Lawyers take to the streets with students for Montreal’s 35th consecutive night of protest

Professional unions are supporting the Quebec students, perhaps to help bring in a more union-favourable provincial government less eager to investigate union corruption.

Making both the students and the lawyers the tools of gangsters.

Bienvenue a Quebec.

The crooked leading the stupid...what could go wrong?

First, the election.

Then, cut off transfer payments.

Ambulance chasers. Perfect venue to hand out business cards to potential clients. lol

"Lawyers dressed in their courtroom gowns paraded in silence from the city’s main courthouse through the streets of Old Montreal to join the nightly march."

What are the rules here? Are they allowed to display these 'official' props outside the area of intended usage?

They never explained what Bill 78 was in the article. It looks like what passes for journalism here in the States is infecting our neighbor, too.

Why the Charest government felt the need to pass a new law against protests is beyond me.

When garbage men go on strike, the trash piles up. When postal workers go on strike, the mail stops being delivered. What in God's name is the concern over a few students "striking"?

Charest was winning until this dumb move. He should repeal this law, and enforce the existing laws.

Bah. Cut transfer payments and see what happens. Enough is enough.
It is kind of cute though. We have our own little Greece.

They could round out their public support drive by adding pedophiles and jihadis to the protest.

I am so tired of these children, having been raised by one entitled generation, naturally assuming they, too are entitled. Well, I'm tired of them assuming they can continue their lifestyle on somebody else's money. You want something? EARN IT! And M. Charest, it's time you grew a pair.I

First we will hang all the lawyers......

Henry IV
William Shakespeare

A number of the first Bolsheviks were also lawyers.

Charest should never have passed anything new to deal with the so-called students. He should have used existing laws to address the problem. But this is typical of cowardly socialists. Pass more laws and then don't enforce them. Makes it look like they are actually doing something. Same with the protestors. March, vandalize, and intimidate and feel like you are doing something. They are actually doing nothing for themselves and actually helping corrupt unions.

I was asked about this situation on Google+ Saturday, here is my reply-

My take on this is that this is a bunch of mindless students and others that have drunk the Koolaid. You have to remember that our teachers and professors are even more marxist than the typical American ones. Add our disloyal opposition, the NDP under Thomas Mulcair, and what you have is all the government unions, run by terrorist loving fascists, quietly pulling the strings with the students as cannon fodder.

You have to go back to our recent federal election, where we finally overcame the years of nanny-statism, and elected a majority, (almost), Conservative government, effectively wiped out the Liberal Party, and through one of those occasional voter backlashes, ended up with a communist opposition. Most of the NDP strength, and a majority of their seats, are in Quebec. Most of these were accidental, as it was a 'vote against the incumbent' election, and the protest vote elected a rare bunch of MP's, including a young single mother barkeep, in a French speaking riding, who can't speak French, and spent the entire campaign in Vegas on holiday. I actually think she's one of the better ones too!

Back to what is playing out, Mulcair knows he's riding an anomally, and there isn't a hope in Hell that he can pull off again what his predecessor Layton did in Quebec. These power mad people realize the only way they can stay in the trough is to destabilize Charet's Liberal Government, get the Provincial NDP or the ADQ elected, then take over whichever party wins, hopefully before they themselves lose their seats in the next Federal Election.

Ian vaughan : There is no provincial NDP and the ADQ no longer exists. There is however the far-left socialist Québec Solidaire.

What good or service is being with held by the striking students?

What good or service is being with held by the striking students?

No affirmative action going on in that group.

These stinking unions must be stopped, they are behind all this stupidity along with the students who are displaying, for all the world to see, that they NEED to stay in school, they are the dullards/useful idiots, they are not demonstrating anything but the end result of a welfare society being paid for by Alberta and the rest of Canada, biting the hand that feeds it. What an embarrassment Quebec is to Canada.

Nothing to see here folks, move along. Let them strike all they want. Bust up one piece of property and of to court you go, bunch of french cry babies.

Lawyers AND Leftists rioting in Montreal? Cops standing by with hands in pockets as shops get trashed?

This just keeps getting better and better. Its almost as awesome as watching an Al Queerda bomber blow up himself and three of his friends with an IED.

Where's our friend Quebec NDPiste? I wanna cheer him on. Hey buddy! Go break a window for me, and after it all calms down maybe enough people in Montreal with money will have been mugged by you a$$h0les that we'll have a Conservative Party uprising in PQ.
