In a landmark ruling, a judge has found oil sands giant Syncrude Canada Ltd. guilty of a pair of environmental charges stemming from the deaths of 1,606 birds two years ago.

In a precedent that has horrified wildlife experts, the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service has authorized the “take” (meaning harassment, displacement or even death) of 10 endangered Peninsular Bighorn sheep — 5 ewes and 5 lambs.
The decision comes after federal wildlife officials were provided photographic evidence that the endangered animals were seen in recent weeks on the site of the just-approved Ocotillo Express wind energy facility—a presence federal officials and the project developer have long denied.

Wildlife killed by Big Oil are helpless victims of our perverse society. Wildlife killed by Big Green are dying for a noble cause. Duh!!

In the name of the environment we can't accidentally kill geese that are hunted in the millions. We can kill endangered sheep on critical habitat and we can kill owls that compete with the spotted owl. We can kill the protected bald eagles that otherwise have a 2 year jail term for killing. Does anyone need further proof that the Greenies are one sick lot.

What Scar said....it's only an issue with oil but come to wind or solar...heh what's a few dead birds or animals.
Somehow I doubt that the Bighorn sheep would be much bothered by the wind project - or vice versa.
