After the demonstration, the Fédération professionnelle des journalistes du Québec issued a communiqué denouncing the manner in which journalists were treated by protesters….(describing) the conduct of protesters as "highly reprehensible in a society that depends upon a free press to inform the public without being at the mercy of a group that threatens it when it isn’t happy with the news."

The CBC itself tersely notes that journalists and protesters got into "shoving matches."

The website specifies that it is supervised by the Academy’s founder, Sheikh Younus Kathrada, the same individual that was the subject of a complaint by B’nai Brith Canada in 2004 regarding posted sermons in which he stated that Jews are “descendants of pigs and monkeys” and “the brothers of pigs and swine” as well as calls to jihad. The website states that Sheikh Kathrada is a frequent lecturer in schools and universities throughout the country.

Articles on the website, penned by one “Haytham Sayfaddin”, advise Canadian Muslims to abstain from celebrating Canada Day and commemorating Remembrance Day.

“It is alarming that an individual claiming to be a leader and educator in the Canadian Muslim community would allow the dissemination on his website of calls to abstain from participating in such core Canadian celebrations and commemorations as Canada Day and Remembrance Day,” said Frank Dimant, CEO of B’nai Brith Canada. “Who, we ask, is monitoring what this individual is saying as he enters public educational facilities to teach “understanding of Islam?”

Dimant went on to say, “We call for a thorough investigation by school boards and Ministries of Education, not just of the curriculum material that reaches young Canadian Muslims, but also of the speakers who have access to them, in order to ensure that intolerance and anti-Canadian propaganda are not given a platform. Last week’s revelations at a Toronto-area Islamic school should not be seen as an isolated case but as a signal of a far wider problem.

“However, this is not just a matter for the authorities. We call on the Muslim community to be far more vigilant - as teachers and as parents - about what goes on in the classroom, in the mosque and in the community, to ensure that the message of allegiance to Canada and its values is the one that resonates loud and clear.”

I find that rather ironic since Hollande is a millionaire. I'm fairly certain his nest egg is secure while he drives the rest of the big money out of France. Maybe he's more interested in all the cheap real estate when he's finished destroying the country.

As the resident spoke by telephone Monday, sporadic shots could be heard in the background.

It's official---Greece will have a new round of elections. A last-ditch attempt to force the major parties to support a German puppet government of "technocrats" Italian style failed after Syriza, whose leader Alexis Tsipras is already measuring the drapes for the prime minister's office, refused to acquiesce.

(Of course, Golden Dawn, the only major Greek party whose program makes any semblance of sense, and the only one who could hope to keep the army and police onside when the German money runs out, was not invited to the talks.)

An inquest heard that her GP, Dr Sharad Shripadrao Pandit, accused her parents of "mollycoddling" her.

Alina first contracted TB in 2009 after a girl at her school was diagnosed with the illness.

She was prescribed a course of antibiotics at Birmingham Chest Clinic but medical staff never followed up her treatment.

Alina was struck down again in July 2010 after returning from a trip to Pakistan with her family.

The inquest heard a simple phlegm test would have shown Alina was suffering from TB but this was never carried out.

Instead, doctors shrugged off her family's concerns and told them Alina was suffering from a chest infection despite being classed as a "high risk" patient.
