate robbing (I mean taxing) more than a few bank accounts.

The last time they were in power I couldn't move but now I can.

When BC again becomes a workers' paradise, remember that there will be jobs in Alberta, at least until the Commies take over here.

It is looking more and more like the BC Conservative Party may be the only hope. If the NDP gets their hands on this province we are screwed. And if the Liberals under Clark run the province we are screwed.

The only other option is for the Liberals is to dump Clark as quickly as possible, and put a real leader in charge. That is probably never going to happen, so the BC Conservatives will soon get the attention of many voters.

The Premier at the time of the BC Rail sellout was Gordon Campbell. And Stephen Harper put Gordo in London.

I have difficulty reconciling these facts in my mind.

kakola, does the phrase "being kicked upstairs" hold any meaning for you?

Campbell is now in a basically ceremonial, do-nothing job, but he is still an employee of the Federal Government, so he has to keep his yap shut.

cal2 @ 2:53PM - Not I; maybe it is targeted to the needy.:)

Yes TJ, but Alex Tsakumis at Rebel with a Clause, who did most to expose Christie Clark and her cohorts on this, gives the same spiel about the B.C. Conservatives having too many "religious fanatics" (here read, anyone whose beliefs are slightly more than those described as being "
'passionately uncertain') this seems to point to a socialist government head up by a man who has the personality of stewed prunes.

It's really tragic that the people of British Columbia (I'm one of 'em) are the ones who'll be punished by a sharp tilt to the left with the election of Dix and his gang of tax and spend thugs. Christy Clark and her entourage will be just fine. As for me and my family? Saskatchewan is looking mighty attractive.....

"Who do they think they are - Democrats? "

In the US

bag = sack
pop = soda
Librano = Democrat

Same language different terms

gas = petrol.....
trunk = boot.....

So in BC, a Non-NDP politician takes flak for (allegedly unethically) privatizing a socialist enterprise resulting in a pseudo-conservative populist party emerging and splitting the vote to enable a return to the socialists.

When you consider the slow death of the federal Liberal Party, this is Canada's future as it morphs into a two party system, NDP and "Other". When "Other" is anything to the right of the NDP. there isn't mush room for real conservatives.

In the interest of accuracy it should be noted that the "memo to file" is merely signed by the writer and witnessed by a lawyer. That falls short of "Notarized" which requires the writer to swear that the contents of the memo are true and the lawyer to sign a declaration that the writer has sworn an oath as the accuracy of the contents.

Yep me and hubby are considering moving out west again, we bought our retirement home in NS and in the past six years the cost of living has gone sky high and the NDP had the indecency to add a electricity efficiency tax ontop of the 60 percent rate increases these past six years. Trust me the NDP can turn a province into a ghost town in no time flat.

Albertans choose a UN vetted socialist. We had a real chance to change things. The usual interests blew it up for security over liberty. Now where stuck with a self rightious human rights, UN flaky. Who couldent run a barn. These folks always loot. They don't know how to build , only steal. Its in thier socialist nature to be a fiscal vampire.

The job of BC premiere seems to nearly always precipitate into a visit of the pen...

One of the biggest problems in the political sphere of BC is the complete lack of a media that holds politicians and political party's to account. The BC Rail scandal has been a festering scab of corruption for many years and has gone almost completely ignored by a useless, compliant BC media. The past corruption of the BC NDP is also subject to the BC media's self imposed amnesia. Kristy the KLown was known to have had a nefarious past with regards to the "sale" of BC Rail and was welcomed with open arms by media giant CKNW radio as one of their on air hosts after she left BC politics, presumably to avoid the heat of the BC Rail scandal. The millions in payoffs to Basi and Virk lawyer fees was also largely ignored by the BC media. BC politics, like Ontario, Quebec, and Alberta is a mess! Like most British Columbians I'm terrified at the damage that will occur with Comrade Dix and the NDP in power, but they could hardly be any worse then the BC Liberals. I will be voting for the BC Conservatives and hope others will too.

Give the NDP time. Dix will put his hoot in his mouth so far it comes out his butt. They are giddy with the thought of actually having power again, and that is a formula for combustion.

L. Hill

I love these not waiting for the asteroid moments where the lamestream media interviews bloggers to get the newstory they should have covered years ago. Hats off to Alex Tsakumis for once again dragging the lamestream media dodo birds to this story. BC is where they send the really dumb ones.

Worst premier in Canada ? She may stink but still looks good compared to that idiot McGuinty.

It's too bad the BC Cons are so inept and unable. Methinks Cummins a poor choice.

Well then LAS, I guess you may have to vote for the known quantity of Christie Clark, or the totally unknown, but greatly feared, qualities of the socialists. And how can you know the B.C. Conservatives will be inept? They have yet to be tried, and if conjoined with some very efficient and hardworking members of the B.C. Liberals ??? Methinks Cummins worth the gamble.

Cummins has at least spent time at the federal level, knowing the ins-and-outs of policy making and the pecking order of how a government runs. Having spent time with Harper, he has seen his precision in media conquering and keeping the media on a well deserved leash.

The NDP have less governing power and are mainly made up of former government workers and party wankers. They are all experiencing the "thrill up the leg" of being in a position of taking the reins of the Province, but there is much water to go under the bridges before next year. There will be lots of time to vete the NDP and show that the only plan they have is to tax and spend. When the economy continues to slip and slide and slow down, the populace will stare the Dippers down, telling them that the stone is dry. The Socialists have no plan, just like the Dems, and we can all see how that plan is working out.

Larben @4:56. Stewed prunes .Ha! Ha!.. He reminds me of a very famous chicken farmer from the 30's-40's.. I think he is keeping his fly/wing/pulling, under control until he take's power, much like that Mulcair monster did during their leadership convention. I am afraid we will live and learn, with these two.

I had the unfortunate experience to live in BC under Glen Clark's NDP. I fled back to Alberta where after too few years of Klein, we ended up with Alberta's own Stephan Dion - "Special Ed" Stelmach. Now we've got a Conservative-in-name-only in Allison REDford. With the exception of Saskatchewan, (who would have guessed?) it seems no one has learned anything from the socialist debacles...anywhere. Margaret Thatcher said it best, "Socialism's a wonderful thing, until you run out of other people's money."

I was a staunch B.C. Liberal supporter, once rnning for my ridings' nomination. But as the predictable rot of second and then third term arrogance set in, I realized they are really 'NDP Lite', both ethically and in policy.

Like many I find myself rudderless and at sea, but it appears the B.C. Conservative Party will be our port of refuge for next year.

Adrian Dix and his party are salivating, along with the B.C. Teacher's Federation and the public service unions who whine about their 'zero and zero' contracts.

Despite the fact that public service employees are FAR in advance of their private sector counterparts, they know it's going to be plunder time next year.

I don't get this province or this country. How can the NDP possibly be ahead of the federal Conservative Party in polls when we have the most advanced and stable economy in the G8, along with excellent reform policies in immigration, crime and economics?

B.C. will be in for a bad patch, perhaps worse than in the 70's under Dave Barrett and the 90's under Glen Clark.

Buckle up children - we're in for a very bumpy ride, indeed.

"I don't get this province or this country. How can the NDP possibly be ahead of the federal Conservative Party in polls when we have the most advanced and stable economy in the G8, along with excellent reform policies in immigration, crime and economics?"

Considering the left won almost half the seats in the country, the answer would be that Harper is not handing out enough free stuff. He made a dent in the gun laws and the CHRC. He even cut back on the revered CBC and other cherished drones. The left worships free stuff and fawns over Mulcair's plan to destroy the evil empire. They even think McGuinty is sane. The good of the country has no standing when it comes to saving Gaia and Harper is not even kissing the UN's ass in throwing billions to keep Agenda 21 going. Bet Liz May even blames him for running out of toilet paper at the Rio conference although they saved dozens of trees on her alone. So there you have it. Half the people will hate the conservatives no matter what they do.

Before trusting a poll's validity consider who is conducting the poll and who they are being paid to conduct the poll for. And also where and whom they ask the poll questions. If they conduct a poll and only ask people in Toronto south of Bloor they are gonna get the results that the NDP clients are looking for whether it is true or not. That way they keep the client happy and coming back for future business.

"So in BC, a Non-NDP politician takes flak for (allegedly unethically) privatizing a socialist enterprise resulting in a pseudo-conservative populist party emerging and splitting the vote to enable a return to the socialists."

This is a gross oversimplification of the situation. The truth is that the BC Liberals have made every possible mistake in the book, and unfortunately because of their stupidity we may pay a huge price in BC.

If the vote splits to favour the NDP the fault will lie *squarely* with Clark and the Liberals.

@ TJ
I would hazard a guess that the fault lies with Gordon Campbell who screwed the citizens and then ran. That's a tough comeback. Like Mulroney handing over the reins to Kim Campbell after he pi$$ed off the whole country. Clark is also hanging on to the carbon tax and that alone is enough to turf her out. Her only saving grace at this point is that her opposition has a record much like Bob Rae's. Completely inept.

well, that's not a notarized document. And Dave Bassi is a convicted criminal. This is hardly something any news outlet should take at all seriously.

'"Not a notarized document and Dave Basi is a criminal" so it is hardly anything any BC news outlet should take seriously'

I guess it depends on who the criminal is since Bill Clinton makes millions and is not only an impeached president but a convicted felon who lost his law licence for 5 years for lying and obstructing justice.
( can't do jail time when you're the prez you know)

As for Christy Clark, this is a smoking gun that has the ring of truth to it, no matter who is involved in the exposure of it.
We are not fond of Christy Clark in this house and we have eyed Sask for some time because of what is happening in BC AND what is happening in Sask.
Brad Wall and his policies look great.
But to turn over this province to the likes of Dix and the Nippers and the Unions... blah... that does leave a bitter taste.
I'd rather fight than run. But Cummins at the helm of the Conservative party out here is not going to cut it or get an election won.
What we need is a Tea Party Canada style.

Happy Infidel, I'm much too young to remember chicken farmers from the 30's and 40's: Perhaps it came from the promise of a chicken in every pot? Nonetheless, I think we will die and die stupid if these two characters get in.

There is a reason that the teachers and their cohorts in the labour movement are treading water and not wildcatting. The Dippers can see power and will assume the non-radical cloak until they get it.

In my area the only active party that I see are the Dippers. They are active in the papers and at public functions. They are reassuring everyone who will listen that they know how to run the government for the benefit of the average Joe. Un- fortunately the average Joe does not want to spend a lot of time actually thinking about what they are saying.

For those that get pleasure denouncing Gordon Campbell I suggest they read the archives to be reminded what this province was before his election. He accomplished great things in his first term and part of the 2nd. Unfortunately the influence peddlers and carpet baggers gained position in a philosophically weak colalition.

If anything the recent AB election proved that the electorate can turn on a dime. The sad sack Libel Party of BC is going down. The fiscal conservatives within that group should realize that and cross the floor to the PC Party. If they do not then it tells me that their interest does not jive with that of most BCers.

No one hated the Reform Party more than the Dippers. Reform popularism was a better draw than the NDP twisted BS of envy and greed. What the conservative movement has lost in BC is the grassroots organization and involvement that Reform carried across Canada. I blame the CPC party of today for taking that involvement for granted. Ultimately it will cost them government.

BC has more than its fair share of wackos and always has (left Coast phenomenon). Bill Bennett was the last conservative Premier. The centrist wackos that followed him took the Socreds into oblivion. Flip Wilson built the BC Liberal Party up from the remains, couldn't keep it in his pants, and Campbell took over. The point of the history lesson is that there aren't enough "conservatives" in BC to warrant their own party. That isn't Campbell's fault, he knew better but power trumped principle, and the sloth he had to work with in his own party would have driven anyone to drink like he did.

One can despise Christie Clark all one wants but that won't change the fact that in BC, that's about as good as it gets, until someone figures out a way to create more principled conservatives or better still, libertarians.

Alternatively, if all the energy that is going into stroking the ego of John Cummings (to enable a Dix government), went into working on the inside of the BC Liberals, you might see at least glacial changes in principles while keeping the NDP shut out of power.

Nothing can be dumber than moving 'cos of polticis.

It's about as effective as moving from the long line to the short line at the supermarket,
which always instantly becomes the slower line.

I too lived under Clark and am still here.
Marginal tax rate of 54%, which after allowing for VAT was a 40 cent dollar to spend.

Back and forth and back and forth and back and forth the pendulum swings.
