Biofuel is almost as stupid as shoveling 500 million into Solyndra or refusing to admit that the Volt is a failure. The US Navy has a contract to buy Biofuel at $26.67 a gal. because the price is so outrageous that no private entity would ever touch it. But government mandates it must be produced under penalty of law and they do have to use it somewhere.
don't laugh at the USA, it's happening here too.
check out SHell Bronze-Silver-Gold gas pump labels. Bronze got ethanol & 87 octane, Gold is pure petrol & 93 octane.
does not ethanol cost more, less octane?
Will there be anything left in any treasury, in any country, to work with, once the adults wake up and chase the adolescents and thieves out of the political offices, and start making rational decisions? Europe has proved no, the Americans are now governed by Hollywood so good luck there, thankfully Canada is slowly backing away from the edge of stupidity, not quick enough, but at least starting. There will be lawyers working round the clock, bringing charges against these perpetrators of this SCAM, we can only hope.
I have come to the conclusion that ALL bureaucrats EVERYWHERE are lazy incompetents. And everyday there are stories that confirm that.
Raif Mair used to say "We make a big mistake thinking that people "in charge" actually know what they are doing."
I listened to a report yesterday about Japanese Canadians interned in B.C. during WWII. Why? Bereaucrats thought they would support Japan.
There is an inquiry going on right now in BC about 3 worked who died in a mushroom farm accident. Why? Bereaucratic bungling. EU in trouble? Bureaucrats again.
You get a new law or regulation and wonder "where did that come from". Bureaucrats.
We tend to think that politicians are responsible for most of this crap but in effect it is ALL (for the most part) initiated by unelected bereaucrats. For the most part politicians aren't smart enough to think up the crap we see.
Dr. Chris Argyris, Harvard, has written about skilled incompetence. Bureaucrats have developed this to justify their existance and prove we cannot live without their guidance. People in charge do not know what they are doing and much of what they do is in response to events that have happened.
Why this blog? Until this moment
I have been forced
to listen while media
and politicians alike
have told me
"what Canadians think".
In all that time they
never once asked.
This is just the voice
of an ordinary Canadian
yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."
homepage email Kate (goes to a private
mailserver in Europe)
I can't answer or use every
tip, but all are
appreciated!

mandating is so easy, doing, not so much...bunch of idiots that dream up this sort of nonsense
Gee, I wonder if the US Navy will buy biofuel at $26.67 a gallon, will they buy my smart pills at $100 a dozen?
Hey, I know a couple of UN climate science fellows who could fix that graph.

This following on the Natural gas glut and discovery that the US has more accessible oil than Saudi Arabia.
Can we go back to using corn for food please?
Does anybody have a clue on what "unspecified advanced biofuels" are?
Are they so advanced that they don't even know what they are yet? Maybe Kodak has something up their sleeve in NY?
Question:
If corn ethanol is feasible, why have farmers not been growing their own fuel needs the last 100 years?
Answer:
Because it is a net energy loss.
The five year goals of our super intelligent governmental masters are not being met.
In the second Obama administration these capitalist wreckers and imperialist running dogs will be held accountable for their crimes against the state.
All hail our environmentally correct masters!
i want obama to legislate these and hook the pedals to the metal

The Quebec education minister resigned. She not resigned her cabinet post, she quit politics.
This says to me that she was about to be forced into a position that she did not relish ,and left with a finger raised and pointed at Charest.

I'd rather have a natural gas glut than a natural glass gut...
