Is it just my imagination or did the word "then" used to imply something related to time, instead of being constantly improperly substituted for the word "than?"
Don't tell me that they serve Spam sandwiches fresh out of Hormel's plant in Austin, Minnesota.
Actually, that plant was closed a cpuple of years ago because of strikes. Moved to Debuque, Iowa.
I've no problem with kids getting fed at city parks, as long as they earn it by cleaning up the park and nearby city streets. (Unionized city workers reading this are now feeling faint.)
Now if we only could teach them how to fill in potholes.
Has it donned on no-one? Why are parks looking after kids and why are parks feeding kids? And why aren't they feeding them liver and broccoli with water to drink?
“The kids eat a lot of junk already, and they get it at home,” said Nakisha Tyus, a mother of two. “If kids can get a better meal at the park, who better to give it to them then the city.”
Excuse my language, but W! T! F!
They need the state to feed the kids healthy meals because the PARENTS will not? Can not? Are too stupid to do the right thing?
Most importantly they insure the government has full control over the “youth” of the nation, from cradle to grave. They never wanted these kids looked after by their parents anymore than Finnegan of Oliver Twist fame wanted parents involved in the lives of his little gang of thieves.
Hitler, Stalin, Mao all knew and practiced this very well.
1. Get both parents into the workforce to “contribute to society”. Instigate family breakups.
2. Insure the kids are protected and raised by the state.
3. Insure the kids receive indoctrination towards the values of the state and to loath their parent’s values.
4. Offer free handouts with plenty of access to violence, pornography, and drugs to corrupt the moral compass of society including hard work and empathy.
You have now built a thuggish army of entitled dullards willing to pimp out/ sell out their entire family to the sugar daddy in power.
Stealing Candy from babies/ This is how Nanny stater's take over inch by Inch. Each law more ludicrous than the last. All for the lone whiners who can't take 5 minutes of their day being assaulted as they see it.
B.C. town silences its ice cream trucks with ban on mobile ‘noise’
It didn’t come without debate. At least one councillor reportedly feared the music lures children into running in front of traffic; another councillor feared for the district’s image if it bans ice-cream truck music.
@dmorris - agree completely. Whole language learning destroyed the English language. Nothing as cerebral as sentence structure and spelling is taught anymore. If spell-checker doesn't catch it, the error makes it to print.
The article means nothing to me when a 'journalist' can't put a sentence together without sounding like a moron.
That is 331 kids per day (based on a five day delivery)52 weeks a year. if some of those families have more than one child that is getting to be a very small select group of people. Talk about a make work project for city empoyees.

D'you know who I blame for this? That hefty too-high-belt-wearing junkfood-chomper married to Barack, that's who.
I have no problem with whole wheat bread or juice. Nor do I have a problem with a bit of candy ("No child left behind without Easter candy!" I say). What I would like to know is why the parents cannot or should not provide food (preferably healthy food) to the kids. Living off the largesse is not viable morally or economically.
When the Parks and Recreation board is the largest child care provider in the state, then something has certainly derailed. I always had the impression that the parents had that role, but that shows I'm still stuck in 20th century thinking. Hard to keep up with this "new improved" nanny state planning. So many different departments all jockeying for position, and all with the battle cry..."think of the children", which is code for "don't cut our funding."
Why this blog? Until this moment
I have been forced
to listen while media
and politicians alike
have told me
"what Canadians think".
In all that time they
never once asked.
This is just the voice
of an ordinary Canadian
yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."
homepage email Kate (goes to a private
mailserver in Europe)
I can't answer or use every
tip, but all are
appreciated!

Holy hell, woman. When you
send someone traffic,
you send someone TRAFFIC.

It was gratifying to see,at the link, all seven comments basically said the government should stay out of people's business.

Well Hillary Clinton did say
"It takes a village to raise a child".
Too bad it's a village of idiots!
Want to train an animal to come to you?...make yourself its main supplier of food.
Want to train the masses to come to you?... raise them to your hand(outs) from an early age.
Mankind/beast?...the major difference is ability to reason.
Want to lose your edge?...let someone else do your reasoning for you.
........first they came for the happy meals

Oh for the love of God, what the heck are "food opportunities" and when did that little nugget of Newspeak make its debut?
Obamba's entitled army of "youth" get free food, while anyone else get's charged for feeding the homeless.
Google.
"Is it just my imagination or did the word "then" used to imply something related to time"
OW, I could scream every time I see the use of "then" for "than " and vice versa!
"then"-adj.,"at that time", "next in time or place" Example:"Will prices THEN be higher"?
Than: conj."in comparison with.." Example:"This train is faster THAN that train.

Just my quick thoughts.
Black Mamba, what is wrong with high belts?
Oh yeah....
