Things You'll Never See On The CBC

Marc writes - You speak of this bridge plot by Occupy Cleveland members. Are you sure this actually happened? I did a thorough search on the CBC and there seems to be no evidence that is took place.

CBC . . Protecting Canadians from the truth, generating the "correct" narrative and spewing socialist clap-trap and only costing taxpayers $1.3 Billion annually.

Quite the bargain.

The national Film Board and the CBC have been "Boar Nests" (both Canadian taxpayer funded) purveyors of leftist Canadian pap since their inception.

Sort of how the history lessons in our public schools never seem to mention a word about October 1970 and soldiers in the streets with guns.

It's nice to see the Yanks are taking this so seriously. Those sh*theads are faced with two counts that have a max of "life" in prison, and one count that has a max of 20 years.

The Americans aren't big on concurrent sentencing, either.

Perhaps CBC didn't want to frighten children in Quebec.

"I didn't find it in the first place looked so it must not exist."

Does he walk home if he can't remember where he parked his car?

Fred has it so right.

Now on the other hand, if Mayor Rob Ford stops at a KFC or Oda steps outside for a smoke, it is front page news for weeks.

The cbc will only cover this story if our "islamic friends" also get caught doing something similar, like trying to blow up London bridge during the Olympics. Then the occupy scum will be used to deflect attention away from the 'religion of peaceful bombers'.

Noah @ 10:58, I like you. You remind me of when I was young and stupid.

CBC: all the news that fits we print.

Noah - OK, we have a choice. We can either believe that CBC ran no stories about the Cleveland Bridge bombers that mentioned that they we part of the Occupy movement, or that their website is so inept that it can't handle a simple keyword search. So which will you opt for, that they are propagandists (that most of us think should be fired for being propagandists) or that they are inept/incompetent (and therefore should be fired for not giving the consumer value for their money)?

Tangentially related.
I do listen to CBC2 for classical music but usually mute out the cloyingly annoying hosts between selections (thereby missing a lot of music).

Yesterday, two insults to this conservative/libertarian:

(1) This is My Music: Hosted by professional musicians. Lady pianist yesterday with a Polish name featured a piece by a Polish composer who she claimed was the first Prime Minister of independent Poland: Paderweski (he wasn't!). She smugly commented, after the piece, how impossible it was to imagine a politician today, like Bush, or Harper, composing such a piece of serious music.

2) On the news (which I usually mute), the female news-reader, on the subject of the French election, mentioned how fed up the French were with the "poison pill" of austerity. Editorialzing in the news cast! Living within (not below your means) is poison?

You'd think that non Muslims trying to blow something up would be news.

Ken >

"You'd think that non Muslims trying to blow something up would be news."

No kidding, especially white male non Muslims. There must be hissy hell going on in the editing/ censorship bureau of the CBC. I could imagine the psychotic emotional swings and drama would be fit for a UK reality TV series like “Big Brother”.

More objectivity from Canadian journalists, brought to you by the CBC's Nahlah Ayed and the Toronto Star:

Q: When you were attacked covering the bombing of the Khathem shrine, you resisted pressure from your CBC bosses to report on this assault. What prevented you from doing so?

A: I felt very strongly that while what happened to us was extraordinary and painful and upsetting, it was not newsworthy, especially when dozens of people died that day. I had a nosebleed and some serious bruises, and while I could have easily been killed there, I wasn’t, and therefore I did not believe the incident met the bar for what is worthy of reporting. I did not want my story to overshadow the real story, which was the callous killing of Iraqi Shia Muslims on an important day. I am a bit old-fashioned that way, I think such experiences are more appropriate in a blog or on a Twitter feed.

Yeah I'm sure the response would have been the same had she been assaulted at, say, an English Defense League rally.

Ken and Knight 99,these are leftoid 'non-muslims',not to be confused with other 'non-muslims' like say ,a conservative or some heinous group like that.

Just to make sure, I checked cbc.com - nope, couldn't find it there either, but at least that site isn't pretentious.

Obama supports occupy. Therefore anything negative about occupy will not be in the lamestreammedia. They have been burying the link for months already.

But not the new! media.

Kate, this is laugh-out-loud funny. You're going to have to go some to top it for Thread-of-the-Week. At least you have the whole week.

Marc said, "I did a thorough search on the CBC and there seems to be no evidence that is took place."

What d'ya know. I did a thorough search for the last time I watched, read or payed any attention to something called the CBC and there seems to be no evidence that I have ever heard of it since FoxNews and SunNews was ALLOWED onto our TV screens.

Other than being hosed in taxes to pay for the outfit, it is dead to me.

I too did the mandatory search and Crickets!! Sent the leader post by Kate on to Ezra.

It's disgusting that the tax payer funded news office refuses to notify Canadians about Occupy attempts to bomb and destroy a city just south of our border. Seeing as how this kind of garbage spreads, it's almost treasonous to not alert the Canadian people to this enemy within.

Sorta reminds me of a CAGW blog exchange when the enviro-nazi demanded proof then rejected it because it was a link to a "denier site."

CBC?----FIRE THEM ALL.....

Hey, Marc, you idiot.

You just made our point. CBC should not be your go-to place for the news of the day. You'll only read what they want you to read.

Come on down to SDA!

To tell you the truth, the US MSM has so far downplayed or ignored the suspects' connections with the "Occupy movement" as well.

Sort of like those rioting "youth" we keep reading about in France and elsewhere.

Just one example for my post above: NBC Nightly News.

marco @12:30 - "...while I could have easily been killed there, I wasn’t, and therefore I did not believe the incident met the bar for what is worthy of reporting."

Should that imply that if she had been killed, she would have decided the incident was worth reporting on? Aside from certain existential and logistical problems it presents, her approach seems a bit self-involved.

“We have a person facing terrorism charges on the lease of our warehouse,” said one of the leaders. “If this gets into the media, it would be a disaster.”

What a disgrace our national broadcaster is. Not one more thin dime should be going towards these Marxist sycophants.

Another topic that doesn't come up in a search on CBC is anything to do with Solyndra and how the company took half a billion dollars of US tax payer's money and still went bankrupt. CBC is very selective with what it reports and under-reports. Time to stop their funding.

This is not the objective news reporting you are looking for...

Old Jedi mind trick.

Your search "occupy cleveland bridge" did not match any documents.
Suggestions:
Make sure all words are spelled correctly.
Try different keywords.
Try more general keywords.

It seems you forgot to let the dipsh*ts amateurs at
Sun know what you were posting. It is to laugh.

no mention of this on cbc...front page at CANOE (Sun)

Anti-Khadr groups postering in protest

http://cnews.canoe.ca/CNEWS/Canada/2012/05/05/19722876.html

TORONTO — Some Toronto groups are handing out flyers and putting up posters in protest of the Canadian return of terrorist Omar Khadr to serve out a 40-year prison term.

The groups also plan to pay for an anti-Khadr advertisement at the Kennedy Subway Station, near to where they claim the terrorist could be relocated with his family in Scarborough — in east Toronto.

help yourselves...she's got thousands of signatures already, but the more the merrier.

Not sure which search engine you use, phil, but mine turned up two of the Sun papers on the first page.

The CBC will report as soon as the left spins this story into their narrative. Until then it's not news.

Took them a week to report on Jessie Sansone (the father that shoots monsters) and then it was just one story to echo McGuinty saying it was all part of protecting the children.

I remember that during the election someone in the blogosphere reported Ignatieff getting booed at a junior hockey playoff game.
Someone named OriginalEmily kept posting on the Macleans website that he wasn't there.
The story was ignored by the Media Party for a few days before they couldn't ignore it anymore.
Still, it got as much coverage as Layton's rub and tug story.

Not sure which search engine you use, phil

occupy cleveland bridge @
http://www.sunnewsnetwork.ca/, Walter.

Yer back phil...excellent...nuanced stuff this occupy stuff is eh..?...thank Ghia yer here to help us out...

SunTV might not have carried it, but their papers did. So CBC should have had it online at least.

Just wondering what the reaction from the left would have been if SunTV had covered this in a major way. SunTV becomes the story any time they report something like this.

PS. If it had been Tea Party instead of Occupy, "Lie'n" Niel MacDonald would be covering it for 10 minutes on every National for a week. Accompanied by numerous reports and essays on the rest of CBC.

dance dance to the radio:

"TORONTO — Supporters of the Niagara IceDogs and the Mississauga St. Mike's Majors seem to agree on one thing: they're no fans of Michael Ignatieff.

The Liberal leader was booed during Saturday's Ontario Hockey League playoff game between the teams.

Ignatieff was sitting in a box seat at the Hershey Centre in Mississauga, Ont., with the city's mayor, Hazel McCallion, and St. Catharines Mayor Brian McMullen.

During a break in the game, Ignatieff was introduced over the public-address system and his image shown on the big screen.

The crowd booed the Liberal chief as he smiled and waved.

Ignatieff was a good sport and shook hands with hockey fans in the crowd afterwards."
