In tonight's Tips video, a short excerpt from the BBC-distributed documentary Law and Disorder in Johannesburg, British broadcaster Louis Theroux follows pair of ballsy "bad boys", unofficial private policemen who are hired to take back dilapidated high-rise buildings, formerly middle-class condos, from impoverished squatters, many of whom are paying "rent" to members of criminal street gangs who have no legal claim to the property. Later, he encounters a revenge-minded mob in a shantytown on the outskirts of the city who are clearly displeased with the judge-and-jury attitude of another, even less official, private enforcer.
Theroux's purposeful ingénue ruse might be a bit grating to some, but it does afford him access to what would otherwise be off-limit settings. Without further ado, here's a brief look at the corrupt and virtually lawless hell-hole that is modern-day Johannesburg. Strong unpleasantness warning, obviously.

Well sure, but that's with Dicks in.
From a Washington Times editorial titled "Liberal media aid in Obama's 'shiny objects' strategy":
"What issues are most important to voters this presidential election year? If you said the economy, jobs and the budget deficit, congratulations, you are like the rest of America. But if you said gay marriage, birth control and pranks Mitt Romney pulled in high school in 1965, then you either already are, or may have a future in the liberal media…"
[…]
"(The Pew Research Center) presented Americans with a list of 8 issues and asked them to identify which ones were important to their vote. The top three? The economy, jobs and the budget deficit. The least important issue of the 18? Gay marriage.
"If voters decide the 2012 election based on Obama's economic record, he will lose. And so the liberal media, as in love with him as ever, is helping him parade shiny objects to distract voters from that record."
A Globe & Mail poll could use a little help:
"Vote: Do you support provincial long-gun registries?"
Folks, my Friend in High Places told me today that the mail the Fed Gov't receives has been overwhelmingly negative about the pipeline to the coast. The disparity is such that The Mandarins are "stressing out", to use my contact's phrase. Which means that it is so skewed that they're actually paying attention. I feel the irony when I say, "This is bad news".
Friends, we need to balance this. As I understand it, 20 letters a week would match the pace, but would not dent the backlog. So we must do better.
Gird your pens, warriors! A snail mail letter to the PM (or any cabinet minister) is franked, thereby needing no stamp. And trigger fingers to your keyboards too, cowpokes. This is serious.
A socially and economically concerned citizen's gotta do what a socially and economically concerned citizen's gotta do. Mount up and WRITE!
My doctor is from Johannesburg and left because it is no longer safe for whites or anyone that shows a sign of wealth. Some of the highest crime rates in the world. Before Mandela only some blacks were oppressed and now everyone is. Whites are leaving in droves and infrastructure is falling apart. Investment is non existant and the economy has tanked. He states that they used to feel sorry for what was happening in Rhodesia(Zimbabwe) never expecting to suffer the same fate in South Africa. The UN agenda was to drive out those dirty whites and return the country back to it's owners. They succeeded. Rhodesia was the bread basket of Africa. Now with African leadership and knowhow they are simply a basket case and a study in chaos. The activists for freedom in Africa got their wish. Of course they live in other countries and are immune to the fallout. Seems to me that most of the marchers were white. The irony. Unemployment is creeping up to 30% and although it is still the 4th largest economy in Africa it is on a downhill slide. Any day now I expect to see all those white actvists marching with a banner to say they made a mistake and perhaps admit they should have minded their own business. Guess they are all too busy raising hell in Montreal against lower tuition fees for their social justice degrees. I guess success means different things to different people. We here in Northern BC got a damned fine doctor out of it. One that Africa really needed. Keep up the good work all you activists and remember that white anything is evil.
Re: Video by Louis Theroux. Not a good place to retire! Very enlightening.
A friend phoned me tonight, he was in a furor. He's French, he has a quick temper, especially when the greenies over at CBC and Radio-Canada mess up the real story to boost Liberal and Dipper fortunes in the east.
The staff at Regina's Radio-Canada "Telejournal," the 6:00 PM TV news that sometimes does have some pretty good reporting, have messed up. They were doing a report on a recent French study that suggests that there is a link between Parkinson's disease and the use of pesticides. The UCLA had also done a similar research in 2009.
There is no doubt that pesticides may cause health problems. Lets get real, they are designed to kill insects. Like, helloooo, it may be a good idea to wear "protection," if you know what I mean.
Radio-Canada however w2as referring to Glysophate and 2-4-D as "pesticides." ( French term is the same.) Little did our government funded friends realize that they are herbicides. (French term is the same.) No know health hazards have ever been linked to the responsible use of 2-4-D and glysophate. As a matter of fact, one US study on 2-4-D lasted over 20 years!
Conclusion. Some reporters need to go back to school!!
Nice documentary EBD, thanks. Someone told me that they recently witnessed a thief being burned in a stack of gasoline filled tires.. I think it happened close to Johannesburg too.

France’s new Socialist president owns three holiday homes in the glamorous Riviera resort of Cannes, it emerged today.
The 57-year-old who ‘dislikes the rich’ and wants to revolutionise his country with high taxes and an onslaught against bankers is in fact hugely wealthy himself.
His assets were published today in the Official Journal, the gazette which contains verified information about France’s government.
To the undoubted embarrassment to the most left-wing leader in Europe and a man who styles himself as ‘Mr Normal’, they are valued at almost £1million.

thank nelson mandela for that...he called it 'necklacing' and used it as a political tool...got a nobel prize for it too.

There is a significant body of evidence which challenges that opinion.

More let's pretend when black corruption is exposed:

I was stopped on the street last week by a guy handing out literature on Black History. I hadn't intended to stop but in response to his insistence, I turned back and he, sarcastically, said "thank you." I called him on it. I mentioned to him that people who know their history had read his literature and said there were many inaccuracies in these black "history" chronicles. He answered, "Well, maybe you'd like to contribute something to our cause."
I answered "No, I wouldn't." It's probably a good thing I wasn't in my car or he could have got my license number to report me to the OHRC. Babs Hall would not have liked my "dialogue" with this guy.
Because of your colour you're right and I'm wrong, because of your colour you can do anything you want and there are no consequences? All of our standards are sliding, and living in Toronto every day has become a study in declining civility, values, and accuracy in reporting and academe because of the politically correct, "payback," tyranny of low expectations.
North_of_60 I'm a little disappointed in your post. If you're going to say "look it up" then don't provide a link to an activist website. A quick google check did show a statistical link to increased melanoma risk, but no other types at statistically meaningful numbers. A published paper (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1253709/) includes the conclusion: "The first report of an association of glyphosate with NHL was from a case–control study, but the estimate was based on only four exposed cases (Hardell and Eriksson 1999)." In other words, cherry-picking. Like the Yamal super-tree that gives skewed climate history such that we now have to change the world's economy.
You can say what you want about islam, they do look after their woman. I came across this while looking up the answer to what has been bothering me for years,"Is it OK to have sex with your slaves?" It is,but there are so many rules.
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/773937/posts
Anyways,on looking after women;
" her husband will take her to the airport before the plane trip and her father will meet her at the airport when she arrives. Is that permissible for her?.
......Because travel usually causes exhaustion and hardship, and because women are weak and need someone to look after them and stay with them, and things may happen in the absence of her mahram (male chaperone) that she is not able to deal with. These are things that are well known and are frequently seen nowadays because of the large number of accidents involving cars and other means of transportation......
There is nothing wrong with that if it is too difficult for the mahram, such as her husband or father, if the woman has to travel and the mahram cannot accompany her. In that case there is nothing to prevent that on condition that the first mahram takes her to the airport and does not leave her until she boards the plane, and he contacts the country to which she is headed and makes sure that her mahrams there will meet her in the airport, and he tells them the time of arrival and the flight number. That is because cases of necessity have their own rulings. And (W)Allah knows best.

wallyj - I think the main thing here is that the next time you capture a woman in battle or buy one in the market place or shopping mall, you have to make sure she's not pregnant before you get romantic at her. Bear in mind that if you just hire someone - say a secretary, or a neighborhood girl to mow your lawn, or maybe someone to do your taxes - she wouldn't technically be considered a slave and you would have to ask her father's permission before first. The Imam's correspondant seemed a little unclear on this important distinction.

http://thehill.com/homenews/senate/227007-vulnerable-democratic-senators-balk-at-obamas-endorsement-of-gay-marriage
Senate Democrats facing difficult reelections are breaking with President Obama’s endorsement of same-sex marriage, a sign the issue is politically dangerous in battleground states.
Sens. Jon Tester (Mont.) and Claire McCaskill (Mo.), the two most vulnerable Democratic senators, have declined to endorse Obama’s call for the legalization of gay marriage.
Sens. Joe Manchin (W.Va.), Bob Casey (Pa.) and Bill Nelson (Fla.), Democrats who have easier races but in states that could become more competitive by November, have also backed away from Obama’s stance.
They all represent states with constitutional amendments or laws banning same-sex marriage.

Egypt seizes heavy weapons from arms smugglers
http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/M/ML_EGYPT_WEAPONS_SMUGGLING?SITE=AP&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT&CTIME=2012-05-10-11-30-38
CAIRO (AP) -- Egyptian security forces seized near the Libyan border on Thursday dozens of heavy weapons allegedly bound for the Sinai Peninsula to stir up trouble ahead of upcoming presidential elections, a police official said.
Authorities uncovered the munitions - including 40 surface-to-surface missiles, 17 rocket-propelled grenade launchers, mortar rounds, automatic rifles and around 10,000 artillery shells - in three vehicles near the Mediterranean resort city of Marsa Matrouh, some 430 kilometers (270 miles) northwest of Cairo, the official said.
The official said the men claimed they were transporting the weapons to Egypt's Sinai Peninsula to use "against army and police forces securing the borders to create chaos before presidential elections."
The confiscated weapons most likely came from Libya, which has become a key source of illicit arms since the civil war there last year, the official said.
