I sent a complaint to Elections Alberta on March 9. The PC cabinet awarded billion dollar powerline construction contracts to 2 companies. There was no bidding, no tenders just a sweetheart backroom deal. The energy minister said that there was no time for bids but NEXT TIME it would be an open competition. The 2 companies that got the deals have now donated around $50,000 each to the PC party. One company is headquartered in Montreal is being investigated by the RCMP for $56 million in missing funds. Elections Alberta notified me they are too busy to investigate.

That makes it sound like Redford initiated the law but I'm sure I heard her say (during the debate maybe) that this law was passed at the request of Elections Alberta.

I don't know which is worse - that she passed it so that we couldn't find out who was shoveling money to whom or her admission that unelected and unaccountable bureaucrats are really in charge.

With regard to the 70+ improper donations Albertans are not allowed to know the results of the investigation. Now premier Redfrod, while justice minister changed the elections act to ensure the results of all investigations are kept secret unless criminal charges are laid. Regarding the 70+ investigations the Chief Electoral Officer, appointed by the Premier, chose to impose administrative penalties rather than criminal charges. Unlike Get Smart, this cone of silence actually works.

This column by Corbella stands in stark contrast to nearly all the other media coverage which continues to pound away with the claim that Wildrose are all racists, bigots and climate deniers. Keeping Danielle Smith constantly fighting that fire instead of advancing Wildrose's positive message will probably keep the PC's from being thrashed on Monday.

Hoping that a majority of voters see through the curtain the media at large has set up to hide the PC's many, many actual sins.

Can't trust that Corbella dame. Rumour has it she is one of them... how would you say it.. oh yeah, honest journalists that are indeed rare.

Years ago ,before this internet thing became popular,Licia Corbella wrote an article published in the Calgary Sun about a meeting that she attended on the Tsuu T'ina reserve just outside Calgary. I can't find it ,but I do remember it.

Her article basically expressed her shock at the overt racism towards whites and Asians that were expressed throughout the meeting.

Ms. Corbella does write some very good articles that are not acceptable to the politically correct crowd.

As I sit here and go over this election from what will be known as the Gettysburg crossroads of this election, better known Edmonton South Lisa's article sums up why we became so important.

I mean really a Pastor says something about gays and hell and this is news. Plus you can only be upset about this if you believe in hell. Other wise it is kind of stupid to get upset about someone going somewhere that is not real.

So whats the point?

Like Gettysburg an unplanned event which became historic. Edmonton South was supposed to be a drive by smearing by the PC party with the Wildrose panicking and pulling their candidate.

But and this is a big but the Wildrose did not blink. So for the last week we have had to listen to everyone go on and on like little kids. You know "mom she called me a turd." "Yea well those pants make you look fat."

Which brings us back to Lisa's article . This hit job and that is what it is, was well planned out to distract everyone from the fact the PC Party is not only intellectually bankrupt it is very close to criminal.

Ask yourself seriously what is more important that someone has religious beliefs that seem strange to you or someone writes a 100,000,000.00 dollar check as bribe money. Before anyone comes back with people with religious beliefs should not hold offiec. I will just point out that the athiest religion has caused the most damage to humanity over the last hundered years.

What happen here this week is nothing short of an exorcism , I know it is a religious term but when people around you start spewing pea soup the shoe fits. What caused all this silly walks was for once someone did not blink and stood up for someones personal beliefs. In doing so they aslo stood up for everyone.

This created much stress causing our leader to claim she was frightened so much that you have to wonder if she really knows what that word means.

If this post sounds like I am making fun of people I am but I am also pissed off. This is and always has been a Edmonton South issue which the citizens of Edmonton South will deal with one way or another on April 23. We do not need you coming around writing your name on the signs. I did not know their were so many people called bigot in our area.

This election may very well come down to who gets their vote out.

I doubt if I could be convinced to change my vote by a blog that I stumbled upon.
Albertans that want a change must not only vote themselves,but must convince others to recognize the need. Talk it up at the workplace,take someone to the poll.

I have no idea what Allan Hunsperger actually said on his blog and what's more I am not about to find out. I don't care. However what bothers me is the leftists and leftist media feeding frenzy over what Allan Hunsperger supposedly said.

Let me start out by saying that I am a Christian. I hold the Bible in high regard in telling the truth and pointing the way. In saying that I believe "Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders" to be true. The real question that remains outstanding is, What is the Kingdom of Heaven. Is the Kingdom of Heaven your eternal reward and the lack of attaining it your eternal damnation or is the Kingdom of Heaven something entirely different? Jesus said "
nor will people say, 'Here it is,' or 'There it is,' because the kingdom of God is within you." What does that mean? I believe that attaining the Kingdom of Heaven is a personal spiritual quest that through faith and Grace one attains over time.

The Bible through its Author's infinite wisdom tells us that if you want to attain the Kingdom of Heaven you can not engage in the lusts of the flesh like homosexuals. Just like you can't steal, murder, seek false gods etc. This statement is not hatred toward homosexuals or idolators or thieves or murderers. It is a word to those who would seek the Kingdom of Heaven.

The PCs always were crooks. In rural Northern Alberta 30 or more years ago Peter Trynchy and Hugh Horner were constantly getting caught on silly things but nothing changed. Still hasn't changed.

Well Knight 99 since you are trying to shout down my belief system far more than I, I would simply ask,"Now what was that law 'bout the loser of the debate being the first to invoke Nazis?"

The one statement/soundbite that would have locked up this election for WRA is this:

"If you are the government of Alberta, and oil is at $100 per barrel, and you can't balance the budget, then by definition you are incompetent."

This should have been stated by Smith in the debate, and repeated constantly until every Albertan was hearing it in their sleep.

If you take a deep breath and re-read my first comment without blinders on, you would realize that it was simply constructive criticism. i.e. a friendly piece of advice so that you can get your point out in a way that more people would actually take the time to listen to what you had to say.

BTW I voted today. I live in a small rural community north of Calgary. The ballot box was nearly full and the polling station officer said it was the second such ballot box. She was predicting upwards of a 70% turnout. High voter turnout is always a sign of a restless electorate.
The winds of change are blowing and the lame stream media can do nothing to stop it.

Oh, it's going to be a Monday to remember! Having been born in Calgary (a forty-niner) makes me understand why I am like I am.

Licia Corbella is one of a minority of real journalists. She always has something objective and intelligent to write.

Explaining that the Christian view of homosexuality is not some sort of hate crime is a point that I view as being important to bring to the fore. Christianity simply points out that if you want to catch fish don't cast your line on dry sand. Not saying you can't cast your line where ever you want to cast your line so long as you are not hurting someone else. Not even trying to force you into catching fish BUT IF YOU are casting your line on dry sand, you are precluding yourself from catching fish. Your choice. Simple concept isn't it.

Not at all, most people run away from Christianity because of people like you, and the garbage you try to shove down their throats through fear.
