The dollar figures may say we are out of a recession, but the labor figures sure don't.

I've been wondering why the Republican Party does not have that graphic leading some ad campaign?

Of course the MSM has neglected to mention it, can't imagine why.

Well Mr. shuck and jive will teleprompter some spin, sing some Al Green and send shivers up the legs of his legions of useful idiots in the half empty stadiums, force through a massive money bailout of the floundering "O" network, heal the planet stop the rise of the waters, and things will get better.

If there was a new video game entitled "World Domination - Quest for a Job" where players had to actually: graduate with something useful, take on menial jobs and student loans to make ends meet, understand the value of money, avoid trouble like gangs, drugs or teenage pregnancy, get involved in extra-curricular activities, learn how to network, acquire additional skills and hobbies.... Then maybe a good chunk of our young population might get it. That graph is contemporary art of an entitlement generation run amok.

A chorus of all financial papers -no no no no, it's a Re-ses-shun , with an "R" - an "R" not a "D" it was jut a typo.

The real hockey stick as caused by those mendicious grant chasers that invented the AGM hockey stick. Since they tried to fool the governments into banning CO2, I think we should have the government ban marxist climate change provessors.

But Martin, like I told my children all the growing up years, you will go to university and you will take a useful course because you will have the pick of the jobs in whatever you chose as long as your not tatooed and pierced. The scholarships and bursaries that flow in have made things easier, and watching the clueless riot and support this fool have just made the job field for the useful and smart so much larger it is amazing. The Obongo generation is no different than our Turdough generation, useless and stupid, leaving unlimited opportunities for the motivated and smart. The media will always make a hero out of a zero, (witness Obama, the Kardashians Clooney etc)it is up to us to laugh and marginalize the idiots in the media, let them chase the occupiers and NDPEEers breathlessly all day, and help our loved ones to make the right choices.

That is a spike.

Hey Old Country Boy, welcome here. You have a great blog.

The other previous high was in the early 1980s. Some of older types can remember the exorbitant interest rates at the time and the empty houses, failed businesses and farms.

Based on what happened in the early 1980s, I would suspect that all the fallout in the US from this spike are either being ignored by the media for political purposes or the big hits are still coming.

We have all read about the drop in housing prices, but not a lot about the various mom and pop business failures.

need another 20 years of data eh otherwise u have a hockey stick

The average American has gone from 'Hope and Change' in 2008 to 'hoping for spare change' in 2012.

This is just more of "the usual" with the Obama regime. Along with gross incompetence and downright malice in some areas,Obama has dumbed down life in the U.S. to a point no one would have believed possible in that great Country.

BUT, Obama's army of delusional communo-leftists still hold a lot of power and influence, and unless there is a cataclysmic event that proves once and for all Obama is unfit for Office,he'll probably win again in November.

I've shown this graph to some of the kids I work with, none of them had seen it in the local papers.

Coupled with Mitt's letter to the editor, it's a whole lot of "never saw that before" ... ;)

"Dear Mr. President,
Welcome to Ohio. I have a simple question for you: Where are the jobs?"

dmorris, here's Michelle Malkin's take some serious dumbing down by the Obama utopiologists:

This chart is has the wrong y axis and wrong title. It should be titled 'How to make a Democrat' and the y axis should be 'Time on the dole'

Hockey Stick!!!!

No problemo! they'll just join this guy living on Social Security, 5 million(?) already have...

I think it can be best explained by what happens when Obama/last Congress doubled the number of weeks of eligibility for unemployment insurance to 99 weeks. Economics is always about incentives. You pay more for unemployment and you get more of it. While seeking re-election when your world view is that wealth is theft, anything that destroys wealth while buying votes must be a good thing.

This chart is amazing I truly hope and change that Mitt Romney can turn it around. Its going to be a job for SUPER MITT when you have a fifty fifty split on the population where each side thinks the other absolutely certifiably nuts and/or heartless warmongering religious freaks. CCR got it right "I see a bad moon rising. I see trouble on the way".

Two hundred years ago,an early and naive group of Julia's ancestors came to America and greeted the inhabitants with... flowers and eastern mystisism.

They then sat on the shore singing kumbaya, moaning something like "this exploring is too hard!"

The natives then killed and ate them.

It's the hockey stick !

with blacks usually leading the unemployment parade, and if Ozero loses, just think of all the rebuilding work after the riots

When or if, Obozo gets re-elected, That chart is going to look a lot worse.

When Mexican illegals start heading back home to find a job, you know things are bad.

I honestly can't explain why Obozo's popularity in the poss is anywhere near 50% It should be closer to 30%. What have those people been smoking?

Gun sales and gold are at an all-time high... that has to say something.
