REDford Sucks!
She reminds me of Julia Gillard (not a compliment).
That picture of the hectoring hag has to be a photoshop. She never smiles.
The Progressives are hurtin bad! Watch now as they call for their fellow Progressives to vote strategically against real conservatives.
You'd think that with 6 days to go, they'd come up with something...
Did anyone see the front page @ the Calgary Sun today, smiling Ralph and Colleen Klein talking about her Wildrose membership.
... perfect timing for this.
This isn't your father's PC party...they're all hip with using Social Media.
Um.....No.
Well, look at the bright side for the PC's. Amanda Wilkie just might have been writing this blog.
Not posting anything is the smartest thing the Redford campaign team has done.
Did anyone see the recent picture in the Calgary Herald with Alison Redford wearing a hijab and praying in the Sikh temple?
Hint to Alison: It's not about race or the religion you freaken bimbo sellout.
Someone else posted this apt descriptive name for the incumbent AB premier earlier, but I don't recall who it was. Credit herewith to whoever came up with this:
Allison REDfraud.
Accurate and concise, the name is a keeper.
The premier hopefully not so much.
I happen to know that Wildrose will get all the eight votes of my brother, his wife, their three children and their spouses, as well as the six votes of my step-brother, his wife, two sons and their spouses in this election.
Good for colleen Klein.
Knight 99, I am not surprised.
These people took the most conservative province in Canada and turned it into a big socialist mess.
If we take away REVENUE and only look at provincial SPENDING it is evident that the freaking Quebec government!!!! is MORE CONSERVATIVE than the Alberta Progressive Conservatives.
An Albertan "conservative" government that spends more than the Quebec liberal one????
How is it possible that the Alberta government spends MORE than Quebec when Quebec has significantly MORE social programs????
You know you've hit rock bottom when you are spending more the Quebec Liberals, you know, the socialists who spend on things like 7-dollar-a-day daycare and 1800-dollar-a-semester student tuition.
Alberta doesn't have these entitlement programs but Alison Redford and her Progressive Conservative Party SPEND MORE. And what does she have to show for it? Only empty Kool aid packets.
it's the 'Beer Poll', who would u rather have a beer with ?
I remember well the night Alta turfed the SCreds...
Been a pc supporter till now
A. RedTory is going to preside over just such a night I hope...
(love the " RedFraud" handle :-)
Hey, don;y scratch her off the list yet. I hear that 'Tiger' Tim Hudak is going to lend her a hand!
When you don't have anything to say, say it with a grimace..er, smile!
Ya leave for a few years and THIS happens!
Albertans have fallen a long ways since the days of Peter Lougheed.
Didn't Peter Lougheed want to pave every side road in the province before the NEP tanked the province? The present premier wants to pave every teacher's driveway... with gold.
I miss Ralph.
interesting that the PCs claim referendums can be controlled by special interest groups when it is well known in ever circle except the MSM that the teachers union told everyone to join the PC party and vote for Alison Redfraud. So Ms. Almost Also Ran on the first ballot moved to the top
Don't hold up Patro Lougheed as any kind of shining example. The difference between the hectoring hag and Patro was that Albertans remembered the pristine legacy of Ernest Manning and should Patro stray too far from that he would have been turfed in a second. Patro's real colours show in the constitution, charter and the fact that he agreed to and with PET on the NEP. The biggest mistake Albertans ever made was electing the PCs. With the exception of King Ralf the PCs have had one disastrous premier after another. NEP Patro, Deficit Don, Special Ed and now Red Ali. PCs not gone soon enough!
The PCs would have gone down in the spend-crazy scandal plagued Getty regime if it weren't for the fact there was no alternative to park a vote and Ralph came along to pay down the debt and st the government back on course.
Anyone of any consequense has left the PCs now leaving the red guard in charge and by making Redford leader, made an open statement that the party was now defacto liberal-left.
I can't see anone but the corporate and agri welfare crew voting PC.
Occam; there are a lot of good people on both sides, and there are some that need turfing, but voting on the advice of the media that is so horny for change is a short-sighted ploy. This is a great province, there needs to be some tweaking, but to follow advice from media people, the worst future predicters, will only lead to disaster, just think, and picture some of these WR people as ministers in a cabinet, as the SCTV skit said "scarrry kids". Cooler heads need to prevail and good people on both sides need to be supported for what they stand for, and not for who the media that brought us" globull warming" H1N1 etc has fallen for.
"I can't see anone but the corporate and agri welfare crew voting PC.

And don't forget the "public" servants who have direct gubermint jobs. I had a chat with one the other day.She still thinks all the WRP are Ralph hang-ons,but I was really stunned when she said that REDfraud would introduce a plan to lower taxes during bad times, and raise them during good times, as that was the way to keep the economy going. After sitting there stunned for a bit,I asked for her definition of a good and bad time, and where the he11 did she "learn" her economics? Never did get an answer. We are sooooooo fubared if the RED tories get even a sniff of running this province any longer.
Bartinsky,
Huh, you think the media have "fallen for" Wildrose. And here I thought Danielle Smith and Wildrose were the victims of the most tightly coordinated media smear campaign seen in Alberta politics since the Thirties.
I can picture some of the Wildrose candidates in cabinet too. I can also picture the faces of scumbags from back east being told by Wildrose cabinet ministers where they can go with their demands for tribute.
The good people in the PC caucus (I suppose there may be a few misguided souls left) will find their way to Wildrose or find other ways to do God's work. The demise of a political party is rarely as dramatic an event as the destruction of Sodom. There's no need to keep the PCs around on account of ten virtuous men.
Knight- Watching Redford wearing that rag on her head absolutely sickened me. I don't really care whether it's a Sikh rag or a Muslim rag. Both movements are anti-west, both use intimidation to get their way, and both are guilty of acts of extreme terrorism. Allowing a Sikh to participate in the political process will have disastrous results. Through acts of intimidation, murder, and political maneuvering, they now have their man sitting in the Indian PM office.
The liberal media party needs to be held accountable, they're actually not even hiding their campaigning for the Repressive Alberta conservatives from Ontario. Why is it ethical for liberal media to fabricate stories whilst pretending it's news? I am sickened by liberal media.
@ bartinsky @ 9:36, I respectfully disagree. There no doubt are good people in both parties, but the good people in the PC Party are a minority and adrift in a party that has gone almost totally over to the Liberal/NDP ideology. A drift that began with Peter Lougheed.
As far as some of the WR people being ministers in a new government, you have to remember that many of the first ministers in PM Harper's first governments were in experienced rookies as well.
P@ bartinsky
Right, the scary ministers on our side want to pass legislation that allows me to recall them. The other side has the scariest minister of all as leader. Nice try pc plant.
Dick Slater @ 9:52am;
You mentioned misguided PCers who would migrate to WR. The interesting question becomes how a political party protects itself from infilitration by influence peddlers and corrupters. IMHO the PCs signed their own fate when they opened their party to 5 minute conservatives in their leadership process. Yes a progressive move as the left signed up with smiles.
Reform experienced this same process. I always thought a strong consitutuency org was the answer. The riding we organized had a few carpetbaggers drop in for a run at the nomination but members saw through their game very quickly. I have refused to contribute to the CPC party until the $2 per vote tribute was recinded. That money allows political parties to by-pass constituency orgs and run candidates of their chosing. How can any philosophical base be built other than through riding orgs.
Danielle Smith's defence of WR freedom of speech rang so true as she defended herself against the CBC smear attempt. CPC quickly did away with that in their riding orgs a few years back.
Well said, Ford Prefect.
Want to talk sbout a couple of scary ministers who were in Ralph Klein's cabinet or caucas, bartinsky ?
Alison Redford and Red Ed are their names, the twisted system that the PCs had set up was designed to allow their ilk to rise to the reigns of power in a Top Down party.
You are burning any cred you had as being a conservative, bartinsky.
You'll be known as a progressive henceforth.
Nurse Redford's political advert - "Alberta by Design" says it all - Top down all the way.
She believes that she's been imbued with special knowledge and power by virtue of her Harvard MBA and UN experience. Her rhetoric is a perfect setup for the game of "Buzzword Bingo"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buzzword_bingo
When the likes of Redfraud and Red Ed are in positions of power, they use the adage of listening to the people (also known as democracy) and move in the direction of the liberal left.
Right side politics are governed from a position of principle while the left are always doing what is "popular" and that is formed by the "education system" (include media in this category) which is run by commies and socialists intent on moving the entire society to the collective left and feel good policies.
I find the dualistic thought process of "fiscal conservative - liberal social" is the sure sign of a Liberal in PC drag.
Red Ali is in Drag.
re your update. There they go, mocking Albertans and their oil again.
Wow. Waiting for "Rednecks on Alberta streets, In Alberta. Wildrose Rednecks. Cowboys. Wildrose Redneck Cowboys Drilling Oil on Alberta Streets. We did not make this up."
wow.. Took me awhile to realize that video really wasn't meant to be satirical.
@oz
Thanks. I believe from a previous post you are in aidri. How is it going.
I am in the infamous south edmonton riding. The way Ms Smith is handling this is a breath of fresh air she is letting the people of South Edmonton decide. She could have thrown the white christian under the bus but instead we get to decide. Novel idea but their you are. You would not know we are in the middle of anything here no signs wrecked ext. We will see Tuesday.
The pc smell so bad right if she would have kicked Allen out I would have voted dipper at least they are honest about taking your rights away.
Ever forward.
Youtube has a thumbs down feature.
That ad is SO pathetic!
My favourite moment is the snarky young woman says," Danielle Smith believes "The Flintstones" was historically accurate", and the young man chimes in,"which it isn't"!
But,young fellow, you had to say that didn't you, lest it confuse young PC voters.
Shades of Kinsella and Barney the Dinosaur.
Unlike the dinosaurs, the PC's DESERVE extinction.
Should read Monday.
Smells so bad right now.
the dualistic thought process of "fiscal conservative - liberal social"
That's not really a dualistic thought process so much as a consistent respect for freedom.
So-cons want to meddle in other people's bedrooms and so called fiscal "liberals" want to meddle in other people's pocketbooks. Contrary to anyone who believes any of those things opinions, neither of those is actually more virtuous than the other.
The PC's have gone FULL LIBERAL.
Why going FULL LIBERAL is a good idea, remains to be seen. The smarter tactic would be to go moderate conservative and woo back the Ralph voters who are now fully gone.
Instead they seem intent on wrangling the twitter kids and hipsters because apparently the PC party is a party for twitter hipsters now.
No doubt this is the influence of campaign manager Stephen Carter. He ran Nenshi's mayoral campaign. A campaign that smart people thought was genius because of innovative social media and wrangling the youth vote.
The problem is that Nenshi won due to a massive conservative vote spilt, the Muslim community rallying for him and gays/liberals wanting to support the most gay/liberal candidate.
None of these three attributes will serve Redford as there is no conservative vote split. All conservatives are going Wildrose. The muslim/ethnic community isn't excited about Redford. Gay/liberal votes might add a few percentage points to the PC's, but there's enough real left-wing choices and PC disgust that the votes will go elsewhere.
Oh yeah, a new poll showing a Wildrose majority.
Leger, Edmonton Journal.
bart, if we were to follow the MSM we would march past that POS TURDoh's crypt to worship and revere on a daily basis!
WILDROSE for the WIN.
Ahh! I see we've progressed to fear mongering and innuendo...a sure sign of failed policy.
And the 'kool kid' language from the party that wants to be all for everyone with allie leading on a skateboard.
As soccermom pointed out, the red allie party has nothing of note to offer but incumbency and are now employing paul martin librano 'in our streets' tactics to fear the proles back to their work stations.
Allison Red Dorf sez..."I'm afraid...I fear for Alberta if the WP gets elected"
Face it you cretin bit*ch.. you're worried you'll lose your standing in the World Progressive Club and be relegated to down on your kness cleaning toilets in the UN building.
These people are more than sad...they're dangerous.
Over to you Ezra.
Is the Liberal Mole behind this? Has Allie the Red hired WK? I'm surprised that kid wasn't waving barney. Slagging Steven Harper to kid people to vote PC. WRP better win this one to expose the extent of the Progressive rot!
This could be the moment when the b.s. stopped rising. Go Wildrose(s).
Coach >
Not to mention, what about assimilation, looks like we’re the ones expected to assimilate our culture to theirs by example of our sellout Liberal “leader”.
Next we will be invaded with mass immigration of Papua New Guinea pot bellied pigmy tribes, and will see Alison Redford eating human fetuses to make them feel at home and set us on our new cultural path of enlightenment.
After the Harper success, you'd think the "scary ______" meme would have been jettisoned.
This ad is a priori proof positive that they're gonna be wiped out.
Portraying your own constituents as knuckle-dragging hicks!!?? Not a winning sales strategy.
I have a great new marketing plan for Coke. As we know the real potential growth area for Coke is among Pepsi drinkers. These people would obviously switch from Pepsi to Coke if only we could just convince them that Coke is like Pepsi.
So my marketing plan is “Coke: It’s the New Pepsi!”
So we begin by admitting the product we’ve been selling for years is inferior to our competitors with a smaller marketshare, then we go on to convince people, that’s OK now though because we’ve switched and are more like that other less popular product.
Our new product is “I Can’t Believe It’s Not Pepsi”.
Nothing can go wrong with this plan. We can critique former Coke drinkers as misguided, or right to have drank Coke THEN, but hopeless dinosaurs for still wanting to drink Coke now when they could be drinking “I Can’t Believe It’s Not Pepsi”.
WHAT a ludicrous ad: sorry for the ad hominem, but what a group of thoroughly UNATTRACTIVE LOOKING, IMMATURE, ENTITLED, LYING, OWS-type LOSERS . . . not to mention their asinine, nastily presented message.
But thanks, because any reasonable person viewing this low-life message would be doubly motivated to get out and vote—for the Wildrose Party. GO, Wildrose!
Wow. That ad is SO BAD. It makes young people look stupid, and it will turn off mature voters. Is this the intent?
"So-cons want to meddle in other people's bedrooms
K Stricker at April 18, 2012 12:14 PM"
K, the cognitive dissonance has you in a cranium headlock I see!
So-cons for the most part want principle and conscience and the liberty to use them.
If you want to play then you have to pay.
The "state" is mandating that personal rights, freedoms and speech are controlled according to public opinion, not principles which are based in Biblical foundations. These are the foundations which our founding fathers implemented as the pillars of our society, the equality of the person under the law which are God-given rights.
Please explain your ad homonym re: bedroom meddling!
Tugg Speedman: There were times while I was running where I felt...
Tugg Speedman: ...Liberal. Like, really Liberal.
Kirk Lazarus: Damn!
Tugg Speedman: In a weird way I had to sort of just free myself up to believe that is was ok to be Liberal or NDP.
Kirk Lazarus: To be a Liberal.
Tugg Speedman: Yeah!
Kirk Lazarus: To be a liberal Liberal.
Tugg Speedman: Exactly, to be a Trudeauite.
Kirk Lazarus: A Socialist.
Tugg Speedman: Yeah!
Kirk Lazarus: Like the biggest pinko that ever lived.
Tugg Speedman: [pause] When I was running.
Kirk Lazarus: Everybody knows you never do a full Liberal.
Tugg Speedman: What do you mean?
Kirk Lazarus: Check it out. John Diefenbaker, sound like an immigrant, champions immigration, not Liberal. Passed Bill of Rights. Populist, sure. Not Liberal. You know Brian Mulroney. Bilingual, yes. From Quebec. But he charmed the pants off Reagan and got a free trade deal. That ain’t liberal. Then there was Joe Clark. He went full Liberal. Left office after less than a year, empty-handed. Redford went full Liberal. You never go full Liberal.
