I agree that if going home and taking her pups with her is at all an option for the widow, that's what she ought to do. If the widow can't go home for some reason, but the grandparents can guarantee the pups a good home, they should do that. Grandma and grandpa miss the children, I'm sure. Most Canadians won't.

(Having received no actual moral instruction---a Muslim upbringing hardly counts---rest assured the widow's pups have little to look forward to in Canada but prison and prostitution. Canadians will be well rid of the obligation of paying to clean up their messes.)

The imam also admits that it's actually quite hard to live or raise a child like a 7th-century Arab savage in 21st-century Alberta, where it's as clear as day that nobody has to live like that, and it's only going to get harder.

Actually the current islamic element of the Balkans are the descendants of the Ottoman Janissaries. These were male children press ganged by the Ottomans, converted to Islam, raised as Moslems to provide the civil service, elite troops and the Sultan's body guard.

The Ottomans were a mixed bag of cruelty and fareness....an Empire run by slaves and ruthless control. The Holy places in the levant were peacefully administered and pilgrims safe-guarded. The Ottomans imposed peaceful co-existance between the Orthodox and the RCs not because they were nice but wanted order.

The Janissaries at retirement age were given land grants in Bosnia and settled there to act as a buffer between the feuding Catholic Croatians and the Orthodox Serbians. This resulted in a genetically homogenius population speaking a common language, eating the same food, drinking the same booze but attending different places of worship.....and a habit of killing any of the other religious factions with no hesitation or remorse.

Sikhs are traditional enemies of moslems...hence the enemy of our enemy..therefore our friends....

Sikhs do not self segregate any differently than Italians, Dutch, Irish, Scots....and are rapidly assimilating.....drinking alcohol and eating pork...at times even 1st generation....

Islam, plus most other societies eventually equals Islam, unless those other societies confine, deport, drive away, or eliminate through apostasy or other means.

Secular Western democracies surrender through gradual accommodation to where Shariah becomes a parallel civil legal entity until demographically dominant. Citizens are powerless to prevent the conversion because they have already surrendered their natural right to discriminate to the state along with too many other adult responsibilities. The state, in liberal Western democracies, only discriminates in favour of minorities, if at all.

Imams are the sole form of "legitimate governance" of humanity raised into, scared into, or otherwise locked into the unreformed mysticism of the Seventh century. Embedded in societies that honor freedom of worship, they are essentially untouchable.

Islam is more like the opportunistic pathogens which kill off the host, stripped of an immune system by a primary virus such as HIV. In the West, the primary virus is the advanced welfare / nanny, politically correct, intrusive, bankrupt, liberal democratic state.

I see only three alternatives to eventual Shariah:

1. A more discriminatory immigration system (although in won't help Calgary or Ottawa where resident demographics are well advanced.)

2. Liberty, where citizens freely discriminate with their private property and where there is no state apparatus to attract Muslims (Not likely in Canada!).

3. A form of ugly statism hostile to Islam and liberty in general ie fascism (watch Europe).

Of course he does. He values his life. Every Muslim knows that no brother turns on Islam and lives to tell about it if the "community" have any say in the matter.

Even if that weren't an issue, Calgary's ballot boxes didn't stuff themselves with Tory ballots last month. The mayor owes his brothers big, and so does Alison Redford. They expect repayment. Don't count on either the city or the province to do anything about this while loyal Albertans still permit them the choice.

Has anyone else noticed that our governments - whether municipal, provincial or federal are now infested with foreigners? Calgary's roads are in chaos because the planners understand only bicycles, donkeys and camels. Winter is a concept they have yet to understand.

ah yes, there is a huge problem with both sikhs and Italians, large numbers of both these demographics do NOT assimilate all that well. Though the sihks tend to be a little more violent in making sure the herd adhears to proper dacorum, seen it with my own eyes. Having said that, they are not as bad as many muslims.

A very well educated post grad degreed couple is raising their kids by linking them daily to hour-long sessions with a madrassa in the old country.

It suggests the question how this country will net a benefit from that.

Can we really say we're surprised, we've been telling the snotty arrogant left that Islam isn't in Canada to be equal to other faiths it's here to expand the caliphate with the left's help of course. It's not a religion, it's a supremacist political doctrine not compatable with democracy.

From a Libertarian and atheist POV, I see very little difference between the imam's proclamations and those of orthodox Jewish rabbis. Both advocate mutilating children and demand total obedience to their laws. Sacrifice, self-deprivation and suffering are the only paths to salvation.

Tribalism is promoted in primitive societies and perverted in modern ones under the guise of multiculturalism.

And these are the nice, peacable, law-abiding ones.

BTW the first mosque in Canada was built in Edmonton, in the 1930s - the al-Rashid mosque, now one of 5 or 6 in the city.

If they like, they can live in any one of the failed Islamic states. That way, they never have to see a filthy infidel unless they are stoning him to death.
