I'm genuinely confused. Were people outrageously outraged with Derb about the IQ stuff, or were they mad about the whole "avoid certain neighborhoods" thing? 'Cause Derb has been going on about IQ for ever, and it never made the National Review have a fit before; that subject is genuinely debatable and potentially very offensive, absolutely. The "neighborhood" thing? Yeah, be aware that heavily black neighborhoods tend to be a bit dodgy. This is what offends people? I have no patience for the notion at all, because everybody, of every race, operates with that assumption as a given.

Look, I like Jonah Goldberg a lot, but I think he, or someone from the NR, should specify exactly which parts of the article he finds "appalling". If it's the "neighborhood" stuff, walk me, and everyone else in the world, through your objections. If it's the IQ stuff he objects to, I have more sympathy with that, but in that case, why didn't they distance themselves from Derb years ago?

Are you trying to find out if anyone's paying attention or is NRO playing musical authors?

It sounds like some of y'all are not familiar with "Law Enforcement" and Preferred Species in the US. Yes, if the Preferred Species attack a "Law Enforcement" officer or one of their family members, then the victims are entitled to take any steps they feel necessary to protect themselves. On the other hand, if the Preferred Species attack Mere Citizens, the rules are somewhat different. One can expect hate crimes charges from the DoJ, even if your local prosecutor declines.

For the record, I find my colleague John Derbyshire's piece fundamentally indefensible and offensive. I wish he hadn't written it.

Has anyone noticed that politically correct MSM never say which colour of skin or nationality or ethno-diversity when the perps are non-white, but when they are whitey, there is almost always a picture of the accused?

In the shoes of the police I'd have been in no hurry to save them either. If the mob of feral farm dogs had succeeded in killing the two journalists, all Norfolk would have lost is a couple of liberals who've devoted their careers to opposing the rule of law and making the job of law enforcement a lot harder than it has to be. The police and the city would have been well rid of both.

This is why Derbyshire's article was necessary. Only fools need to learn from their mistakes. The wise learn from the mistakes of others.

Lotta points to the Norfolk Pilot story. The most important being that had the victims not been employees/friends of the Pilot you wouldn't be reading it. Or if you did it would be a brief item on the back page with absolutely no mention of the race of the perps.

The stats (hard facts) are rather eye-opening and if I were an IWSB male I would feel rather nervous about the implications and the patience of the non-Afro U.S. population.

The locals where I live routinely change the racial ID of perps from black to white or unidentified to avoid "Problems" Local media aids and abets. Having said that every caution in Derbyshire's column would apply to low class whites. Plenty of places in California where it's dangerous to health and safety and there isn't a black face for miles. And don't get me started on rural Oregon and Washington

I'm just thankful that I don't live in the US, Montreal, or any major Canadian city. What a sick idiotic way to live in these places.
