A Nigerian national yesterday was busted for spending nearly the past two decades assuming the identity of a slain Queens man to work an airport security job that gave him access to some of the high-volume airport’s most sensitive areas, authorities said.

The suspect, Peter Abimbola “Bimbo” Olumuyia Oyewole, 55, was arrested and charged with identity theft. He is being held in an Essex County jail, where he awaits arraignment.

He has been masquerading as Jerry Thomas since 1992, when Tomas, himself a career criminal, was killed in a YMCA shooting in Queens. Oyewole, who had arrived in the U.S. illegally three years earlier, told authorities he bought Thomas’ ID from another Nigerian.

According to the Post, Oyewole—who worked for an independent security contractor, not the TSA—nevertheless passed multiple federal, state, and airport background checks in landing and keeping his job. That detail becomes even more puzzling in light of the fact that Jerry Thomas had a long criminal record.

At Newark Liberty, Oyewole supervised 30 security guards and had clearance to go in and out of secure areas, including tarmacs.

[b]This is one of the common tragedies for Muslims[/b]. If, however, does not exempt Muslim residents of this country of the religious responsibility to establish Islamic schools that abide by the regulations of Islam and observe Islamic conduct and try to bring up Muslim youth according to the guidance of Islam, the religion of truth.

9 Can a Muslim woman take off her Hejab in Canada [b]under the pretext that she wants to get rid of discrimination troubles and to prevent being fired from her job and similar excuses?[/b]

No. It is not permissible for a Muslim woman to take off her Hejab for those excuses or similar ones. The Muslim community should seriously endeavour to establish commercial, industrial, medical and educational institutions which would provide good job opportunities for committed Muslim women without being harassed due to their faith.

12 [b]Why it is not permissible for a Muslim woman to marry non-Muslims?[/b] and what is the wisdom behind it?

It was stated that a Muslim man would not hurt his wife who belongs to the people of the book, whether in herself (physically) or in her religion, because he believes in all the prophets and the messengers of Allah and because the ethics of Islam prevent him from mistreating her. Whereas, [b]it is doubtful that a non-Muslim would not hurt his Muslim wife in her beliefs[/b] or in her worships because he does not believe in the message of Islam and because his religion would not deter him from that.
[b]It was also stated that women are generally weaker than men and they are more susceptible to temptation. So if a Muslim woman is married to a non-Muslim man, her husband may lure her away from Islam toward his religion.[/b]
It was also stated that Islam requires that the leadership in the family must be for man and that [b]the law of Islam surpasses all laws.[/b]
My opinion is that fulfilling this Islamic requirement is an act of worship and does not need to be justified on any basis and all the justifications stated above are matters of opinion.

17 What is Islam's judgement of a person who listens to music of different kinds and songs especially the high sounding music [b]and the evil songs that are aired here in the country?[/b]

Basically the recurrence of music is allowed in Islam to listen to. Otherwise Muslims would be prohibited from listening to sounds of birds, the flow of water or the movement of trees by winds, as each has its own music. What is forbidden is to listen to any music or song that is attached to something prohibited or that is used as a means to something prohibited or that which prevented from doing what is a duty.

[b]It is, however, clear that songs in this country with all the high sound music accompanying them and the evil meanings repeated by lustful singers and all that leads to raising the desire for dancing, drinking alcohol and evil deeds all this makes such singing and music prohibited in Islam.[/b]

It is an abject disgrace for the Supreme Court of Canada to refer to the highly-charged concept of "colonialism" in one of its judgments. The court is supposed to refrain from politics; it failed miserably. Sadly, this is not unique.

We should have recall votes for judges every few years, just like we elect representatives. I would however advocate a fairly high threshold for one to succeed.
