Re: "God bless the USA"

Thanks, Happy Memorial Day!! From Western Canada with love.

That's OK Plainzdrifter.

If it were not for all those midwestern farm boys and their compatriots throwing themselves at those deadly godforsaken beaches so many years ago, the world would look quite different today.

They deserve our thanks many times over.

A salut to their true grit, and examplary noble spirit.

I was gonna let this pass...but....

"To absent comrades!"

Nothing in life is so exhilarating as to be shot at without result.
Winston Churchill

Very inspiring! Great to hear!

All of the above.

God bless the USA.

They would roll over in their graves if they saw how pussyfied the nation has become. How could they have guessed that the nanny state would null and void the freedoms they fought for.

Yes peterj and they are why our national languages are English and French, rather than German and Japanese or singular Russian. And why we have not seen nuclear destruction on our soil.

Did we get a snow job regarding the firearms registry? POL and PAL fees to return.

Lloyd R. Turbo, Canadian, is in a wee spot of trouble, according to the Winnipeg Free Press comments section. I wonder if Chancellor Bob Silver, also CEO of the Winnipeg Free Press has heard about this?

From the Free Press comments:

The announcement by the U of W in respect of "new" hires is lacking a denominator. By failing to tell the public how many faculty members have retired the administration purposely spins these as additional to the University when there has been an overall net loss of teaching power affecting mainly the Arts. These "new" hires barely replace those very experienced faculty members lost to retirement and it has been done in a manner entirely without academic consultation. The addition of a great many more Senior Executive Advisors to This & That Pork Barrel Project and a doubling of the cadre of Deans and Associate Dean'lings = the end of liberal arts education in Manitoba.

a very good read on the many faces of 'bama....a true liebral...willing to say and do the exact opposite of what he said and did yesterday because he can always change it tomorrow...

As the campaign heats up, one problem is that we continue to meet lots of different Barack Obamas — to such a degree that we don’t know which, if any, is really president....

it would be such a pity to see her just fade away...she needs a public firing and some common sense thrown at her until it sticks...she IS good for a laugh though.

Has Debbie Wasserman Schultz worn out her welcome with Obama?

http://www.examiner.com/article/has-debbie-wasserman-schultz-worn-out-her-welcome#print

...During Obama's trip to Florida, not only was Schultz stripped of her previously held honor of introducing the president before his speeches, he barely acknowledged her presence...

Despite the general elections being six months away, there’s nothing on her website about running for re-election.

More notable, her name doesn’t appear anywhere on the Florida Division of Elections List of Candidates.

According to the Florida Supervisor of Elections, if Schultz doesn’t qualify by petition or pay to get on the ballot by June 8, she won’t be eligible to run for re-election.

The Wasserman link has another site "Obamaattackdog" with De-bore-a in a dog collar.
Pearl necklace would suit her better.

I just hope and pray that after the next election Oblah-blah-blamer isn't the Commander-in-Chief of the United States Armed Forces. It scares the living daylights out of me that he is now.

God bless the United States of America and God bless her Armed Forces! Without a strong America, we're all doomed.

I don't know if it's me,or my TV,or the camera angle, but I think that the new premier of Alberta has dyed her hair.

Yes,she appears to have become a little redder. It looks good on her.

"Migrant workers go on rampage in China after death"

BEIJING — About 1,000 migrant workers went on the rampage in a city in eastern China on Tuesday, smashing up cars and protesting in front of a government building after a worker was apparently killed by his employer, state media said.

The protest began in the morning in Ruian, near Wenzhou in the wealthy province of Zhejiang, the official Xinhua news agency reported.

“Around 1,000 migrant workers rushed the government office building, turning over an iron fence gate, and damaging over a dozen cars with stones and bricks,” Xinhua’s English language report said."

Clint Eastwood's 18-year-old daughter is on the receiving end of vicious public outcry after a photographic stunt with her artist boyfriend Tyler Shields backfired.

Eastwood and Shields - known for his work with video portraits and celebrity photography - decided to publicly demolish a $100,000 crocodile Hermès Birkin bag by setting it on fire before taking a chainsaw to it, all in the name of art.

Poles Demand Obama Apology For "Polish Death Camps" Comment

http://www.buzzfeed.com/rosiegray/obama-polish-death-camps-comment-spurs-polish-ou

The president referred to “Polish death camps” while awarding a posthumous Medal of Freedom to Polish professor Jan Karski, a hero of the anti-Nazi resistance. Poles believe they're blamed unfairly for the Nazi Holocaust, and the Foreign Minister led the outrage in a late night tweet.

The remark, which barely drew notice in America, is all over the Polish news today. On the country's largest television station and on the website of Poland's leading daily, Rzeczpospolita.

Pakistani police arrested a cleric in a remote Pakistani village who reportedly had issued death sentence to four women and two men for dancing during a wedding. Local tribal customs in the village call for men and women to be separated during weddings.

According to the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, at least 943 women and girls were murdered last year after being accused of defaming their family's honor.

I wonder if they thought about this when they built the city ?

My grandfather was a decorated veteran of WW2. He gave up on this country when he was told (@ the age of 83} that he was no longer allowed to smoke in his "own" Legion. He saw that as a major assault on his freedom. He died at age 87 but never stopped mentioning what a bunch of pansies Canadians had become. Everytime a new law came in he would rail against the nanny state. Mandatory seat belts, bicycle helmets, making pointed lawn darts illegal, Allen Rocks gun laws and more. That's the kind of freedoms I was talking about. The freedom to live your life without the nanny state invading every aspect because they can. I'm glad he did not live long enough to see the a person could be sued for hurting someone elses feelings.
