CNN: That Annoying Background Noise At The Airport

I loved the line in the article about how CNN is the only network to do "unbiased honest reporting"

Essentially the media outlet let a captive audience dissipate and move to outlets like fox, because, a) they were boring, b) they became overtly biased with carrying the democrats water, and c) hired lefty commentators who were about as interesting as watching a toads ass.

The further from the truth we get, the harder it will be to return to reality. Europe has been finding that out for a while, the US is into fairy-world deep now with the flying monkey driving the Titanic, and these so called news outfits have been deluding themselves and lieing to the public for years, and here is the end result, the boy who cried wolf once to often, now controls much of the news media, that is our current so called MSM, this is merely the results of education of most of the consumer. The public for the most part know who the liars are, here is the confirmation.

In defence of CNN .... their HLN programming is probably the best source for fast breaking events.

The problem for them is that after that first 60 seconds of lead .... it all falls apart.

One of the things I enjoy about our SunTV news is that they are the exact opposite. The stuff they take the time to research and put some production effort into is the best. As stories develop they become more accurately defined.

Maybe they should hire Keith Olbermann to bring up their Neilsen ratings.

I rarely watch CNN anymore,if I want Left-wing news,I can just go to CBC,CTV,or Global.

"They are trying to stick to old-fashioned, unbiased news broadcasting."

I didn't mind the old fashioned unbiased news broadcasting. I haven't seen any of that since about 1990 - maybe since the Clinton love-in. Sometime around then news became selective, biased, and opinionated against conservatives.

Haven't watched CNN for many years as it reminded me to much of the CBC. Whoever wrote the article is part of the problem if he thought CNN was unbaised. That said I don't watch FOX that much either. Not by choice as the CRTC gave them to much trouble to broadcast in Canada. Surprised?

Shaw took SUN NEWS off their basic and I have never subscribed to it. Most of my news now comes off the internet.

"still regarded as the nation's most reliable TV news brand. It has resisted the temptation to follow Fox and MSNBC in using partisan anchors."

Guy Adams has leg tingles.

About the only unbiased news reporting I ever heard was the old BBC world report on short wave radio. They would let both sides speak in their own words about some conflict in Africa until the listener's eyes started to bleed from boredom. But it was unbiased. All the network news, news papers etc have always had a particular bias which is sometime obvious and sometimes so well hidden in the cultural milieu you have trouble picking out the direction the media is leading the masses. Think Walter Cronkite.

CNN...Old folk's living room background noise par excellence.

My mother in law, bless her heart, has CNN on pretty much all day.
A few years ago; while visiting, a mention of Sarah Palin came up on her TV and she said: "Oh that Sarah Palin, I don't like that woman"

I then asked her; Why, why do you hate her? Can you give me reasons.
After insisting a few times to answer she could not tell me specifically why.

Brainwashing and opinion forming can be very subtle.

Even if CNN's ratings are in the toilet, they have most of our seniors and for this, the lefties can still count on many votes at the ballot boxes...CNN will carry on being financed by people like George Soros if need be...Mark my words, it will not die anytime soon and certainly not because of financial returns.

The last time I saw CNN was at the airport, like Kathy Shaidle says above. I had to position myself facing away from the TV and put on headphones to avoid it. Otherwise I'd have chucked a suitcase through the flat-screen.

IMHO it isn't just that their anti-Republican, anti-Conservative bias is both blatant and extreme. It is also the sex/violence/murder news they chose to cover and the obscene details the news readers rhyme off nonchalantly.

I would not allow a child to watch CNN at any time of day including 2:00pm in an airline terminal, for fear that they'll see and hear something profoundly disturbing. Imagine the CNN feed covering the South Beach Cannibal, face eating insanity wall to wall for a week.

I have to imagine it, because I haven't seen it and I won't see it. CNN lost me as a customer a long frickin' time ago, and television as a service lost me roughly four years ago. I'm just not willing to have TV on, the cost in emotional uproar and time wasted is too high.

I know they put that stuff in there in the hope of boosting ratings through prurient interest, but ratings seem to indicate they're extremely wrong about that. People are apparently becoming less and less tolerant of having the violence and perversity in their space, while TV executives seem not to be paying any attention to what their audience is doing.

Pull the plug, my friends. Hasten their descent into bankruptcy.

When it comes to CNN, I have always wondered why they never hired Dan Rather. He fits in like a well worn glove.
Ted Turner the billionaire socialist has made it a personal; screed for his Political ideals.
I am always amazed that people who made their money by Capitalist means , turns to Marx. I figure its a monopolist ploy.
They want no rivals. To bad most people have caught on for him.

I figure there is indeed some of those "now that I'm in, shut the door behind me" going on. But I think an even bigger explanation is that they think copping a Marxist pose and giving lip service to redistributionist rhetoric will provide them a measure of immunity in the popular culture. I mean, notice how the dastardly "1%" never seems to include Ted Turner, Warren Buffet, Bill Gates, or uber-rich Hollywood and all of its champagne socialists.

"They are trying to stick to old-fashioned, unbiased news broadcasting."

This is in their minds, as, after all, left-liberalism is the new benchmark.

I spent a lot of time in the US last year, and I noticed a lot of airports had Fox News on the giant TV's, not CNN, but:

I don't find Fox any better than CNN. It's just as biased, albeit towards a different side, and some of their "anchors" are just as stupid as CNN's. I don't doubt that blonde headed bimbo (Gretchen?) on Fox would do as poorly as Chris Matthews did in Jeopardy!

Frankly, the only all-news I watch is City or CP24, because they quickly report on traffic, etc. problems, and they have useful 'bugs' to keep me up to date on stocks, sports, etc. I mostly ignore what they're saying.

I would like to see Wolfy in Jeopardy again, so he can show off his moron-ness. Epitome of a talking head.

which is why I prefer to get my news from many sources and compare the articles' slants as opposed to taking what one 'newscaster' says as undeniable gospel..especially after they've been caught so many times not only misreporting the news, but outright manufacturing it a la exploding trucks that only needed a little help from a remote igniter and Bush's military paperwork they drug out that was almost as badly faked as 'bama's 'birth certificate'...not to mention cbc's 'coverage' of Harper's stump speech that was so crudely spliced together I wanted the technician fired for incompetence as much as fraud.

all that said, however, the Internet is the way of the future and just in case anyone hasn't seen it..this is how it all came to pass...

How the Internet Was Started..............

In ancient Israel, it came to pass that a trader by the name of Abraham Com did take unto himself a young wife by the name of Dot. And Dot Com was a comely woman, broad of shoulder and long of leg. Indeed, she was often called Amazon Dot Com.

And she said unto Abraham, her husband, "Why dost thou travel so far from town to town with thy goods when thou canst trade without ever leaving thy tent?

And Abraham did look at her as though she were several saddle bags short of a camel load, but simply said, "How, dear?"
And Dot replied, "I will place drums in all the towns and drums in between to send messages saying what you have for sale, and they will reply telling you who hath the best price. And the sale can be made on the drums and delivery made by Uriah's Pony Stable (UPS)."

Abraham thought long and decided he would let Dot have her way with the drums. And the drums rang out and were an immediate success. Abraham sold all the goods he had at the top price, without ever having to move from his tent. To prevent neighboring countries from overhearing what the drums were saying, Dot devised a system that only she and the drummers knew. It was known as Must Send Drum Over Sound (MSDOS), and she also developed a language to transmit ideas and pictures - Hebrew To The People (HTTP).

And the young men did take to Dot Com's trading as doth the greedy horsefly take to camel dung. They were called Nomadic Ecclesiastical Rich Dominican Sybarites, or NERDS.

And lo, the land was so feverish with joy at the new riches and the deafening sound of drums that no one noticed that the real riches were going to that enterprising drum dealer, Brother William of Gates, who bought off every drum maker in the land. And indeed did insist on drums to be made that would work only with Brother Gates' drum heads and drumsticks.

And Dot did say, "Oh, Abraham, what we have started is being taken over by others." And Abraham looked out over the Bay of Ezekiel, or eBay as it came to be known. He said, "We need a name that reflects what we are."

And Dot replied, "Young Ambitious Hebrew Owner Operators." "YAHOO," said Abraham. And because it was Dot's idea, they named it YAHOO Dot Com.

Abraham's cousin, Joshua, being the young Gregarious Energetic Educated Kid (GEEK) that he was, soon started using Dot's drums to locate things around the countryside. It soon became known as God's Own Official Guide to Locating Everything (GOOGLE).

That is how it all began. And that's the truth

Perhaps the reason they show CNN at the airports is because the screeching from Nancy Grace scares the birds and the terrorists away.

Their downfall started the day they moved to NYC. Pretty soon anyone serious left and now they've got Sollidad and Anderson Pooper and what's his nuts who replaced Larry King the worst interviewer in the history of the world.

You mean people can resist Piers Morgan? But he's so pudgy and smarmy and insecure and arrogant and vapid. It's magnetic.

Geez I thought I was the only one Black Mamba.
He's such a "tool", he's entertaining.

It's like Onion TV.
