Is There Nothing That Obama Can't Do?

Via Planet Gore;

“Current EPA science has a pattern. The agency relies on one or two cherry-picked studies which indicate the most adverse health effects at the lowest concentration of the pollutant in question,” Katherine Hartnett White of the Texas Public Policy Foundation told NRO. In regards to the EPA’s recent action, White added, “The EPA cannot resist to make standards stricter and stricter using increasingly weak science. They are falsely scaring the public.”

It's not a "pattern". It's an agenda.

The EPA is the equivalent to Greenpeace with guns. They practice environmental Stalinism by ignoring innocence and guilt and go after convictions. It is assumed that if you are engaged in any commercial activity, you are essentially a criminal. This was how the BC government treated the forest industry after the last (and the next) time the NDP won.

So yes, Obama can do something. He can wage war against prosperity and do it quite effectively. After he is defeated in November, the EPA should not be clamped down upon which would only build steam for another opportunity to run wild. It must be eliminated and done so on a State's Rights basis as each State has their own environmental regulatory organization. Let them compete for business.

But it didn't start with Obama. The 1992 EPA meta study on second hand smoke is what started the crusade against smoking. Their water performance standard for Yucca Mountain was just as irrational. Just as cherry-picked as all of their work in the past four years.

Yes, it's an agenda, but it goes beyond just the current President. It speaks to an agency determined to impose its vision on the US irrespective of who's in power.

from the video: "they're getting the carbon reductions they wanted". Which tells you something very important about the leftist mentality. It doesn't matter what the will of the public says, they will do what they want, by any means possible.

Just because evil minded bureaucrats want to do something is no reason to let it happen.

The right thing to do is go to war on their fascist asses.

This is some food for thought from "Signals from the brink....."

The EPA was created by Nixon, by executive order!

Mean while the EPA has raised the allowable radiation levels due to the contamination experienced by the Fukashima melt down. US Dairy, Fishing, Beef and produce industry can now routinely market food which was previously considered toxix - that was under BamBam's watch - would Romney or Bush be any different? Damn straight it's an agenda.

The EPA from the very first has been slanted, and disdainful of science, as witness its first head effectively banning DDT against the conclusions of the agency's own scientist's recommendations.

This is not something I would entirely pin on the current Administration, much as I would like to, other than the appointment[s] of yet more activism-trumps-science.

Good link. We have two S.African doctors in our town because they can see the future and it's not pretty. Political correctness and activists in our nation are destroying everything we have taken for granted.

John, yes it was, and immediately showed its true colours with the ban on DDT, resulting in the deaths of millions.

"There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What's there in that for anyone? But just pass the kinds of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced nor objectively interpreted - and you create a nation of lawbreakers - and then you cash in on guilt. Now that's the system, Mr. Rearden, that's the game, and once you understand it, you'll be much easier to deal with."

-Floyd Ferris, character in Ayn Rand's novel, "Atlas Shrugged"

Rand was a prophet, she saw it coming.

Well said. George Orwell saw it coming too. He probably thought he was writing fiction when he published 1984. Or like Rand, he was a prophet. Either way, the future is here now.

The first thing Romney said that he'd do after being elected in November would be to give the OK for the pipeline.

A more important first decision would be to wipe the EPA out of existence and fire everyone who works for it. Allow states to set up their own if need be. This bunch of Eco-Nazis is even more dangerous then Our Dear Leader Obama, at least be can side lined through an election.
