Operation Fast and Furious

Meets Jon Stewart.

More from Bill Whittle - the ideological motives behind the Fast & Furious scandal.

That whole song and dance routine is getting more and more obvious every day. The media is slowly and reluctantly picking this story up.. the most absurd example is I saw a clip of Rachel Mad-cow trying to trivialize it.... sickening really. Bill Whittle kicks ass with his rant..

Notice that all clips are from Fox, the only network covering this scandal. It's obviously racist though.

I saw Bill Whittle's talk on this earlier today, I'd be big of Fox, maybe on Hannity's show, to just put the entire piece on his show and watch the sparks fly.

If a foreign country had supplied small arms, or bomb making material to the FLQ in the late 1960's, would the CBC have covered it?

B. Hussian can't grant himself immunity in this matter, and there's going to be a new sheriff in town next 21 January 2013

This Fast and Furious deal is nakedly illegal, partisan and embarrassing for the Obama administration. Obama may have gone too far to throw Holder under the bus without getting splash-back.

But notice that Stewart did not mention Eric Holder by name, for his refusal to provide document (he mentioned the DOJ, but not Holder)

That's it in a nut shell. It just has to be racist.
Just looking at anyone in the Obama White house with less than worship is an act of racism.

The only way OBOZO can get Holder under the bus quietly....what's the term...."extreme prejudice".

Holder will not fall on his sword.....

I suspect Holder is as nervous as a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs.....

As Whittle commented those causing hundreds of deaths for an "ideological concept" are capable of anything.....

Scary when ya think on it.....

Whittle's a great speaker, and yes the leftist media blackout is shocking. (Considering their ratings death spiral, how much longer will we be able to call them the MSM?)

I think Eric Holder was selected for Attorney General specifically because of his loyalty and tight lips, the Gun Runner & Chief chose wisely.

If I was Holder, I'd hire a food taster.

The fact that the Democrats' usual propagandists -- CBS, notably, and Jon Stewart and others -- are clearly starting to hedge their bets is a sure sign that Obama is in trouble.

Wrt Jon Stewart, I wonder how many urban coastal hipsters who've either been mostly unaware of the details/substance of Fast & Furious because they've been getting their news from NBC/ABC or from lefty blogs, or have been pooh-poohing the significance of the Fast & Furious scandal whenever the subject comes up in conversation, had their heads explode after watching Stewart's rant. More than a few, I'm guessing.

To whatever extent it's become "cool" to start criticizing the Obama administration, all bets are off for the Dems.

I see that Jon Stewart's writers/string pullers have decided to pretend this is all "new" and hasn't been all over the news the last two years. Way to show up late to the party boys.

I'll start thinking its funny when the names "Holder" and "Obama" start getting prominent mention.

Not one mention of the U.S. Border Patrolman murdered with one of these weapons. Or the fact that the Attorney General was caught lying about this whole affair.
This is another Stewart attempt at trying to get ahead of the train wreck so people will giggle instead of bay for blood.

Not only did jon Stewart not name Eric Holder but he used the photo of some white guy to put the blame on.

White liberals never ever say bad things about non-caucasians, and it is annoying the hell out of me.

Just think,,,if the MSM picked up a gem like Kate or Claudia Rosette or Steve Janke etc, they could get rid of the RED INK, have honest journalism instead of the urinalism they now spew, or is that also a leftie plank in their quest or break western economies?

It's like the bizarro version of watergate.

In that scandal woodstein stirred the media pot well before the rest of the media took it up (most thought it was typical poltical dirty tricks - what they hadnt banked on was that Nixon had allowed colson to operate inside the white house). But at least the washingon post - arch-liberal that it was then as it is now -printed what they had and thus gave the rest of the MSM impetiois to take up the case. That is definitely not happening here - the MSM is demonstrably trying to avoid giving F & F any attention.

The important similarity is that in both cases the outcome will be the same. In the end woodstein - contrary to the widely accepted myth - had nil impact on the watergate investigation. The courts did their job. And once Sirica had the reins the press - woodstein included were little more than court reporters.

The MSM bought into the myth and now think that by ignoring F & F that it will go away - that it was they who took down Nixon and that it is they who will keep holder and Obama from being taken down by this scandal.

They are wrong. Issa and soon congress and shortly the courts will take them down. The only question is whether it will happen before November. And the aftermath for the press will be a vanquishing of whatever trust that the MSM has left. The adage of the sixties and early seventies was "question authority".

today's is "question media".

The wheels turn slowly, very slowly. Slowly democrats are being exposed, especially BO, for who they are by more media outlets.

In my mind, the big concern is who is running the Democratic Party? Obama is looking like a dead duck. Will they somehow nominate the other Clinton in September? Or will they, similar to the Republicans in 2008, let Obama hang out to dry?

There are many small time bloggers, who have helped sway opinion, and sway the MSM to start reporting facts. And then there are some larger ones, like Breitbart and Drudge, and of course Kate, who have been instrumental in exposing the President.

I'm not sure of what specific laws were broken, perhaps treason. Will we see Obama and Holder actually fight these charges while in office? Or will the Americans deem their resignations as punishment enough.

President Biden is looking like a real possibility....and a BFD too!

I hope everyone noticed that the clip shown was from June 2011. Stewart returned to the material this week:

Stewart reprises Fast and Furious Note: you'll have to endure a couple of annoying ads from CTV, but it's worth it. Stewart now mentions Holder, shows Issa's statement about a contempt charge, and then touches briefly on Bambam's executive privilege excuse.

And, every time Stewie utters the words "we sold guns to Mexican drug cartels", he looks down at his desk; even he realizes this was a cock-up of the first order.

Watched the vid.

Disgusting. Several people - maybe hundreds - have been murdered using these guns. That Stewart and his audience are getting Yuks out of it is obscene.

KEVINb: Stewarts 2012 spot is even more obscene than the 2011 one. He compares 'exectutive privledge" to a bat mitzvah fer chrissakes.

From the movie '48 Hours' with Eddie Murphy, "I'm your worst nightmare! I'm a nigg*r with a badge!". Holder and Obama. I rest my case.

gord:

Try watching Stewart's show from the very next night, where he not only takes Bambam to task for claiming EP, he then shows up how smarmy the Dems are in their weak attempts to justify it:

Daily Show - 'Attorney at Flaw'

Hard to accept Gord, but this is the leftie world, seems nothing means anything to a leftie like Stewart, sooo funny, innocent working class people being gunned down by scum with govt sanctioned firearms, so groovy and you be jivein man Snoop Dog Pres. Barack and your bro and home boy Eric. Sorry can't break dance either.

Great. Liberals who watch the Daiy Show have now heard about sh*t that we've been pissed off about since forever? How darling. Am I Breitbart for this?
Bah.

TOutcast..10:42...Ted Turner can't see his love affair with Mr. and Missus Ghetto is killing his life's work.I know a lot of us her think the CBC is biased, buy CNN is in a class of it's own.

Kevin B:

Are you and i watching the same video?

Stewart implies that Executive privledge is an overreaction - that his use of EP is "the same" as GWB's use of it. Which it completely is not.

Stewart is just another flack for obama who is dissembling just like the rest of them. Scum.

Jon Stewart. We have to get his fake name real! Noone will take us seriously otherwise. Are we amateurs?

If I knew I might have to spend several years in a Mexican jail cell with a hairy tattooed drug cartel criminal named El Grande Buttocks.

I would have sent the congressional investigators black or even green blank documents..

I have a hard time agreeing with Whittle that BO and Holder sold guns to drug cartel to make it easier to bring in gun control in the USA. That to me is a big leap and my friends they dont come more right wing yours truly.

Holder on the last afternoon of the Clinton admin. wrote the pardon granted Marc Reich. That should have disqualified Holder to be nominated by Obama for Attorney Gen.
The MSM is notorious for "overlooking" Dem. issues, remember only Nat'l Enquirer would initially report on John Edwards and his "lady freind". The NYT and CBS had to on threat of Congress had to now after 2 years introduce and explain the issue to their audiance.

Pretty obvious attempt to off-load responsibility for this cluster frig from Obama and Holder onto the ATF

Jon Stewart is:
A)Too leftard to spell his first name properly
B)Not funny
C)A pathetically open partisan hack
D)Connected on Wall Street and The Obama Admin.
E)All the above

Whittle's plain talk tps the head of th nail again. There is no doubt the collective globalist let (AKA as the new world order) are overtly elitist, racist, classist and anti-human - all of that displayed in spades in the Fast and Furious scanda; and its subseqent cover up by the corporate media.

The collective left at the leadership level, want a passive disarmed population - why? Check their views on euthanasia and planetary depopulation - then check the history of statist left regimes and their pogroms.political cleansing.

The sooner the population awakes to the fact that this "happy face global socialism" it's anti self defense, anti-individual freedom and anti-free speech messaging hides the face of a genocidal monster, the better mankind will be.

MikeM, its difficult to think of people in high government office as being -dumb- enough to do something like this for the reason given, that being propaganda. But consider the alternative, that this was a law-enforcement operation. Viewed that way it is even worse.

To help the incredulity circuits adjust, consider the -billions- of US Federal tax monies given to Solyndra and other companies by Team Obama. Is it more reasonable to assume those funds were laundered through the granting process and ended up in the hands of the Obama campaign through a series of cut-outs? Or is it more reasonable to think that the people in the granting process didn't check over the books of a bunch of companies which were ALL teetering on the sharp edge of insolvency?

From a Canadian perspective, is it reasonable to think that the Gun Registry was proposed and pursued to the tune of two billion dollars in all honesty and good faith? Or is it more likely they stole the friggin' money and used the law to spank Conservative voters in Flyover country?

On another issue, above some of us are taking up the cry that people were killed with these guns. That's a favorite bit of liberal propaganda that we should be wary of echoing.

Yes, the cartels have killed people with the guns they smuggled in from the USA under Fast & Furious. Yes, one of those people was a US Border Patrol agent. However the implication of constantly repeating that is that the US government had some power to prevent those murders through gun control. That the Border Patrol guy would still be alive if only Eric Holder wasn't such a stupid git.

This is of course utter madness. The entire country of Mexico is under a 100% gun ban. People go to jail for years for the possession of a few .22 rimfire cartridges. As in, just what was wedged in crevices in the trunk of the car when they got searched. (Skeptics are advised to Google that, it'll curl your hair.)

Notwithstanding this ban, the drug cartels are awash with foreign sourced guns and ammunition, up to and including heavy machine guns and RPGs from Eastern Europe, China, what have you. Even the lowest gang-banger scum can get his hands on some kind of AK or Mosin-Nagant rifle, Makarov pistol, etc.

The reason those guns got walked out of the USA to Mexico was -prestige-. AR-15s and expensive American pistols are fashion statements for these clowns, they show the owner's relative position in the scumbag pecking order. You got a gold-plated Colt .45, you're a Big Kahuna, you got a busted-@ss AK you're a dog. (Again, skeptics are advised to google "gold-plated AK" for further info.)

So while its fine to smack the liberals upside the head with their own straw man, it is important to remember that it -is- a straw man and not a real argument. You want to lay them out cold, you use the Cluebat of Truth. Which in this argument is that US gun control and US border fences will make absolutely ZERO difference to Mexican body counts and drug cartel incursions into US border states.

What will make a difference is going after the smugglers and migrants Rat Patrol style, and shooting anybody who doesn't surrender peacefully. You wax a couple hundred drug runners in the desert and leave their heads on fence posts, the rest will get the idea and find something else to do.

What's Barry doing? The opposite. The border patrol has been ordered to stand down their patrols, and the INS is -releasing- illegals turned in to the Feds by state authorities and local police. Going on four years now. Why? So ACORN can register more illegals to vote, that's why.

Remember Hillary Clinton a few short years ago, stating that guns need to be banned in the US citing that they are used by drug cartels in Mexico!

“U.S. agrees to timetable for UN Gun Ban”

http://nationalgunrights.org/blog/?p=359

Fast & Furious was an Obamba administration covert attack on the 2nd Amendment, namely to blame murders and violence in Mexico on guns provided by US citizens to Mexicans. They got caught, nothing less than treasonous.

What I have more than a bit of a problem is all these "walked guns" being found at crime scenes....

Are these mexican criminals that careless or just plain stupid? Or is part of the deal to leave the "walked guns" at the scene?

Riddle me that!

The border patrol guys are trained marksmen, and very effective when they are not forced to shoot bean bags. The druggie louts are untrained, sloppy cowards, but smart enough to know that the BP won't shoot them in the back as they run away while NOT CARRYING A WEAPON. If they have a gun in hand, much better chance they will get shot, so they drop them and run.

Mexico is under a 100% gun ban. People go to jail for years for the possession of a few .22 rim-fire cartridges.
Notwithstanding this ban, the drug cartels are awash with foreign sourced guns and ammunition.

When we ban legal handguns and long-guns,
Only the criminals will have guns.

One cartel headquarters + one cruise missile = one small step for mankind. Same medicine for Syrian military offices.

After all we can shoot terrorists with drones, no?

The Phantom:
That is a most excellent observation!: your reminder that we should not unwittingly re-inforce the lefty memes about gun control by citing the fact that an American was killed with one of these guns. That is immaterial except as evidence of government incompetence and corruption.

I have made a similar point about repeating bogus lefty memes: for example, chastising liberal elites for hypocrisy due to their big "carbon footprints". In doing so we subtly re-inforced the bogus link between Co2 and "global warming".

Me No Dhimmi, sometimes it's difficult to talk about this subject because 99% of it is propaganda to start with. The ATF "compromising" the rules of cross-border gun shopping, or even the rules against selling to known criminals, this is of administrative interest only. As a practical matter it had zero impact on the drug trade in Mexico and the border states.

The truth of the matter is that these rules are not designed to stop crime or prevent murder, they are designed to provide jobs for ATF agents and make it look like the government is Doing Something. If there were NO friggin' rules at all there'd be -less- crime, not more.

As a proponent of -less- government it is of absolutely no import to me that the administrative niceties of gun transfer law were breached by the head of the ATF, the head of the Justice Dept., the Attourney General and probably the President. Because the rules are STUPID and don't do anything. Take a cup of water from the ocean and pour it back, that's how much this matters.

That these men broke all those rules is important from a political perspective however. Because their party is the one who made the rules in the first place, because their public pronouncements indicate they would very much like to have many more such rules, and because the USA has a treaty with Mexico saying that the rules will be followed, no matter how idiotic they are.

What's important is that law is only law for these guys until they have something to gain by breaking it. That's dangerous.

The truth of the matter is that these rules are not designed to stop crime or prevent murder, they are designed to provide jobs for ATF agents and make it look like the government is Doing Something. If there were NO friggin' rules at all there'd be -less- crime, not more.

Damn YES. That warmed the cockles of this libertarian's heart. The example I often use to underline your point is how orderly and respectful drivers are at intersections when the lights are down.

Rules, signs, the proliferation thereof: something I've become increasingly aware of lately, most recently on a walk along the Stanley Park Seawall.

David The Menzoid Menzies put it nicely recently in referring to it as "Obedience Training" (mandatory re-cycling is a good example).

There's another huge DANGER in this kind of deliberate government law-breaking to create a false premise for more intervention: an ever more cynical citizenry, 9/11 Trooferism being one example.

I'm reading some revisionist war history (Ralph Raico's, Great Wars, Great War Leaders) at the moment and am therefore even more attuned to government mischief.
