“....One may tune-out, drop out, run away, one could get angry and fight, one could ultimately do what I did, accept the world for what it is, work hard to EXPLOIT the opportunities it represents, and try to do so in as just as manner as possible.......”

Bwaaahhaaaahahahahahahahahah!

Excellence speech. Amazing that he's speaking at UCLA.

I think you pulled out the money quote, Knight.

This guy for potus!!

Could the nose-picking, squirming, scratching, magazine page turning, tassel flicking ass with the beard and the fake 'cool' sunglasses act more bored....or more rude?

You noticed that too hey nemo2 ?

Typical hippie dippie leftists !! It must have taken every ounce of energy in their bodies to not implode!!

Burry, as he does, called it as he sees it. Cynics may scoff at what Burry did, but it was all legal, unlike many of the things done by Goldman Sachs. And to me, the most important thing he said was that, shortly after he wrote a critical article that was published in the WSJ, he was investigated by the IRS and FINRA, to the tune of millions of dollars in legal fees (note: not a single charge was levied against Burry or his firm).

That's the cost of speaking out against the system.

I can't believe I watched the whole thing!

What a fine young man -- and little wonder he got scorched by the government auditors after he questioned the whole economic mess that they aided and abetted.

Of course the "experts" knew what was coming -- it's just that they were making lots of money on the short circuiting of sound economic practices and knew that they'd be insulated from the fallout.

I'm no economist, yet I could see this train coming down the track back in the mid-nineties. 'Good thing I didn't write an op ed in the Globe and Mail...

The love of theory (in this case Keynesian economics) is the root of all evil.

And they're all Keynesians down there, in the central banks and finance ministries.

E-mailing the PMO about 'Fitna' earned me a registered letter from the taxman. ssdd

Not bad for someone with an autism-spectrum disorder.

Given his effective question to the US government organisations: "If I could see it coming, how can you say it was not possible for ANYONE to see it coming", he is being VERY courageous and outspoken. This is a direct challenge to many fine arses in the US administration and Wall Street. In fact, he hints at the answer - they did know but were deliberatley persuing the wrong policy for personal gain.

"Honest, guv. We were just selling the copper pipes in the plumbing system; we had no idea it would cause cholera".

"What a fine young man" is right. Too bad there are not more of them.

Thanks for the link, Kate!

Wow. MUCH food for thought, there.
Excellent address.

He spoke out loud that which most know to be true.

Most impressive were the applause and cheers at the conclusion. You know the end is near when speeches such as that are being heard.

Read "The Big Short" by Michael Lewis. Burry is the hero of the book.

The fact the Obama Administration sicked the IRS and FBI on him after his New York Times April 2010 editorial is disgusting.
