"Fine for them, but where do we go?"

Let's hope they don't all come to Canada and try to lead the NDP!

sadly the leason that should be learned from this will go right over the lefties heads

In order for it to be a lesson, lefties would need to believe that economic growth is desirable. It's not like they ignore the deluge of daily concrete economic evidence, it's irrelevant to their worldview.

Kate, I agree with the suggestion as where to park their money. Just leave their tricolour behind.

My honest opinion is the Harper government is banking on it.
The first Nations that get rid of big Tax with Government entanglements will profit mightily.

Paraguay? Lots of Germans, Dutch, and Americans got into ranching there.

It's honestly an opportunity for Quebec.

A golden one. "Come to beautiful Quebec, where we speak FRENCH!!! Bring your money, our Canadian dollar is strong!"

A golden opportunity which they will move heaven and earth to -miss-. I can hear the gears clashing as the bureaucrats rain le sabot down on the machines and contest with each other to see who can cross-thread fittings the fastest.

I know we think of Quebec as full socialist, but I recall an article once in which French entrepreneurs were moving to Montreal because the barrier to business was so low.

They couldn't believe that they could simply rent a shop and fill out some forms and then start their own businesses. In France everything was regulated and legislated into pointlessness.

If Canada could receive a few boat loads of French youth trying to escape socialism and a few millionaires protecting their net worth then I say we should just do an open lobby for them.

(Problem is we'd probably be flooded with the low end Muslim angry crowd if we were too public about the welcome mat......I'm sure the smart French will know how to get here.)

But Kate, who'd want to go to a place where the poobahs in charge would shut down the Riviera?
