Remember, record cold periods are just isolated events, no matter how often they occur.

Any record heat event is a trend, and we are all doomed.

This is why there was an attempt at an about-face by renaming their pet boogeyman "Climate Change". That way they could claim that just about any event supported their theories. However, they had been just a bit too successful when they branded their theory "Global Warming" and they can't seem to eradicate it from the public consciousness. Another generation maybe?

Raj, I recommend that for the next edition of the Climate Bible you begin to investigate the role of rising CO2 emissions is having on global cooling and how the practices of mankind are causing AGC. Perhaps we can even create a link between use of fossil fuels and winter, after all it is during winter that people begin to use more heat in their homes. We need to jump on this apparent new climate trend quickly before anyone else claims it.

You can only compare CET's at the end of the month - in Spring & Summer months the temperature usually gets warmer as the month progresses so looking at the first 10 days doesn't tell you what the final temperature will be. Saying that this is the coldest May for 300 years is dangerously misleading journalism.//

If the AGW people can use incomplete data and random samplings which fit the theory - and you believe them - then why can't we believe the verifiable data that we are collecting and translate it to the days and weeks ahead.
