Bush would have been defeated 198-0, .......wait now, it is the dems that can make the dead rise to vote, so one has to wonder at the low turn out:-)))))
Is that another of those "Obama firsts" that we've been hearing about? First time a president's budget doesn't get a -single- vote from his own party in the House or the Senate?
I still think he won't get the DemocRat nomination at the convention.
Even the Senate democrats are finally starting to smell the rat we have been smelling for almost 4 years.
You watch them distance themselves from him now in anticipation of their own re-election hopes.
I hope every one of them gets taken down, but it probably won't happen since 50% of our population votes for their entitlements, that only democrats give.
America was a great nation for a long time. We are doing the declining thing just like all the previous powers. All of them collapsed from within, and we are well on our way.
Andrew, I read the article and the article I read said that the democrats "said" it wasn't the obama budget....and the republicans challenged them to put up or shut up...and the democrats shut up
You can't balance a budget if you don't have one....
...no democrat is going to vote for any budget
The democrats do not want anyone to know how bad they've screwed up........
This isn't about the budget at all. It's about democrats refusing to vote for anything they consider will benefit the republican party. It could be the ideal budget designed by God himself and the outcome would be the same.
Think of it this way: Even the representatives from California voted against it. All of them.
I think we should take a moment and enjoy some schadenfreude. We've earned it.
Now that you've enjoyed that moment, let's hope this puts the worry into the muscle known as Obama's heart. He gets worried, he gets desperate, he does more transparently obnoxious things to get elected.
"Democrats disputed that it was actually the president's plan, arguing that the slim amendment didn't actually match Mr. Obama's budget document, which ran thousands of pages. But Republicans said they used all of the president's numbers in the proposal, so it faithfully represented his plan.
Sen. Jeff Sessions, Alabama Republican, even challenged Democrats to point out any errors in the numbers and he would correct them — a challenge no Democrats took up."
Andrew: "It's about democrats refusing to vote for anything they consider will benefit the republican party."
Not a great strategy. By Democrats refusing to vote, Republicans benefit from messaging this 2 ways: 1) Senate Democrats have not voted / passed a budget in over 3 years and 2) Obama's budget is so bad that even Democrats can't support it.
Fodder for both Senate and Presidential election campaigns.
This must put a real fear into those Democrat free loaders that are living on Obama's entitlements... If he is re-elected the House (Way & Means) will freeze all spending & roll over everything. It will be 4 more years of hell stuck on stupid...
The only chance for the free loaders is a Republican win and then the usual "we are good guys" will continue the existing system until the economy recovers.
Why this blog? Until this moment
I have been forced

have told me
"what Canadians think".
In all that time they
never once asked.
This is just the voice
of an ordinary Canadian

Finally, bipartisanship returns to the Senate.

A pretty decisive repudiation of the "Obama-Nation(tm)".
It appears the US has finally rejected the notion of the Weimar States of America or WSA...

Good news for America at last I say.
Looks like even the Dem house caucus has abandoned the commie train wreck from Chicago which has siezed the White House and cabinet.
Even the Senate democrats are finally starting to smell the rat we have been smelling for almost 4 years.

Keep your powder dry.
If you read the article, they rejected it because the republicans slightly altered the budget, then submitted it themselves.
The whole thing is nothing more than petty, meaningless political posturing from both sides.
The whole system is fcked.
Racist ever one of them, where's Sharpton when you need him?

It's the circle of life.... for Obama.
Consensus, at last!
Hey, in some other jurisdiction, wouldn't this be considered a vote of non-confidence?
Exact quote from the article:
"Democrats disputed that it was actually the president's plan, arguing that the slim amendment didn't actually match Mr. Obama's budget document, which ran thousands of pages. But Republicans said they used all of the president's numbers in the proposal, so it faithfully represented his plan.

Same deal in the house I believe. Zero votes for the Obama budget.

They all have to vote Republican
