Sterilisation has been mired in controversy for years. Activists say some are told they are going to health camps for operations that will improve their general wellbeing and only discover the truth after going under the knife.
Court documents filed in India earlier this month claim that many victims have been left in pain, with little or no aftercare. Across the country, there have been numerous reports of deaths and of pregnant women suffering miscarriages after being selected for sterilisation without being warned that they would lose their unborn babies.
Yet a working paper published by the UK's Department for International Development in 2010 cited the need to fight climate change as one of the key reasons for pressing ahead with such programmes. The document argued that reducing population numbers would cut greenhouse gases, although it warned that there were "complex human rights and ethical issues" involved in forced population control.

I see the story is from the leftist rag the Observer. The hypocrisy is mind-boggling only if you don't understand what progressives are about.
The progressive proposal to weed out mentally and physically feeble strains from the population in as humane a fashion as possible was their only policy that ever stood more than a communist's chance of getting into heaven of working as advertised. They turned against it only when they figured out that sooner or later the policy would weed out the segment of the population who could be trusted to vote for progressives.
Notice that in the leftist press forced sterilization and abortion is only a problem when someone is doing something to prevent savages with poor impulse control and the IQs of small children from having more litters of pups they can't feed, who have no realistic hope of ever integrating into civilized society, and run the risk of becoming public charges in India---or washing onto British or Canadian shores to become public charges there.
(Had they been actual pups, of course, the left might have understood that there aren't enough good homes for all of them in Britain, canada or anywhere else.)
Of course, if a healthy, sane, intelligent British woman living in Britain or Canada is expecting a healthy, sane, intelligent son who runs the risk of growing up to vote UKIP, Social Credit or Wildrose, the progressives will insist that the woman's human rights include butchering him in the womb. Fun fact: Alberta's sterilization act was passed in 1928 under the United Farmers. Farsighted Social Credit governments kept it with amendments, saving Albertan taxpayers a small fortune on caring for a generation of children of mentally, intellectually and physically unfit mothers.
The PCs, of course, repealed Alberta's sterilization act almost at once after their 1971 victory.

They actively attempt to disarm the public while they confiscate sovereign constitutions. They restructure educational systems and use the MSM as tools for indoctrination. AND they attempt to manipulate world populations via creating crisis, namely through wars, mass immigrations, and eugenics programs.
All nations play a part in this “big new idea” that George Bush Sr. Referred to so often, the resource rich areas of the globe like Alberta are indeed a major prize.
