Just watched an "online debate" at the Edmonton Journal website, the forum was chalk full of PC astroturfing. People with familiar first names like "Bob" and Sarah" that seemed oh so very phoney. There is a poll to see who won:

Perhaps folks here should go visit that site.

You know Sean, if you had aimed your shot @ Griffiths our former MLA you would have a very valid point. Jack has been a far better MLA for us than Dougie ever was. Ironically Jack has NEVER served as our MLA and has only now inherited Doug's mess. Sadly, even though Jack would make an excellent rep for our region, he's running for the WRONG party. He'll be looking for a job, just like the rest of the PC tribe.
Did your MLA make as much money from crop failures as ours in Lac La Biche-St Paul??
Bear, I believe you're in Battle River/Wainwright whereas I'm in Stettler/Drumheller. Our previous MLA out here was Shirley. Agreed on Dougie's propensity for resembling tits on a bull, however.
My big beef with Hayden was that he said dick all when Stephen Boisson was being terrorized for seven years by the AHRC. Any coward in our government who didn't stand up for free speech then doesn't belong in it now. Time to clean house and put in some people with intact principles.
There will be some decent PC candidates and MLAs that will get unfairly dumped in the expected purge. Perhaps they will later realize that the PC brand is toxic and look for an other party. It happened after Reform wiped the PCs out in the west years ago.
Howie, I and others will be watching VERY closely to see which former PCs end up working at Altalink, or companies affiliated with them. Bill 50 in particular is so friendly to the energy transmission industry that one cannot but imagine all sorts of handshakes and private agreements.
sean - lets see what fate befalls altalink (now 100% owned by SNC Lavelin) when the Wildrose gets in...

Agreed Howie. Take Boutilier,Sherman, oh...wait.
Sean - they redrew the constituency. We are no longer in Battle River/Wainwright. I also doubt that the WRP will have any bigger dick than the last bunch. IMHO, we're in for a big disappointment. Politics is no longer about leading it's about getting re-elected.
Kate will like this:

"Wildrose Leader Danielle Smith said Monday that she isn’t convinced climate change is real."
Speaking of the PEEE CEE'S
I sent a link to kate of a photo i took , it appears aome airdronians would rather use the PEE CEEE signage to advertise a craft and bake sale , and it is not in one place either it is popping up in a few spot's .
Nothing to any wild rose , or ndp signs yet so i am wondering !! anyway quite funny we wil see if kate post's it here .
@THE BEAR
I think you will be delightfully dissapointed i have a feeling that this woman is about principle i beleive she wants to restor alberta to what it used to be , for the people .
She is very libertarian and very conservative at the same time . i beleive she will not hesitate to stand up for alberta , and or albertans i think this woman has a great heart , and very much loves her province!!
I also doubt that the WRP will have any bigger dick than the last bunch. IMHO, we're in for a big disappointment.

What do you mean "WE'RE in for a big disappointment" as if you're expecting anything good or one of us?
Way to argue for keeping the PCs.
How much are they paying you to poison this opportunity for change with your jaded cynicism?
I've just updated my earlier post with this:
Jason Kenney chimes in.
I wonder what Redford will do when she gets dumped. Oh, wait...Who cares?
Is that Bill Kondro, PC patronage type, from Lloydminster covering his face? The guy facing the camera on the right hand side of the photo?
"I wonder what Redford will do when she gets dumped. Oh, wait...Who cares?

Not to worry,canuck66. Ally REDfraud will just slither back to the UN and push Agenda 21. Or to her AB rig in Chi-com country with Unca Mo. Don't get me wrong though.I agree with who cares,as long as it is out of AB.!
A face palm's worth a thousand words.
Whose Hiding? is that part of the problem? The PC's got really close to business and forgot the small guy (US!).
Redford is Iggy in a pant suit. She acts like a visitor from an Ivy League campus. She doesn't have the instincts of a grassroots politician.
I wonder if Smith will remember to thank the Alberta Teacher's Association in her acceptance speech?
According to a story in the Edmonton Urinal Altalink donated $49,675 to the Pc party. ATCO donated $52,300. The Urinal won't report Both companies recieved untendered contracts worth billions for the construction of powerlines. Adscam all over again.
I take it that Mr. Facepalm just heard that Red Ali & Patro Lougheed dumped all over King Ralf's legacy. If he were anywhere else besides Veteran he would probably be looking for a tall bridge to jump off. Given Veteran's lack of tall bridges he will just have to take his chances jumping into the bull pens down at the stock yards.
This morning, Rutherford had Morton on the program. Morton happens to be running in my riding. He is former minister of this and that and finance.
Morton, as other socialist conservatives keeps saying that there is no room for two conservative parties in Alberta.
When you think about it, the statement is wrong on two points right there.
First, the party of Morton is not conservative, name does not mean anything in this case. Some may remember a place in Europe that called itself German Democratic Republic. Those that remember would know that there was nothing democratic about that part of Germany, it was controlled by a communist diktat.
Second, if the guy thinks there is no room, it would be time for him to get the hell out, to make room for actual conservatives.
Sheesh, the politicians talk stupid most of the time, and then there are times where they are firmly stuck on it.
Just received a call from the PC's.
Press 1 if we can count on your vote
Press 2 if you will be voting for someone else.
Press 3 if you are still undecided.
I pressed 1. I lied. Suckers.

Quite right,Lev. Any country that uses "Democratic" or "People's Republic of" in its name is neither democratic nor a republic. And it is getting VERY close to adding "Progressive" to that list.
Justthinkin:
Too late.
"Progressive", often used by the leftists, HAS already gone over to the dark side.
Frankly I just hang up when the Progressives phone. Its like getting a call from Suzuki.
I just did the same think . liberal kennedyglans will think she has it in the bag.
Frankly I just hang up when the Progressives phone.

You need to get a live one, put them on hold, and then tell them your lesbian son is crying again for the puppy you had to put down yesterday and you'll be right back....

Today Danielle Smith (bus and all) came to our little campaign office. After her stump speech, a CBC "reporter" named Kim Trynacity asked her, three times, slagging questions about intolerance towards gay people and some WRA candidate who is a pastor, even suggesting his faith made him guilty of a hate crime. Ms. Smith handled it incredibly well, but it was really tacky.
Aside from the fact that Ms. Trynacity missed out on an opportunity to actually report on party platform (is she lazy or partisan?--who knows), the most unfair thing is the PC candidate we are competing with in this constituency is the local Bishop or Grand Wizard or whatever of the local Mormon church. Which is fine by me, but to my knowledge, they are not exactly welcoming to homosexuals.
This reporter slagging our tolerant party leader and candidate, to the benefit of a candidate who is likely less tolerant of these things, seems illogical. I guess life is unfair, and the media even less so.
Thanks for the opportunity to vent.

She should have said, it's not about gay people, it's about the company they keep, like Hamas. :)
Oops, I forgot the link to the interview:

Licia Corbella: We're doing OK for a bunch of rednecks
Well worth a read!
So what's a fire and brimstone preacher who believes in the literal meaning of the Bible supposed to do? In his job, he is trying to save souls, not do the touchy/feely United Church/Anglican pseudo Christian thing. Why isn't it believable that he doesn't discriminate against queers while at the same time warning them of the fate that awaits them? Perhaps we should let Shatia law govern the situation.

It's only ok for the left if it comes from the "religion of peace" via sharia law and a long rope.
Then it's an undebatable source of cultural enrichment, freedom of religion, and free speech.
The lefties across Canada are howling at the moon over this Alberta election.
It's like a redneck fantasy from hell, and we're lov'n every greasy bite of it.
After this we're loading the F150's, BBQ's and Winchesters then head'n cross the prairies, yippie cy yaa Mo Fo's we're comin for ya. :)
Rednecks in gov't
In the streets
In our cities
With guns
In Canada
Okay I exaggerated, but four out of five isn't bad :)
Looks like the left in Calgary is running to the PC trenches in a last ditch effort to stave off a WR victory. That must be such a bitter taste to check PC in the ballot box for the lefties. The schadenfreude is delicious.
Those of you who live in that beautiful city need to put together one big final push and get out the vote!
